Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen PC |OT| Wolves hunt in 4K

Okay. I have some questions and I'm not entirely sure what I should do, considering the amount of different information I've had.

I'm now in the post game, I'm level 52. I'm currently accumulating Wakestones. My question is this:

Should I continue with the main questline, finish all my other side quests and start NG+ then go do Bitterblack Isle? Or should I do BBI before I start NG+? I'm aware that BBI is supposed to be considerably harder than the main quest, so I at least want to be in a position where I can put up a fight.

You can to BBI very quickly, you don't have to go all the way back to gran soren, just wait till night time in cassardis and head to the dock, you might have to go to the encampment first, but not sure about that.
So yes just finish the game first.

I just realised Im in "stage 4" of the quest progression. Guess I missed 2 quests from stage 3, the 2 bandit quests from "stage 2" (wiki says theres no quests on "stage 3"), unless they are still available

but tbh one of the bandit quests from the description sounds like it was from a bunch of dudes I murdered for another quest so...welp

The stage 2 quests should still be available, at least they were for me. I also "accidentally" killed the male bandit leader (Maul), but from what I've read he'll respawn after a week, so I'll do the quest then if I don't forget.

You can try the first area of BBI. Depending on your playstyle, BBI may get pretty difficult pretty quickly at level 52. I remember only feeling competent to take it on at closer to level 70.

I'd farm equipment from the chests in the Everfall if I were you.

Am I the only one getting crashes for no reason?
I hired a pawn that when I tried to hire again there was a message saying it had corrupt data, could that be it?

EDIT:
Nope, Cursed King's Belt. DO NOT equip this item.

I've heard about this crash, which is odd because that item is simply a drop from BBI, maybe someone fucked up something and "removed" it.
I have 3 of those, I'll test it out when I get home.

Nah, honestly it's just called "playing the game", it's not like you have to reset everything to do a new game, the game fully expects you to fail things so you can do them later.
Besides you'll get better drops from the everfall anyway.

I've been trying to not say too much, because then you might as well just be following a guide instead of playing a game.

Also on changing inclininations with potions, use them in order of 2/3/4/6 or 2/3/5/6 with your primary last. this will push down the least favourable ones down quite a bit and keep the ones you want high.
-never- use the neutralising one, this will just destroy your pawn.

So the 2/3/4/6 is the number of potions to use? I read use 1/1/2 to push the inclinations. I want to make my mage pawn ultarian/medicant/challenger I think. I like her dishing out the damage but buffing first. Right now she's scather/mediator?

I bought one ultarian and I've created two forgeries and I have one of each medicant and challenger and working on those forgeries.

I am a 10 vocation Ranger, if I switch to Magick archer or something, can I still use my ranger skills or do I essentially start over again? I still want to be an archer but want to unlock the passive skills of other classes as I have nothing left to unlock as a Ranger.

Yes that's the number, it will give you are perfect range of values so you don't have to worry about some weird one replacing one you don't want, 1/1/2 isn't enough to push undesirables way down.
if you want her dishing damage go for util/medicant/scather/mitigator avoid challenger because it will just put her in weird positions.

Haven't really had much time to play this since release. I barely just got out of the initial area to escort that pawn to the encampment. I am playing as a Strider, and I don't have any dodging or blocking functionality. I feel naked in combat without those.

I'll try to make some decent headway over the weekend. Am playing on Hard, so, expecting the battles to be fun once I unlock Dodge.

I want to thank anyone who's hiring my Luce, the system works well now

Still doesn't work for me. Friends have been hiring mine with no reports back on my end, and vice versa.

Getting annoying because I need RC to progress in bitterblack isle.

I finished act 1 this weekend. I keep going from being so into the game to wanting to turn it off. Something to do with pacing issues with the quests, or I'm just playing it wrong. It's like after I finish a quest I just sort of wander until I figure out what to do next.

Does the core gameplay loop stay the same? Does the story ramp up? I could see this game being much like MGSV to me where I put in 15-20 hours and call it a day after getting what I want out of it.

So smooth though.

The main quest has a pretty good pace, you can finish it in about an hour, though if you keep doing side quests it never really ramps up.

It's also really cool favouriting some good/fun/cool pawns and seeing them grow as you play. Wulf (I think that's Tharp's pawn) is, for instance, growing just beyond me and he's now a formidable warrior, whereas my pawn has stayed a tanky fighter. Together they are quite a duo.

That's indeed my pawn! I'm glad he's working well for you, I tried to deck him out in good gear.

My my..

This game gives you a same kind of satisfication like Dark Souls. When you finally defeat difficult boss after multiple attemps.

This game is such an underrated gem. I expected it to be good, but not this amazing. I haven't been addicted to a game in so long.

