Did they fix where you stop seeing the same pawns in the rift? I'm at grigori fight and I'm a mystic knight and the rest of my group is mages because that is the only thing in my lvl range. This party make up is not working for this fight lol. I have like a 100 friends who have the game on my friends list.

if your friend pawns arent showing up in game, you can filter the search for pawns of any type or level in the rift.

You don't have to fight the majority of those bandits to get to witch's wood. I did the quest at level 10. Just hug the left side of the area, right along the mountain and you can run last all the bandits.

Imo the quest design is poorly done. You have to purposefully go back to the starting town, interrupting a very forward flowing main question line, inquire with the chief, then run past bandits that are much too difficult for the early game (thus leading the player to believe they should not do the quest yet) or risk losing that quest line and area forever.

Not a big fan of it. I wouldn't have even known about it myself if I hadn't have stumbled across it on gaf.

I'm using these low level pawns to give them tons of knowledge and hopefully RC when the servers are fixed.
Currently using Atheena from Tig3r3y3s and Terra from mpk, I was using Mila from a bowl of kimchi before, but he changed her from a mage to fighter :[.
Prolly will keep Atheena around forever since she looks like she could be younger sister to my own pawn.

Like every other quest they disappear after arbitrary points so that you're constantly anxious whenever you complete any quest that content is going to evaporate before your very eyes

You'll get less xp for using higher level pawns. I'm not sure how significantly it scales though. I've only used pawns a few levels higher than me.

Recruiting high level pawns is a good way to teach your own pawn how to handle enemies, as they are likely to have high bestiary knowledge and do the gimmicks and tricks.

That being said I generally don't hire out any higher than 10 past my level range (and usually within 5).

Fuuuuck I just heard about stat builds for the game. I honestly want a pretty balanced stats output because I would like to eventually change between classes to try everything out.

Are stats really that important or can I just continue as I want?

Complete novice here but i understand that there's no real penalty to mixing things up the only issue comes from using one vocation all the way through as you will end up "weak" in some areas. The advice is change vocations when you want to and keep the augments you like from each one. Keep your gear updated and cover any holes with buffs from your kit.

The game is hard but the systems seem to want you to play around and mix things up too. I can't wait to get more into it later tonight.

Man these board escort quests are quite long. I thought it would be a pretty easy and short thing, but the world is bigger than the map suggests and it's filled with danger. I failed two quests because the npc died, now I just save after each encounter.
Fighting a Cyclops and direwolves at night is pretty epic. Loving the game.

I looked at some data prior release comparing end-game damage with a perfect min/max build, the worst possible build, and a build that was done randomly.

The difference between the min/max and worst possible build was noticeable, but not absurd. The difference between the min/max and random build was negligible.

Just have fun, play what you want.m
I'm somewhat min/maxing. Fighter to 10 into Assassin and Warrior to maximize physical damage and HP. I do want to switch into Mystic Knight eventually, but a true min/max build would require some magic damage as well from Sorceror (not 100% sure of the mechanics at play).

I never knew Warrior got so much love, was it like this when the original came out? Or maybe all the gifs just make it seem that way.

I had a moment of clarity and decided that FXAA and banding needed to go. So of course I installed GeDoSaTo. Scanning the last couple pages of this thread got me a preset, and now I'm all set. So much better looking with SMAA and no banding.

I've also had my eyes opened regarding M+KB. I thought it would be awful, but it's actually pretty good. If it wasn't for the bow mode having no tells with the button prompts off, it'd be pretty much perfect. I used Logitech's software to bind Ctrl and Alt to back and forward on my G502 and I to middle click, so apart from the menu keys that want me to use X and O it's pretty great now. And of course, 144hz G-Sync has that amazing smoothness that I almost forgot about. Helm Splitter at 144fps is so damn smooth, I love it.

Is it me or have they made Photo Mode pretty much useless? I remember that i always wanted to have a bit more control of the camera, but i don't remember it being as bad as it is now on PC, you can barely move or zoom the camera at all.

. Huge pain in the ass on hard since it had so much HP and I'd die if it even looked at me funny. Was rolling as a Ranger, so I basically just shot tenfold flurries at it while hoping my pawns were delicious-looking enough to distract it. After a few deaths I managed to pop a liquid vim while it was doing the

If your escort was killed, simply sleep at the inn like for 7 days and your escort will return and the quest should be posted again.

I just did another mission that took me there, and I failed the Mercedes quest earlier. You should be fine.

The Rift gifting/player rating issue that seems to have manifested post launch should now be fixed. The root cause is still unknown but we can confirm the server side database have gotten corrupted as a result.

Keep in mind that the first couple of trades may not work correctly due to the built in cool-off period, but you should start seeing positive results within 12-24 hours. Please continue renting pawns and resting at the inn as usual and let us know how it's working out for you.

Meanwhile, the dev team is investigating other client side issues such as the W10 beta infinite loading screen that occurs right before the pre-rendered movie/cutscene. It appears Microsoft is testing a different video codec in the beta build which is causing issues for a handful of our games that rely on WMV codec.

We'll post further status updates on the official Steam forum. Please stay tuned.
