How does my pawn get rented out? Do I have to do anything special or does it just happen?

Pretty sure you just need to play online and rest at an inn. That updates your pawn to the server. Each time you rest it updates your pawn to the server with current level, items, skills, etc and it will return any info about people renting it.

It just happens. Resting at an inn updates your pawn's stats online and if anyone rented and released your pawn, it'll give you the rewards then.

The one in the Everfall is most likely the first one you can get, but it's easily missable. You have to grab it BEFORE you interact with the throne (and triggering the appearance of the tentacles). It's the glowing crystal right on the throne so you have to be careful that you select it instead of the throne.

Even if you don't get it during that sequence, you should be able to go back down and pick it up at any point until the post-game. I was able to collect it well after that quest.

Ugh. Fourival where have you gone you fuck? Can't seem to get this fucker to show up for the life of me.

Yeah, finding him was always a chore for me too. He has a daily routine walking around the city at noon, from the noble area, to the commercial area, and to the slums. The easiest way is running straight to his house in the morning. He'll be sitting on his table, having his noble breakfast.

So many epic moments yesterday. Fought my first hydra, then a dragon, then two cockatrices. The animations, the visuals, spells and shit looked glorious. And at rock solid 60 fps. This is next gen.
When i first played this game on ps3 i thought "interesting but meh". Now it's one of my favorite games of all time. I'd sell my soul for a sequel.

Killed a beholder thing too. While great looking the battle was janky as hell.
Pawn AI broke somehow. Red Sonja just stood there doing nothing.

About the post game content. Everfall is boring. The battles against big creatures are nice but level design is dull and repetitive.
BBI on the other hand is amazing even if it reuses some areas. It has an atmosphere that rivals dark souls' i think.

Can DD be my GOTY 2016?

I'm post-game. He usually goes and chats with Black Cat dude, as of a day ago no matter how long I sleep I can't find the fuck.

Rest at the inn and you'll get the notification if your pawn were hired.
Make sure that you turn on the online mode.

Thanks guys! I need to rest at the inn more! Hopefully my pawn gets taken for a spin once in a while.

I can't wait to go to BBI, because the base game is honestly very underwhelming. by far the dullest and smallest "open world" I have ever seen in a game, and don't get me started on quest design and dialogue.
and while the combat gameplay is indeed great, fighting through all this respawn with little to not motivation sometimes feels like a dynasty warrios game and gets super repetitive fast.

Lol, indeed.
If you can't find him in the morning, try waiting for him in front of his house at dawn. He'll be home at some point.

Are you sure? I seem to recall some escort quests dissapearing.

Well, he was actually asking whether the quests will be cancelled, not disappeared. I presumed he's talking about the hunting quests, not the escort ones. But I rarely do escort quests, tbh.

I just started BBI (level 65ish) I have 2 tier 1 BBI gear tokens or whatever. If i want the magick archer rings, I should make my pawn and I striders before "purging"?

Ok so I am at the point where I have the mission to
go to the Tainted mountain, last mission maybe?

I remember from the first time that there was some thing about
going back to Everfall getting 20 wakestones or something like that I don't recall

I the Dark Arisen version different or is that still coming? Also If I go through with that mission is it a point of no return? I am level 56 or 57 I think and that is what I have left on my log.
Should I enter BBI now?
Do I do it after?
Am I still too low?
Is there a point of no return for both?

Also I remember from last time
I feel I might have missed a couple of mission. I never did anything with tha "friendly" ogre in Barta Crags. Nothing with Heavens peak place with the female bandits, I needed something there or some mission. The point is did I miss out on those for getting there after the Deny Salvation quest?

Advise?

Save before purifying the equipment. Decode it as 2 striders, Godsbane, then as 2 mages, since magick archer pulls from both loot pools, both have a chance to decode it as a MA ring.

Although I am not the guy to ask but I was in the same boat yesterday and
I did that "find 20 wakestones" quest and once you turn that in you are at that point you can no longer go to BBI and the game effectively ends. I had to start NG+ and get my pawn then I could go to BBI.

I did the same thing. The required escort quest takes foreverrrrrrrrrrr.

Put all your mats in storage, they can be used from there when you need to enhance your gear.

I just had a nightmare vision of a reality where you had to manually get out the mats you need to enhance your gear. It was horrible. (not that this game's weight limit and inventory interface isn't already horrible, by PC standards anyway, but man).

ew, I already spend half my time transfering things to my pawns so I can be unenumbered.

They should make a mod that automatically puts things you pick up in your pawns inventory.

I did that too. What sucks is that Pilgrim's Charm comes with prosperity too, which increases gold drops but also tends to replace regular drops by even more gold. So I ended up with lots of levels but not a lot of Daimon drops to upgrade lv3 stuff.

If you get Fournival's affinity high enough he starts selling Veteran's Periapts in post-game, which only have the 2x exp effect. Give him gifts until you hear the sound effect, then check his inventory.