Dragon's Dogma 2 is probably one of my dream games now.

--------

Can I still get the gold idol?
Fournival was guilty at the trial, and i haven't done the daughter quest yet. Will that one still appear?
Otherwise I'll use the silver one, no big deal.

Some dagger/bow skills overlap (anything without a class icon in the description is a global skill i think), core skills are available to all.

Frankly, the game has a lot of overlap between classes and is so generous with allowing class-switching that it actually encourages you to switch often. You should try out mystic archer and assassin (and from there branch out into spellcaster or melee classes if you enjoy those elements of the hybrids).

Just ignore the sidequests then. Only do main quests or those that seem interesting to you, or escorts missions only if they bring you to areas you haven't visited yet.

If you haven't fought lots of massive monsters, you've barely scratched the surface

Awesome. Thanks for that. I guess I have a lot of forgeries to make eesh. I only have 500 rc as it is. I'll probably just grind that out tonight and make my pawn more desirable.

Put anodyne (not high anodyne) on your pawn and I'll hire her for a bit so you can get some (a ton) of RC ;] (also post your name so I can search)

Alright thanks, I will try out magick archer tonight.

I don't get it.

Killed Damian, went back into BBI, found a Fire Drake, couldn't kill it. It was taking a sliver of damage from a full Thousand Kisses to the chest. I have 1600 Strength.

What the fuck.

Edit: Nah, game is bugged. It's health isn't moving from any hit any more.

i don't get why when i ask the game to search for the map location of a mission it always points me to the same place that has nothing to do with anything

I have tons of quests but no idea of where to go to complete them

Drake went even further beyond to become super saiyan dire drake.
Yes they have a ton of health/defence and can kill a MA in 2/3 hits.

I was quite amused last night when my pawn brought home a rock as a gift from a generous Mr. Gorebrien or sth.

Her line "I tried my best" made me half heartbroken and half laugh out loud.

Post Daimon BBI gets much harder. The Fire Drake also has one of the highest HP of any monster in the game and it does take some time to kill it. Out of curiosity, are you sure you are dead on attacking its heart? You might have been off slightly. Lastly, weapon?

Do you have a particular mission selected?

Best dagger in the game. It's health isn't moving anymore when I climb onto the heart and Thousand Kisses. There's plenty of blood, and no damage.

anyone else still not getting RC/had their pawn used?

I haven't yet :( not sure if I'm still bugged or just no one used her. Either is plausible. I rested in an inn a few times and hit the rift last night with nothing.

Whoa thanks :) she has high anodyne right now. Is it possible to downgrade it? I thought it replaced the lower tier automatically.

I'll change it out when I get home from work today.

Pawn's name is Kayla. Mage Level 21 or 22 depending on when I last rested at an inn. Blue hair with pigtails (lol).

I think you can access Bitterblack Isle very soon in the game - maybe the first encampment, where you fight the Hydra? But from my experience with the PS3 version you'll probably struggle going through BBI at level 52. I was about 60-something when I got there, and still struggled. Was about level 80-something when I was more comfortable fighting there, and never ended up finishing because one of the bosses kicked my arse. Most enemies are far harder than anything from the main game, besides some in the Everfall.

Edit: Wiki says Brain Splitter is supposed to damage the heart like with other drakes. It's doing a tiny, barely visible sliver.

Edit: What the wiki doesn't say is that is has high physical damage reduction. If you don't do a certain amount of damage per hit, you do nothing even to its heart. Swapped all my augments to +strength and used for Conquerer's to actually do damage to it. Lord.

Nah you can't downgrade it I think, but it's not that big a deal for me, I got a pawn who draws aggro, but generally high anodyne takes too long to cast and if you aren't pulling aggro away from the pawn, they'll just get interrupted while casting it.

So, I apologize is this has been answered already, but is there a consensus on what the best ENB preset to go with is? Any presets that aren't crushing blacks at night?

im going to take a guess and assume my pawn (who i made a brawny woman with brown pigtails) is not getting RC cause she doesn't look particularly cool....

i wish i was as creative/artistically gifted as some people :C

What weapon combo is the most funny to use with the assassin? I'm going right now with sword + bow, really liking it but I think I had more fun and played more stylish with the daggers + bow back in Strider. Have not experienced the shield yet

I played this a lot on PS3 but the pawn potion system is still a mystery to me. Say I wanna make a healing/dps mage, what potions do I need to drink in what order? I have no clue.

Playing Ranger..liking it. May want to try assassin but dunno what weapon combo. Tips?

That dragon in the forest near the lake was tough as fuck.

one of the things that I don't like about this game is that most big bosses on the world field have minions that helps them like goblins, thieves or harpies.

nothing more annoying a million showing up out of nowhere to kill you instead of the boss even tho you think you killed them all.
