Game looks fugly.

It's worth mentioning, this is not only a bad screenshot in terms of the location, but it's not maxed out. No AA is enabled and the depth of field is off.

Very bad and stupid people already leaked a pre-release build of the game which is now available for download on torrent sites. Let God's curse fall on those responsible for this sin against humanity and all the good in the universe.

Can someone who played trough the whole game on console tell me which class is the best to play with? I don't want to spend 5h playing with a warrior only to realize that it's the worst class xD

but learning which class do you like the most is part of the game. However, at the beginning, you'll have to choose fighter, archer or mage. Just choose what you like the most (daggers and bow, sword and shield, or magics) and you'll be good until you will be able to change class or get the hybrids. Just try them, it's fun.

I hope this runs at 60 FPS at 1440p with decent settings on my 660Ti. I guess it will since it's essentially a PS360 game. I don't want to replace my card until Pascal comes out, and I just bought a new monitor.

There's no best. Just different.
Warrior 1H and shield (I think it's called Fighter if you specialise in it) is generally balanced.
2H warrior is more heavy hitting but slower and uses charged attacks so good timing helps.

Then you have Mystic Knight which is like a sort of Paladin or Spellsword. So it uses a 1hander and a shield but uses magic buffs and a few range magic spells.

I think I only played Assassin and Mystic Knight and generally liked both about the same.

I second this. Choose what basic build you might enjoy starting with, and see how it goes. It's not that long until you get access to all classes, so you can't really go that wrong.

In case you're wondering, bows don't have ammo count for regular arrows. Fire until your fingers fall off if you like.

The best class is the one you're having most fun playing with at any given time, which is entirely dependent on what you like and how you would like to play at said time. Every class has its place and not a single one of them is bad.

Try everything, find what you like. Maybe explore outside your comfort zone to see if one of the crazycool abilities from another class would also tickle your fancy.

Really depends on your playstyle, although I do think warrior is probably the most difficult to play out of all the classes.

thanks. so it won't be like the elder scrolls community which made some mind blowing mods (content and graphics wise).

Growth from adversity? Some of the best mods .. bla bla bla.

But yeah it would be fantastic if Capcom embraced mods on PC like Bethesda has.

There really isn't one. Your best bet is to just try out all of the vocations and see which one is closest to your ideal playstyle and stick with that. They're all equally viable.

I wouldn't be so sure that its impossible, just not very likely. We got dedicated folks right now modding games that shouldn't be moddable like Battlefield 3 and Just Cause 2. If a decent sized community pops up around this game, you better believe there will be a few dedicated folks will try and find a way to do crazy stuff if its even possible to do it.

Why do people think blurring everything outside of the object of focus improves the graphics?

I think Dragon's Dogma looks great, actually, and can't understand the complaints. Good art direction.

Because some people realize beauty is in the eye of the beholder and do, in fact, like the effect? As long as it's not too heavy, I personally love DoF.

Eh, it doesn't "improve" graphics, but it can hide distant uglyness (low LoD, blurry textures, etc) that is pretty common, especially in open world games.

Also it just looks pretty damn nice when done right, IMO.

Pretty much what I was going to say.
You can argue it's a matter of taste of course. My taste tends to favour DoF being on in games.

According to /ddg/ the archives and textures can be extracted (and edited/repacked) by using Sectus' arctool with DMC4SE flags! So that's a go for texture mods :)

This, good DoF is always nice.

'Because it helps mask bad graphics' and 'some people just have different tastes' and 'it just looks good' aren't the most convincing arguments. The latter two aren't even arguments.

Hiding bad distant LODs is a good argument, actually. Care to explain why not, beyond just lazily dismissing it without producing a convincing argument of your own?

You asked a very simple question about peoples opinion on something, and didn't even give your own opinion on the matter. Not sure what you are expecting here...

yaaaaaay
maybe that means that the 3dsmax script will magically also get the material conversion stuff fixed with more folks working on it

also since monster/item replacement is supposedly super simple according to sectus that's great news for making the game more replayable in ng+/making encounters more fresh in general i guess

I'd maybe rephrase 'bad graphics' to 'limitations'.
Are you saying depth of field in games is completely a good or bad thing and doesn't involve subjective preference? If not, I don't see how it's not a valid argument.

The game needs really an i7 4470, with maximum scaling distance an i7 860 oc 3,7 GHz can't hold 60 fps… God capcom it's a ps3 game remastered… i know it! 😔

I don't know man, I have tried for 30 min before uninstalling (got the steam version preloaded, will play that), with an i5 3450 stock and 780gtx doesn't seem to be any problems to play 2400x1500@60fps... maybe later on it get's more demanding, but I think it runs fine.

AA it's just FXAA with a couple of different presets.

I got the screen with DoF On and all maxed, afterwards I change the DoF to off, I don't really like the effect that much.

By the way, as other posted has said, that is probably the ugliest place to make an screenshot during the beginning of the game.

I hope I don't get banned for this.

So for those of you who played the game on console like me, what was your favorite enemy that you are looking forward to fighting again?

I cant wait to fight the chimera again, it is such a good fight every time you encounter one. They really captured how brutal a fight would be with one of these if it were real. The way the earth trembles as it moves, its roar knocking you to the ground etc.

I also like how you can make it more difficult for yourself by not destroying the goats head straight away for example.

Nice, i also got a 780gtx but a better OCed cpu, 3770k at 4.4ghz, and a 1440p monitor so this is great news for me.

For a game that came out in 2012, you are damn right I expect better than this. R* did way better and that game was 3 years old. Do not give me the excuse that they are a smaller dev team, or whatever other excuse. You have 3 years to remaster or spruce it up, this is abysmal. I know this game is a Neogaf darling, but excusing what I'm looking at is not happening. People need to call it out for what it is. Capcom is a big studio, they could have afforded to do something with this game. Using the excuse that it looked bad on last gen consoles, or that it somehow doesn't have to be at least graphically decent is terrible.

Here is a screenshot of Oblivion that came out in 2006 ON THE PS3:

jua9qG1.jpg

Now make gifs comparing animations, both in quantity and quality. Compare enemy design and behavior, character creator and so on.

Budget isn't infinite, and what you see on a screenshot isn't everything there is to how good a game looks.

|OT|Modding Into Free

This is actually fucking amazing.

I do the same, i wanted to know how it run, and in some spot in the village game slowdown with distance scaling at maximum. Now it out of the village seems to hold up very well, maybe there's some spot here and there!

Well my expectations in 2016 is something that doesn't look like it came out of 2006.

If you are going to port it, but at least put some effort into it, else it feels like robbery.

Are you for real?

Yeah so much better.

Compared to Oblivion? Yeah, it is so much better.

And I'm going to assume you're just trolling, because those Oblivion shots look like utter shit. Even on consoles, DD looked great, but was severely hamstrung by console limitations which resulted in a bad framerate and black borders.

At least with the game leaked we'll know all kinds of stuff about the port like which settings are the most demanding while making little difference and all that when the game comes out.

For anyone wondering about AMD
R9 390 @ 1150 core/1700 mem, 15.7.1
4k running at 60 fps most of the time except for random spikes inside houses for some reason when facing a certain direction

First town in game looks like shit tho (regardless hardware limitations). Looks better once you hit the road.

Love the bit of verticality going on in the first town, tho. I immediately knew this game was going to be fucking awesome when I was jumping around the area of the screenshot posted above and found a hidden chest.

yeah, in general, the vertical exploration is amazing in this game.
