okay, one more post-game question:

when i got all 20 wakestones, can i go back to the everfall?

i "finished" the game with level 51, now i am close to level 55... 73h played. i love this game.... Monster Hunter was my true love, but i think DD has reached this now...

Really, postgame
is incredible. How could anyone hate skydiving through an endless, (mostly) randomly generated dungeon of doors that's filled with insane enemies and tons of great loot. Exploring each hall to the tune of a melancholic piano while the world around you is turned completely upside down is surreal. Grinding in the Everfall to sell wakestones for all that $1mil+ gear feels so rewarding.

I'm surprised how much Dragon's Dogma makes me lower my guard because I'm usually very nitpicky. There are so many things I can understand people hating about it, but I either love those flaws/"flaws" for whatever reason or just ignore them because they mean absolutely nothing to me in the grand scheme of things.

Doing the escort quest for reynard, is the destination meant to be this far? Gone past 3 chimeras :( haven't fought 1 yet.
That was the first quest I took, and it was hell. If it's not random (are you heading to the Greatwall Encampment?), yes, it's that far. Hang in there. :(

Yeah, I'm so close to finishing but the person I'm protecting only has a slither of health and the Chimera is stuck on my guys ass lol.

Edit: just finished it :)

The post-game propelled my view of the game from "really good game" to GOTY.

As long as you don't speak to the girl while having 20 wakestones in your inventory you're fine.

alright, then i don't hand it in! thanks.

edit: my innkeeper is still not there. mmmh. shit. where should i manage my inventory now? mmmh, then i have to set my portchrystal at the encampment and buy a lot of ferrystones -.-

Pawn question: When a pawn is added to the favorites, is it added as-is (meaning it'll maintain its level, skills, equipment), or if I revisit the pawn will it have progressed?

Loving this game. Just loving it.

it will continue to level from the other person playing unless you've already hired them

The latter. Sometimes people will drastically change their pawn and screw you over. (I had a favorite klepto Ranger pawn that suddenly became a Fighter who was useless for my party.)

I hate it when this happens. Had a buffing mage pawn but now she's a midget warrior with a giant two handed sword. WTF.

I don't understand...these people who make their female pawns knee-high. It's strange. The rift is filled with knee-high female warriors and fighters. Is this a joke? Or does this actually please people? My female warrior is built like a brick house.

Has anyone seen a couple of high level Pawns named Sasha and Maxima? I'm not sure they're made by any player since they dont carry a online id and they cost 0 points to boot.

Height actually affects some stats, but I can't remember what.

They're probably Capcom-made special Pawns.

Yep. There are a LOT of Capcom pawns once you hit 50+.

I accidentally made mine too short because the demo didn't really have anything to base "scale" off of, but I think most are intentional.

For those with Mage or Sorcerer Pawns, I recommend buying the Utilitarian's Elixir at the Rift Shop. I think it's the best inclination for spell casters since that trait will have them casting spells nonstop. Having the Scather's Elixir as a secondary trait makes your Pawn target the strongest foes too.

BTW, where can I actually see my pawns behavior stats? I know there are stats shown when making your pawn... but during the game?

There are some spaces or passage-ways that only 'little' people can go thru - Shadowfort is one. Annoying yes, but I don't see 8-ft pawns so much.

Yep, Utilitarian + Medicant = amazing heals/support for my pawn.

Go to status, and then scroll down and it should show stuff like height/weight and primary/secondary behavior.

Those holes only benefit tiny Arisens, I believe. You could never command your small pawn to go through there while you stay on the other side.

The game has an odd sense of scale sometimes - I feel like everyone I meet is too short. My Arisen is tall, yes, but not max height. He looks normal next to doors and furniture and the like, but he towers over everyone else. Has anyone else noticed this?

(For those who are curious, tall pawns have better reach and a wider step)

Alright you bastards, I caved. Was planning on waiting on a price drop but after all the insanely high praise and positive impressions I figured what the hell and I just ordered the game.

Yeah, my Arisen is around the middle mark for height, and is still a head above pretty much everyone.

Don't think I'd make a small Arisen. The weight limit is terrible.

Five thousand posts of circlejerking nets yet another victim! :p

I really do love this game.

The Post game is fucking amazing...I cant believe how awesome it is

My pawns keep getting eaten, thrown into endless chasms, possessed and dragged to hell and petrified ...it's wonderful. Im gonna take some time before I go to the everfell again, should I see the duke first or just start my freefall? does it really matter?

Question, how do i check total playtime and ingame time?

my game of the year easily, halfway through NG+ planning to go into post game as a power house..

first time acting assassin's "easy kill" on a warrior bandit= i came a little.

JUST BOUGHT THE GUIDE. I've been trying hard to not buy it but I just had to. Now I don't feel so lost with the quests and stats. Seems Assassin has the highest Strength including the augments you get at night

God's had his chance.
This is how addicting this game is. I spent my entire lunch and decent portion of my not-lunch at work today putting together multiple augment sets of 6 that I want to test to maximize my effectiveness as an assassin. Step one is to max out strider real quick like. Then Warrior and possibly fighter.

And I'm still going. cannot wait to get home and get to testing. Good god i love this ish. I've taken so many pictures but have yet to get them off my ps3. Is the usb stick the preferred method for the neogaf folks here?

Oh .. and a quick shout out to Jagaman - as one of the few Gaffers that added me early on i've watched his pawn grow over the last week or so. Dude he's looking RIPPED! lol ...

also - i forgot the name "independent" something something .. i could have swore he was a gaf member .. added me as well and I ran into his female warrior pawn last night. Thong, Chest covers and fur shoulder padding to go along with the gryphen sword... hawt. Hired immediately. She's gonna help me kill my first drake... tell you what.

yes, go into the menu and to history. there are a bunch of stats! also, in the menu [] (square on ps3, i assume X on 360) brings up a chronicle.

easy kill is really nice! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQXDHLqEwOk

i actually solved the mystery about my innkeeper. he sits in cassardis in my house. because i raised his affinity. damnit! in NG+ this will not happen again :lol

USB approach works, as does navigating to abload using the ps3 browser and uploading through that(lazy so I do it this way)

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
Tried the reynold escort at lvl. 15. Survived past a chimera, killed an ogre on a cliff face. Took down 20 bandits at the fort. Could not clear the final chimera and swamp ghosts near the end. Reloaded back before the quest started.

An epic fail that was so goddamn awesome to attempt.
