Dragon's Dogma |OT| For the night is dark and full of terrors

ixix

Exists in a perpetual state of Quantum Crotch Uncertainty.
I finally decided to stop messing around in the post-game and move on to NG+.

I had way too much fun with the ending.

Man I must be lame because I'm totally enjoying the DLC quests. They're dinky but sort of perfect diversions. Platforming in this game is pretty satisfying.

Also, Jasper in the Land of Opportunity seems to have vanished :/

Holy fucking shit at the "ending"

DAT FINAL BATTLE

DAT MUSIC

DAT WTF IS GOING ON

DAT WHY DON'T YOU HAVE A SEAT OVER THERE.

This game is my GOTY.

Holy goddam

A & B) Yes, you lost access to some weapons, but now that you are in the end game you have access to better equipment.

C) The story is not over yet. There are still quests you can do. You can also get out of the everfall by taking the path past the girl pawn who is asking for the 20 wakestones. Plus all of the best loot in the game is contained in this area. If you are up for it, ever other area in the game now contains surprises. Collect the 20 wakestones and turn them in to end the game.

D) You can go back out to the vendors in Gran Soren, or some of the levels in the everfall contain pawns who will sell you goods. They are expensive, but are worth it for their power.

funny that I read your post... AFTER i sold the stones to buy a 1336000 dollar sword. I don't think it'd be too difficult to get them again. It practically throws it at you

How do you get the enemy boss/es to respawn? Sleep 3x nights at the inn? I want to farm and make lots of dragonforged weapons. where are the dragons/wyrms now in the overworld?

That Arch Hydra was OMFG so great to kill. Unlike Demons Souls/Dark souls which is punishing and doensn't have a fun/much startegy (debabtable of course); DD really gives you bosses which are inventive and fun to fight.

^ agreed. Already said its my currentGOTY. haven't play anything this engrossing and fun all year. Its really something else.

*until I play and see if LASTOFUS can beat it

My pawns keep falling off cliffs...Nothing worst than bad A.I. :(
Yeah that happened to me during a quest. I had the pawn hold the quest items and on my dash out of the dungeon he must've fallen off somewhere as I was down a dude on exiting. Luckily the items just go to storage but it meant a long run back to town and back again just to turn over the quest items.

i finished my first drake battle. i barely had any items on me and a bunch of new, unproven pawns, so it was pretty intense. battle was long and very satisfying, too.

yea, this game owns.

Got the game yesterday. Enjoying it so far. Reached to big city after escorting caravan. Well City looks very dull and too big. But i love running at outdoors and killing enemies.

The only problem is.... I HATE AI CONTROLLED PAARTY MEMBERS in every game. I wish there was a way to disable them but damn they are part of the story i think (and sounds very silly ).

Problem with pawns is they just make the battles very messy. I cant understand what is going on at fight. It turns in to a button smashing and healing items spamming. Wish it was more strategic or solid.

Listened to the GiantBombcast recently and yeah, i'm with Patrick regarding the criticisms of there feeling like there's no point to the world. Both in the scope and the mythology.

I've been wandering around for a few hours now, am at Lv.24 or so, and am starting to get bored doing these lame ass quests

Need to head back to main quest line I suppose...

so that quest near the start where you go down the everfall, after you get to the bottom how are you supposed to get out?

i tried just running
to get away from the endlessly spawning tentacles, since there didnt seem to be much point in fighting them, but my pawns follow too slowly and keep getting left behind and dying, even though I keep spamming 'come'. then eventually i get one hit by a tentacle..

i can't easily level up any more because I have done all the side quests, I'm like level 13/14 now, surely that should be enough so early on in the game?!

You just need to run back to the top, just let them die, they are suppose to protect you with their lives :p

You can solo, if you want. Dismiss pawns at the rift and chuck your main pawn off a cliff.

Your Pawn'll just chill in the Rift until you go there and call it back. All its stuff that it's carrying will go to your storage.

Finally got back to playing this game last night. Absolutely missed it and I caught myself playing it for another 4 hours non-stop. Finally did the Everfall quest and I easily bested that ogre/troll? downstairs on Level 25.

Anyone know which story quest finally brings in some new armor pieces? I am getting sick and tired of the same old stuff. Do I have to do all the quests I get from Ser Maximillian?

Outside of chests in dungeons, you won't see new items until you
meet the duke
after the wyrm hunt quests.

After those quests? Okay. I can deal with that. Guess I gotta go and defeat those last 2 ogre's in the mine and level up before I venture further. Thanks.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Digital Foundry Analysis

Neither game acquits itself well here, but on balance we feel that the 360 game is the better performer

However, for those particularly sensitive to screen-tear, the PS3 version is the one to get - the experience is still deep and rewarding

Surprising, considering what the IGN review said. I guess installing makes a huge difference on the 360.

Which quest is this? Don't think I've done this one

Looking at the trophy guide it seems like a pretty easy game to get the plat. Doing every non-notice board quest could be a a bit of a pain, but other than that it's absolutely manageable. Maaaybe I'll do it.

Decided to pop into this thread just to say that THIS GAME IS AMAZING.

I haven't been this addicted to a game in a while.
I've just gotten to level 27, and didn't wanna stop playing...
too bad I have to go to bed :'(

but then what happens to my main pawn?!
You just have to touch the Rift stone and voila!

It's pretty early in the game, the first time you go to the Pawn guild.

Yes, it's pretty easy. I just need the Hero (non-notice board quests) and the 10 mil gold one. I can't believe I'm actually going for the plat, it's been like 2 years since I did that.

do we have to do all quests in one playthrough? that would be silly. but i will try it anyway... but i don't know why reynard is not giving me his quest in NG+ i bought a shitload of stuff... no quest

Do the stat boosts on the higher vocations matter much? I'm thinking of keeping my Pawn a fighter after maxing Warrior, but wouldnt want her to get gimped in regards to stats.

its right at the start, first time you visit the pawn's guild. i'm not sure you can even progress the main quest line without doing it.

my main pawn was knocked down way back somewhere but then after I ran out warped to being on the floor right next to me, so I just revived them lol

Um, I don't think it was a
love interest as well, I was like who the fuck is that? Isn't that the guy from the vladios is missing quest from the first town? Game did a close up of the arisen looking him in the face like they were lovers and I cracked up. No joke. I had a male arisen. Outside of that early quest to save that guy, um, he never figured in my game at all so I was fucking surprised to see him at the end.
Lol still probably better than
the duchess.
I also charged into the final battle with almost no curative so it was pretty challenging/heart stopping fight. Perfect if you ask me
I didn't need to heal much since his attacks were mostly easy to dodge. I think the most memorable part was
my pawn latching directly onto the dragon's heart on its last lifebar and going to fucking town with Hundred Kisses. He had had enough of that dragon's shit.

Wait a second...
a "heart stopping fight?" Oh you.

No, you can see in your History which quests you have already done and it doesn't matter in which playthrough you did them. Pretty much every quest is missable, though, so you have to be careful to not accidentally skip one.