Ugh. Fourival where have you gone you fuck? Can't seem to get this fucker to show up for the life of me.

He's in his house early in the morning, then he walks down to the Black Cat, then he walks back to his house.

How requently do you end up fighting the big monsters later in this game?

I have had to shelve the game for now because while I found fighting the big monsters really fun everything else was just boring me.

After 14 hours the world and dungeons are all very samey and pretty uninteresting. I have only fought cyclopses and 1.5 griffins in terms of big monsters.

The stamina system while out of combat is really anoying and even in combat, running out of stamina means your guy doubles over for far to long. I wouldn't mind that so much if you didn't run out of stamina so fast.

The story is pretty meh but what ever I don't really care to much about that.

The inventory management is poorly designed and a pain to use as there is no quick slot system for healing / stamina items.

It's a shame because the big monster fights are a lot of fun but all the crap leading up to it just doesn't interest me at all.

If the game eventually changes the format later on I may be tempted to come back to it later.

Once you get to BBI, you'll spend 80% of your playtime there in every other playthrough ever.

The loot and exp trivialize the main game, to the point where it's tough to even justify going through the main story after getting a lvl.1 BBI weapon.

The post game dungeons and expansion content is filled with big monsters of various kinds.

But.

You're gonna need to get used to fighting smaller, challenging monsters in post game. Tougher saurians, amped up undead, variations on smaller bad guys that are just more badass. The smaller goes are often more dangerous than the bigger ones.

As for Stamina: it's a stat like everything else. Level up a vocation that gives you lots of Stamina if it annoys you. Equip stamina gear. Wear lighter stuff.

KB&M has hotkeys for consumables.

Hotkey one of the multitudes of things that give you stamina.

Go explore the world, you'll find big monsters everywhere. Try going outside during the night time, you'll get destroyed. Not sure what you mean when you say the dungeons are samey since I think there are literally 0 repeated dungeons except some rooms that get repeated during BBI. Have you gotten to Gran Soren yet?

The PC version lets you hotkey items. Highlight the item you want to bind and then hit 1 2 3 4 or 5 to bind the item to that key.

I only really like playing with a controller these days.

I'm thinking the game just isnt for me. I think I was expecting something a bit different to be honest.

Oh well never mind. I still had some fun with it and it wasn't exactly expensive.

Do I need to point out my name? =p I know its a
DKSI
thing hehe =D

Aw shit

I finally caught Death slipping! I had periapts and blast arrows on deck and blew him sky high. Gotta love some of these hilariously over exaggerated physics on big enemies. Didn't drop the lantern that I need for my boots though. Guess I'll have to kill Death again.

Hit level 194, almost at the finish line. With all the runs I've done I have a number of level 3 BBI weapons I don't need if anyone's interested. I wouldn't recommend them for people just starting that area since most of the progression comes from getting something strong enough to actually hurt stuff.

Don't you have to wait a few days between that too? Last time I did it I exited the tower and tried it again right after and no dragon showed up. So I rested at an inn for like four days after which the dragon actually showed up upon dropping bait.

You don't have to wait at all, you took too long to kill it and the bait despawned.

As long as there is bait on the ground, you can spawn a Cursed Dragon by exiting/entering. I've killed 5 before the bait despawned.

Pawn: Arisen! Are you ok?
Arisen: Yeah... whew... I... I just ran ten feet. Gimme a minute here...

I did the Evenfall quest. Fun game thus far. I was walking up on the ramparts and saw a knight walking around. I was curious to see if I could grab him, and sure enough I did. I then wondered if you can kick him off of the ramparts. And yup, you can. I seriously said "Holy shit!" when he SPLATTERED all over this roof. Despite landing head first onto a roof from a hundred feet high, he STOOD UP and shook his fists at me. Later on another knight came up to me and then threw me in jail. Worth it.

Also I saw a chimera wandering around in the forest. "Oh wow a chimera. It's kind of far though, I don't think it wi-OH GOD"

Hook me up Toast! Also that reminds me I need to kill Death really quick.

To the owner of the mage pawn called "Gabe": I'm sorry for returning your pawn with a set of Lady's Garb. I needed it for a quest lol

Tiops

go to the black cat he will sell you a new one.
I'm just apologizing because I changed the pawn's equipment to the Lady's Garb and sent the pawn back on the rift after completing the quest. I didn't know that it would update the pawn in its owner's game, I just found out today because a friend of mine (that I did the same thing, as he was also a male pawn) said that he laughed at his pawn when I returned to him in the same condition.

I bought the sets from the Black Cat, I just needed it to a quest and have no use for them anymore.

Speaking of hotkeys does anyone elses game forget the binding for the lantern? Mine is doing it regularly, so I need to go into my inventory frequently to reassign it. Is it perhaps because the lantern is out of oil? I just can't tell because it seems really random too. It's remembering the other stuff (curatives) I have hotkeyed.
