it's usual behavior to place a portstone, use the ferrystone to the starting village, rest, port back and pick up the portstone again, right?
and since I got the eternal ferrystone I can safely sell the normal ones?

What's the difference between sword and hammer anyway?

I'm using sword and I love doing the jump attack too, lol.
Hammers do blunt damage and generally knockdown/stagger enemies easier. Swords do slashing damage(I think more enemies are weak to slashing than they are to blunt)

hammers are slower but have more strength. However, most of the enemies have slashing weakness, so maybe swords are a better choice. But is up to you really.

I meant at that point in the main story.
that drake is in front of the fortress that is part of one of the early main quest missions. and I didn't see a way to get past him without aggroing him.
the content in the actual fortress is a lot easier, so I thought he is not meant to be killed at that point, since he basically oneshots my pawns and me

Drakes, Wyrms and Wyverns are probably your first introduction to the upper class of giant monster:

- They can insta kill pawns. Like a death effect of sorts. Can't do shit about it.
- Their forward attacks (swipe, pound, etc) are brutal. Never fight these things from the front.
- They can fly, so you need to disable their wings if you're a melee combatant.
- Most of their bodies are armored as fuck. Hitting them anywhere but their exposed heart, head or wings is pointless.
- They are remarkably easier if you can climb onto their chests and apply burst damage to their exposed hearts. This knocks them over.

With the proper consumables they can be killed fairly early. Protip: stacked damage buffs.

Had an amazing Greatsword moment. Charged up an indomitable swing when some bands were approaching me. My strider pawn did a aoe ensnare + pull thing, dragging them across the ground in to my charged attack range.
All of them ( 4-5 bandits) get one shotted and bounce in to the air and fall back to the ground with a disgusting loud SPLAT sound.
Wish I had shadowplay or something running.

just about to start this...some questions before I do:

does ENB work with gedosato? what should I enable/disable in gedosato?
is there a mod for DS4 button promts?
any other essential mods?

grinding back up vocations for augments is painful, I think I'll just ignore it until i hit post game and then do the infinite spawning guard exploit again.

Unless anyone has a better method I can do sooner?

thanks!
what about the sorcerer though?

Haha, well, all the stuff the pawn was carrying will go into your stash so don't worry.
ARE YOU SURE

Holy shit that's good to know.

Also, I have to say, that Griffin quest is one of the most memorable gaming moments I have ever had. Such an amazing quest. The final battle was a bit less epic because a side-quest NPC stormed in throwing fire spells, he basically one shot the poor Griffin so I couldn't really fight it. Meh.

Some tips to save yourselves some frustration, especially when playing on Hard mode when most everything OHKOs you:

If you're about to fight a golem of any type, play a melee class.

If you're about to fight a metal golem, play a melee class with a physical bow (e.g. strider, ranger, assassin are good; magick archer isn't).

Useful tip for the Witchwood: you can reach the back entrance from Cassardis if you Levitate.

Completely forgot how unbalanced these enemies are for magic classes.... grrr. Maybe with pawns with high knowledge it can be done, but I was a mystic knight and
the metal golem in the Witchwood had this medal
high up that I couldn't reach, Grand Cannon did nothing and my pawns were derping. Tried
to climb the golem and jump on the medal but it was hard to aim
, every hit didn't do that much damage anyway, and the golem's punch OHKOs me. So I said screw it, dropped a port crystal at the back entrance, warped out, returned as a strider, warped back, picked up my crystal and destroyed that stupid medal.

Yep I'm sure. :)
If you gave the NPC
a forgery of the grimoire, his spell fails apparently. I never tried it, I regret giving him the grimoire now
... sounds hilarious.

can you keep all the augmentations when you change the vocation or only certain ones? is that all that you can keep when changing vocations?
I reached the top of sorcerer and thought about rocking some MK or MA for a time, maybe even mage if the augmentations are worth it.

All augments are universally usable.

You also keep core skills and class skills that are shared by various classes.

So for example if I buy Hundred Kisses as a Strider and switch to Assassin, then Hundred Kisses is still there to be used.

Obviously, nothing you buy is ever lost. When you switch back to earlier vocations all progress remains.

Yes, any learned/unlocked augments are available, Vocations be damned. This is one of the many reasons playing many Vocations for a while is recommended, since you get to mix and match the best and the brightest that way.

yes, and you can do that before the cutscene to get pawn knowledge about how to fight the hydra.

So last night, I had one of the most atmospheric session in the game yet so I figure I would share.

I was doing an escort mission (
Selene
) and I didn't realize when I started that it was going to dusk soon.

Half way through, it's getting dark when I heard the song of the harpies up ahead and to add to that, I could see a fucking armored Cyclop just chilling right up on the damn road. Like any reasonable security guard contractor, I led my client off-road to avoid that monstrous monster.

It was then pitch black. After killing a bunch of harpies and wolves. I was eagerly running straight to the marker when, to my despair, a mountain appeared. I was then presented with two choices, to find another way, either to the left or the right. I chose left.

Again, wrong choice. This time, I got surrounded by a bunch of undeads and a fucking ghost. Luckily, they were easy pies. Another Cyclop blocked the road so I avoided that too. Nothing too interesting.

