Really want to play this but I don't have strong PC, only decent laptop. My laptop specs:
Core i5-4200U 1.60GHz
RAM 6GB
Geforce 750M
Is it ok to run it at 60fps and low settings?

It should. For reference (from the leaked version):
- i5 750 @2.6 non OC
- 8 GB RAM
- Radeon 280 3GB non OC

With everything maxed (except draw distance, I haven't played around with it) I get 50-150 FPS on 1080p. The under 60 FPS portions seem to be bugged as there's really not much going on when they happen. In normal gameplay, it's above 60 easily.

I wish I could play this at the same time as a Souls game (currently going through bloodborne), but I just get so fucking confused with control schemes that it's so counter productive! #1stwordproblems!

I'm still not sure to start on normal or hard. I loaded up my old save on the ps3 and saw that I was playing on normal there. I remember there still being some challenges (of course I was hopped up on post surgery pain killers at the time). Maybe I'll just stick with normal. The only reason I don't like the idea of hard is the increased stamina usage. That sounds more frustrating than challenging.

nope, mine is clean too! I have the same problem of dick justice, and with distance scaling at medium i don't have any problem.

And for the record,

So much

GAF:"Gne gne gne your cpu it's too old...of course it has frame drops" later we discover that dips happen even on a i7 4470k....

yeah too old my ass! :p

it's not a perfect port, just this, it's more a brute forcing thing that work here!

Deal with it :D

Except I was getting (minor) dips due to my GPU, not CPU. Your processor is old, deal with it.

Always this one:

Because best build and maximum role play potential.

Best build part is a lie. Everyone knows Thousand Kisses spam is the king.

as someone who has spent a lot of time in MH trying to be a psychic greatsword badass this gif and others like it definitely drummed up my interest in DD. But from reading about the game it seems like Assassin is the overwhelming favorite. Regardless, class switching is apparently encouraged so I'll try everything.

People getting excited about that gif will soon find themselves in the harsh reality of jump attack spam... But not before being trampled at least once by one of every boss type while trying (and failing horribly) to pull an Arc of Deliverance hit like that.

How quickly do you level up if you do ~ 70 % of the total quests?

I'm thinking about what vocations I'm going for and how I divide them in the lvl100 range, as stats don't increase much at this point. I don't won't to play or rather switch every vocation in one playthrough.

Its definitely more frustrating than challenging, the game isnt designed with the idea of getting 1 shotted in mind. And you will get 1 shotted early on. A lot.

The extra stamina usage just makes killing things take even longer, increasing your chance of making a mistake and yup, you guessed it, getting 1 shotted lol.

I only like playing hard mode when i have more abilities at my disposal.

You can level up, and level vocations, super easily with this neat trick. Unless they took it out in Dark Arisen.

There's just a place with some infinitely respawning skeletons that give a load of vocation points and exp.

You can max out a vocation really fast, I remember just going around the map on a killing spree with my pawn and I maxed out (or close to?) Strider just from killing everything for a game day or two.

Don't forget to throw your main Pawn into the ocean to get the full share of XP.

Play a Mystic Knight then. It's a spellsword or paladin type class.

do you pick that class from the beginning?
and I do want to be able to unleash the most powerful spells, otherwise I am not happy.
I was just wondering if others maybe preferred to play melee or mage/melee hybrids because this game seems to favour them because of the climbing

is it possible to take direct control over your party members?

Only the sorcerer can cast the most powerful spells. You can only take direct control over the Arisen.

I'm not talking about grinding (fighting monsters etc. in one area).

So how many would that be under level 100?

I was almost certain that I wouldn't have time to play this on launch, but now I'm starting to feel like I need to make time.

That sounds along the same lines of my thought process. I'll probably be starting normal and maybe do the NG+ on hard like other have suggested. If I even make it to that. I generally don't do NG+ or DLC in these types of games. I get my 50 hours in and retire it lol

I have no problem playing on Hard (i always do). The fear of being one shotted keeps up to my attention and makes rewarding overcome every challenge. But i can understand not everyone wants to play like this.

g.

As a great sword user myself in Monster Hunter, the class in DD does remind me of MH in a lot of ways. Though of course the game shares more of its DNA with Capcoms other title, DMC, it was still a lot of fun to play and try to land the charged up moves.

I switched to charge blade in 4U so you can easily see what kind of player I am lol.

And Assassin is good but you should play whatever you think looks cool. All the classes are quite enjoyable. One of my surprise favorites was the Mystic Knight, simply because of his move set and buffs.

hmm I'm not sure about actual leveling, I do remember by the time you're lvl40 you can kill most of the enemies on the map without problems, so you're probably going to be lvl50ish by the end of the game before all the endgame stuff, I don't think I got to lvl100 in my game

It took me two playthroughs (1 regular and 1 more to get the platinum trophy) for me to hit level 93. I did no grinding on that character.

Plus, vocation leveling has that super easy method past the half way mark in Gran Soren.

I think he stated in the initial announcement that he liked Dragon's Dogma ^^

Well, at this point it should be no problem to mod them back in if they decided to.

oh yea I checked his site and it says
I'd like to announce ENBSeries for the upcoming Dragon's Dogma game. Unless it will not be the worse port than Resident Evil 4 was. Game is not replayable much, but it's great.

haha that's great, didn't know he actually play on consoles too

Conflicted on which class to take. Right now I'm looking at assassin, mystic knight and ranger... but they all look so fun. Good thing I'll be able to try each out.

Even if they do, they're out in the wild now so they should be easy to add back with mods I think.

Makes sense. Though I wonder if that can cause any problems when you put that armor on a pawn and share him online in the rift. Since these sets are only obtainable via item editors and cheat engines, what would happen if someone who hasn't "unlocked" the item in their own game stumbles upon a pawn wearing that armor? Game crash? Save game corruption? Or will it just work?

That thought really makes me worry that people might potentialy fuck up the online pawn system in this game.

can't go wrong with MK and Assassin honestly, they're very versatile and you could solo with them if you feel bored

ranger is the only class I haven't tried
