Hello Arisens -

The Rift gifting/player rating issue that seems to have manifested post launch should now be fixed. The root cause is still unknown but we can confirm the server side database have gotten corrupted as a result.

Keep in mind that the first couple of trades may not work correctly due to the built in cool-off period, but you should start seeing positive results within 12-24 hours. Please continue renting pawns and resting at the inn as usual and let us know how it's working out for you.

Meanwhile, the dev team is investigating other client side issues such as the W10 beta infinite loading screen that occurs right before the pre-rendered movie/cutscene. It appears Microsoft is testing a different video codec in the beta build which is causing issues for a handful of our games that rely on WMV codec.

We'll post further status updates on the official Steam forum. Please stay tuned.

thanks mr bacon

you guys at capcom unity are doing god's work

Anyway, can anyone help on the Symone escort quest for the Golden Idol? i did the quest twice but i ain't got anything as a reward so far :(

- Have a flask of water on you before starting.
- Walk when following her.
- Do not touch/bump into her.
- She hides in the Inn, in the corner behind the fireplace.
- When racing, don't run into her, let her win, but keep it close, 6-10ft at most.

Any tips for playing a Mystic Knight?

I'm level 35ish and have maxed out the mystic knight proficiency and still feel pretty weak, his skills all do so little damage.

Get better gear, be it upgrades or buying new ones (and the upgrading those), level up sorcerer for some more Magick power and an augment that gives a good boost to all magic damage, get the physical equivalent from leveling Warrior, level up as Assassin to boost your strength a bit... You know, get bigger numbers :p.

More specific advice would include learning to use the enchanted shield properly, aka getting those perfect blocks so the shield can work its magic when it is juiced with one of those MKs shield enchantments, making sure you have a suitable elemental enchantment applied when using Magic/Great Cannon, making extensive use of the Abyssal Anguish spell that boosts your weapon with a completely additional dark element damage component that stacks with the usual elemental buffs. I'm sure there was more, MK rocks face.

This game must take like 500 hours to beat. Maybe its because travelling is so slow but I feel like I just started and I am 30 hours in. Also do you run out of stamina faster if you are carrying 20 pounds vs 0 pounds? Assuming max weight is 50 pounds.

Thanks for the update!

While we hopefully have your attention in this very thread, could you please check back with the devs if it's possible to add an item hotkey option for controllers (mapped to the Dpad instead of pawn commands)?
And, of less importance to me personally, a hotkey for the map and save for keyboard/mouse.

I guess these would be very welcome additions to every player.

are you using the infinite ferrystone and port crystals to quicktravel?

Question for the Seeking Salvation/Justice Done quests:

I really feel like I shouldn't kill the guy, but I know that Mason will be pissed and you lose out on later quests for him. Is it better to just kill the guy?

So any good ENb preset or sweetfx that just simply removes the filter and makes the colors more natural without crushing the hell out of blacks?

Great to hear! Can you also have the team look into assorted audio issues? Many people have noticed the overall audio is very quiet even at max in-game volume settings, and others have complained of occasional to frequent crackling/popping.

Keep up the good work!

Yes, the penalty to stamina increases as you go from light -> average -> heavy, etc. it's one of the better attempts at a realistic encumbrance model that I've seen.

I have never used a ferrystone, I am just walking around outside of gran storen killing rock golems!

Dude is a shitstain
that took part in a death-cult for shits and giggles, and Mason is a scary dude.
What merit do you see in sparing him?

Dpad keybinding would be awesome indeed. The only reason I'm putting up with DS4Windows quirks instead of playing with a 360 controller is that I can use spring water and stamina items without pausing. It's a game changer.

is it possible to use more than 3 skills at a time? I'm an assassin but I don't really want to use shields or bows lol

I really hope y'all are also looking into the audio issues because the levels/balance is really off.

Use the ferrystone and put some portcrystals around man, makes it so much easier.