Another crossroad, another choice. This time, some lady bandits gang ambushed us. No big deal. I massacred them all just to find ANOTHER fucking Cyclop blocking the road. This time, I engaged. Now thanks to my Pawn spamming fire and lighting, stunning the bejesus out of him, we managed to get past pretty easily. Whew. Nothing stopping us now.

Boy, was I wrong. I was trucking along the road when I heard a monstrous roar and a motherfucking Chimera jumped out right in front of me from the darkness. I couldn't see him before too late and I was legit shook.

Never, and I mean never, before had I turnt back and run that fast while ordering my pawns to follow me.

It was too late, the Chimera got one of my mage, I can hear she scream "HELP ME" when I was running away. I stopped and watched her die in the distance.

Being a no-man-left-behind kind of guy, I ran back and face the beast head-on. Only to find he got reinforcements, a pack of white wolves and bandits to boot.

Amazingly, we managed to decimated the weaklings, leaving the damn beast for last.

My strider and I clung to his face and smashed it with all our might when my mages rains fire and thunder upon him.

Finally down he went. The mission was a disaster though, as my client got torn apart in the middle of the chaos.

Relieved because we survived, but utterly disappointed because I made a wrong choice to push on in the night and got my client killed. I went on ahead, nothing to lose and adrenaline pumping.

We approached a stronghold upon a hill, turns out that was the headquater of those lady bandits that kept fucking with us throughout the night, I was furious and determined to slaughter every single one of them as revenge. I was running as fast as I could up the road when I realized that one of my other pawn got left behind. (I don't know why but out of my 3 pawns, this one seems to like collect a lot of things, and by a lot, I mean everything)

Now the funny part. I can see up ahead a bunch of bandits waiting for me, along side a huge armored cyclops again. However, instead of fighting us, he decided to jump straight from the ledge down to the field below where my pawn was and DIED right on impact, I knew it he did because I got credited 4000xp for doing absolutely nothing. Haha.

Now, I noticed that my pawn died too. I was like "Wtf, I told you not to be greedy and hoard everything damn it" and ran down the road to revive her.

Surprise surprise, another fucking Chimera jumped between us, which most likely was her assailant.

Another epic battle. Another Chimera was slain.

This time, I decided to stop, work in the morning and I am not sure I can handle another intense battle after all this.

This game is ok.

I just maxed out my sorcerer, should I change my vocation? it took 20+ hours to max it out -__-

Switch freely, level as many as you can. That's one of the games strongest aspects. Not only do augments carry over to all vocations, but certain vocations are better at certain things. You'll very likely find yourself flipping between them.

Might also find a class type you wouldn't usually play that you enjoy.

I think I'll go with mage because I'm still starving for more spells :3

Rolled a new character and got to Gran Soren and did the first quest there. Definitely liking the game a lot more than I was before. It really is a slow burn at first.

whaaaaaaaaaaaaat

also:
no ng+ is not more difficult. There is a "ng+ kind of thing" in BBI only, so to finish the isle completely you have to make the run two times.
it's more than twice which is the best part because bbi++ (third runthrough) incredible as an ender to the game

oh yes you're right.

On the hydra, yes, there are barrels in the tent, you can grab one of them and wait for the hydra to bite you. It's not easy but you can throw it in her mouth and then shoot an arrow to the neck to make it explode.
However, that's the hard way, you can do it with the cutscene and i think your pawns will get the third star rating in hydra knowledge.

this game Really needs a mod that makes the various foes attack if each other I'd on sight.. I mean that if I'm fighting bandits and a chimera appears, it destroys immersion for it to attack me and only me when there are pretty succulent bandits in front on him.. it almost look like it's their pet instead of a savage beast

true, but there is friendly fire between foes, so, at least they can die from a chimera stomp.

Like what?

I'm not sure if there are that many (story) elements, but there is the witchwood with the Selene as the witch + a Golem that's right out of berserk. Of course there are small references (like mercedes as caska) in the game as Lux said.

As a Berserk Fan, Dragons Dogma and Dark Souls is a gift, but please give us a real berserk game.

Are the throwable bottles actually very useful and I need to git gud and learn how to aim properly or not really worth using? Currently, I feel like it's a waste of item load to carry them.

Can anyone help me with this? I purchased the eternal ferrystone from the capital as soon as I got there but it doesn't exist in my inventory or bank storage at all.

Anyway to fix this?

Purchase? It should have been free in storage! After a certain quest I believe (I think its the escort to GS).

Q) Is the Eternal Ferrystone and bonus items/gears available in the PC version?
A) Yes! Bonus items immediately accessible are: Swordman’s Ring, Daggerist’s Ring, Staff-Bearer’s Ring, The Lion’s Spine, Robe of Enlightenment, Wavering Cloth, Vagabond Armor, Tiara of Enlightenment, Ruminator’s Monocle, Jester’s Cap, and Fiend-luring Incense. Completing the first escort quest and reaching Gran Soren will unlock the following: Eternal Ferrystone, Set of Fop’s Trek Wear, Voldoan Armor, Priest Vestments, Lady’s Trek Wear, Queen’s Clothing, and Nun Vestments.
