Hard mode - aye or nay? Already played Normal on PS3 and thought the bandits and some of the bosses were difficult.

That feeling when you fight a drake with tons of 3-star equipment and don't get a single piece dragonforged ;_;

It is both infuriating and saddening. Though uh...
Godsbane
?

Getting very good at killing bosses and other than getting one-shotted by a Gorecyclops (condemned) (exploring BBI at WAY too low a level - low 30s - did kill it on my 2nd try though), haven't had any major problems. Though ironically, I have been killed TWICE now by bandits while running around Gran Soren and not paying enough attention to my back while in combat. Magick Archer feels so much more powerful in BBI than in the rest of the game world. Really gives you a feeling of just how different the design is between the two areas. Weirdly, it reminds me of Dark Souls II and the differences in design from the core game vs. its DLC.

Play it on normal. Hard mode is tedious because you have to spend way too much time with stamina management. Alternatively, play with an infinite sprint mod and try out hard mode. Bandits might one shot you with charged arrows at the beginning of the game though.

As someone currently playing on Hard mode.... I kind of regret it. Too many things one-shot you, the stamina penalty is annoying, and it's weird to be swimming in cash all the times.

Unless you really really want the Abyssal coat without farming the Ur-Dragon, I guess. I'm gonna switch back to normal for BBI after I kill Grigori, I think.

If I had the Godsbane already, I wouldn't be using a drake to dragonforge my shit. :p

However, now she's traning as a Warrior, and really wants to help you!

She's big, strong, dressed in dragon scales and she can be fun at parties! Let her help you!

Change her into a mage and I will ;P, that's all I'm hiring with my current BBI runs, I already have 2 warriors (my pawn/tig3r3y3s' pawn).

I mean, if you wanna level quickly you can exploit the offline ur-dragon (or just cheat) regardless of difficulty. Leveling past 100 is tedious no matter the method though (and for the most part, not really necessary - minor benefits when fighting some of the major bosses in BBI, not much else)).

Still prefer wearing the Bliaut to just about any other clothing, though it unfortunately restricts my class choices a lot. For some reason the armor in this game doesn't appeal to me all that much.

Farmed em' because they're super easy to kill past a certain point... guess I'm a weirdo.

but ever so delicious
Where do I get better gear from at level 30? I seem to be stuck with the same gear i've had for a good while now. Everything at the main starting hub isn't worth buying.

I've also completed the first 3 quests from Ser Max, When you start the Duke section, does it cancel out any quests that one might have?

There is a merchant in the quarry shortcut with some gear, otherwise give a gold idol to caxton.

Also people, before going into the last part of the game (delivering 20 items to a certain someone in the everfall), dismiss your pawns.
Pawns that are not dismissed at that point will be treated as "killed" and just return to their owners with 3 star ratings and no chance to gift an item.
However they will not get a note of completing the game with them in the credits, which is just really dumb.

the best place to dragonforge is the
evil priest
imho. You do it, sleep in cassardis like 7 days (i think) and repeat.
There's a faster way. If you go to that open area were you find the dark arisen in BBI for the first time (forgot the name), and drop that liquid that attracts bosses (again, I don't remember what it's called), the game will spawn a cursed dragon. If you kill it, you can leave to go to the next area and come back and another one will spawn.

Sorry for not remembering names, last time I played this was ~2 years ago.

EDIT: The place is called Duskmoon Tower and it turns out that Barroch is not the Dark Arisen, just an Arisen that put his skills to other use.

Dark arisen? You mean barroch, the merchant that can rarify your gear? Because the dark arisen is Daimon.
And the item you mean is called rancid bait meat ;].

Now that I think off, weren't you able to use ferrystones for the escort missions?
Like, go alone to the destination, place the stone. Accept the quest, teleport there without risk of the NPC getting killed.

You're not getting better gear at 30 because you should be done with the Wyrm hunt by then. Advancing the plot will get you better gear in the vendors.

Meeting the duke does lock you out of some quests but IIRC it only cancles unfinished Wyrm hunt ones and most quests will be fine provided you started them.

Luce is a great compliment to my Mystic Archer. I fire off explosive bolts and she detonates them.

Thats it. Rancid bait meat. I used to use that early on to level up before I spammed Death. I swear Barroch was also an Arisen but he decided to ignore his purpose and decided to be a salesman? Therefore he was the dark arisen?

So hyped to finish college and play this. It finished downloading the day after release and I played for like an hour but I haven't had the chance to play it since then. Cant wait.

Just one question. I have a pawn that fell from the sky but I thought you get to make your own pawn? Unless I just haven't got that far yet

Nah, arisen can decide whether or not to persue the dragon or
seneschal
, and
seneschal
even gives you the choice to
retire
.
This just makes the dragon seek out another to become arisen.

Daimon is dark arisen because
he decided to be cursed instead of killing the arisen he loved (his dragon, grette), while also deciding to not make the choice to sacrifice the pawn he loved (her pawn olra, not to be confused with the arisen olra), Grette granted his wish to "end the cycle" and thus cursed him into an arisen that would kill other arisen, though ofcourse by granting his wish, it meant grette would have to kill olra. Olra then after some time posseses an arisen also called Olra, in order to free ashe (daimon) from his curse. Barroch is just one of the arisen that went to BBI.

Is there unlimited port crystals mode yet?
Could always put some into your (pawns hehe) pocket using trainers or Cheat Engine. That's what I've been doing anyway. I just throw down a port crystal whenever I think I reached a distant/important enough location.

Am I the only one getting crashes for no reason?
I hired a pawn that when I tried to hire again there was a message saying it had corrupt data, could that be it?

EDIT:
Nope, Cursed King's Belt. DO NOT equip this item.

Sorry for the slightly off-topic post, but I just realized DD:DA is available to rent on UK Playstation Now, so I guess i'll be able to scratch that itch (even if it's the badly-performing original version)!

Gonna be fun replaying this game again after so long!

I just realised Im in "stage 4" of the quest progression. Guess I missed 2 quests from stage 3, the 2 bandit quests from "stage 2" (wiki says theres no quests on "stage 3"), unless they are still available

but tbh one of the bandit quests from the description sounds like it was from a bunch of dudes I murdered for another quest so...welp