An assassin complaining about lack of skills, shit ain't right man.

There are definitely people looking into mods that do this though, I'll continue spamming the warrior jump attack until then.

It's not the best solution, but here's a AutoHotkey script that has a key for opening the map (m) and saving (F5)
SNIP

Not sure if anyone is using it, but I've updated it a bit.

Changed the detection method for the window so it only activates hotkeys when you're actually in game.

Added a "U" for quest list button.

Code:
#NoEnv ; Recommended for performance and compatibility with future AutoHotkey releases.
SendMode Input ; Recommended for new scripts due to its superior speed and reliability.
SetWorkingDir %A_ScriptDir% ; Ensures a consistent starting directory.

fuck, then there was a cyclops and now i think thats...are there dragons out and about? that looks like a dragon, im outta here. I spent so much time fighting the chimera and now the cyclops it became nightfall. The night is indeed dark and full of terrors ;_;

edit: oh lol, teleporting to grand soren failed my escort quest... come on >_<

is there really a reason to play at /fear the night when you can infinitely port back to town and rest and port back again?
I feel the endless ferrystone broke a quite interesting mechanic in this game

I will say 1 negative thing about this game though, the random pop in of baddies. I will be walking and 3 goblins will spawn 2 feet from me.

Man. I'm only playing at 1080p but I really wish they had moved the text of the pawn chatter to the top right or some other place where it's not in your face :/

As much as I appreciate this game (I bought it 3 fuckin times) there are so many little things they could've done better that I hope the community will fix through mods.

I never though about putting down a portstone and porting back to unload goods. This seems like a good idea weight wise.

One or two side-quests require playing at night, but otherwise no. I played the original release on the 360, and I do kinda miss some gameplay elements lost by the added port-crystals and more expensive ferrystones in NG.

One of my favorite memories of the original game was running into the Drake in the dead of night with no oil to refill my lantern, and the fight lasting into morning.

Douchebag. Yes, me.

Yes, it does break one of the best aspects of the game.

I posted about this before- the endless stone was added with the expansion. It isn't supposed to be used in the main game. I would definitely suggest not using it until you have completed the main quest.

I can go to Gran Soren then head back to find
Quina in the witchwood
right?

Early game spoiler.

I went back and did that quest before I started the one where you start in the pawn guild.

Edit: make sure you grab the warping stone from the inn, so you don't have to run all the way back like I did. :(

Not sure if anyone is using it, but I've updated it a bit.

Changed the detection method for the window so it only activates hotkeys when you're actually in game.

Added a "Q" for quest list button.

SendMode Input ; Recommended for new scripts due to its superior speed and reliability.

Q is the bow mode button for archers, so you might want to change that to something on the RHS of the keyboard.

I just beat the game this morning (have not done the DLC island stuff yet) with steam saying I was at 35 hours.

I felt like the first 20 hours or so it took a long time to go anywhere, and I was in danger trying to get around due to roaming griffons, etc. but after getting all my portcrystals up I was zipping around the second half of the game. I was level 50 when I finished, I think I missed a decent amount of optional quests so it could certainly be longer.

I played a Magick Archer / Ranger with a tank pawn, which seemed to make the game a bit easier since you don't get hit all that often and can just rain arrows on stuff and dodge.

I just started a NG+, getting ready to head to Bitterblack Isle tonight, and then try to look at a guide to make sure I hit more of the big side quests this time through.

This game is super fun though. I had it back on the PS3, but I never got more than 5 or 6 hours into it. 60 FPS no matter what is a great improvement over the console version.

I've been using the E3FX sweetfx setup I found on the nexus. Less dingy colors and ao/hbao. One of the bullet points is no crushed blacks! Could stand a little tweaking, but I like it. Haven't messed with enbs very much. Also curious about others to try.

welp I sure lost that fight. Dragon + what looked like endlessly spawning goblins + my mage pawn mind controlled raining fire on my head equals death lol
