The Griffon ill like fire, burn their wings

I actually don't know I've only fought like 2 in my whole career of the game, I'm thinking High Grapnel could keep them on the ground but I'm not a mage

have you finished "chasing shadows"? this quest will lead you to her shop. it's around the black cat. You'll get this quest from mason at the fountain's square.

Hey after she
disappears and runs from the po-lice, she says she's going to set up a NEW shop. I gave her 50k. Does she set up a new shop and if so where is it? I wanted to get the bottom part of the Sultry Outfit before but I didn't realize she was going to disappear >_< PLUS I gave her the gold idol

She ends up at the inn in Cassardis, but I'm not sure if she goes there immediately or if it's postgame only.

A couple of questions.

I gave the gold idol to Caxton, what do I do with the bronze one ?

Will I still be able to do the escort missions on the notice boards even though I chose to spoke with the Duke ? I only completed a couple and then they all disappeared...

Speak with Madeleine and she will ask for an idol too so go get a silver one and give her that. I've not found a use for the bronze idol myself.

Nope. Once they're gone, they're gone. Complete all side-quests that aren't "kill x of x" that you want to do before moving on with the main missions.

fun fact: in one version of the main menu background is a drake sitting between wilted forest and cursewood. he seems to sit at the river, having a good time. it's a pity that it's only in the main menu. need more drakes in the game!

Just a quick thing I noticed before: You actually get slightly more selling Wakestones to the NPC's in the rift (one in Chamber Of Estrangement anyway) than outside, say at Caxton's.

They are such a good source of money, but kind of a pain if you are stuck for weight, so its nice to know that you can actually dump them regularly once you have your Everfall farming path nailed down.

and I just found out you could use kindlings as torches, not very useful though since you can't do anything while holding it

Hmm... using the Suasion augment gives you 34,500 per Wakestone. Memorizing the Everfall locations is quite painful, not to mention the long annoying animation that triggers when you press R2 near one. Any idea how much they give?

If you hit start during the animation it will skip.

So last night save my game outside the chamber of hope and i'm feeling pretty slick, so far everfall has been pretty easy and i'm just about getting to grips with fighter class.

My roommate warns me this morning that there is a drake and some harpies, and at this point i'm thinking ha that will be easy :D ...

So I Load my file up confidently step through the door into the arena, first i see nothing, when from literally thin air a Chimera tackels me to the ground, i jump back up, thinking WFT! well chimera's kind of suck i'll just ...when i loose site of him only to get tackeled and pulled away by a hell hound, I struggle free only to get zapped by a linch, and then a freaking Gorechimera smashes me away all in the space of about 15 seconds.

Thats
1x Chimera
1x GoreChimera
1x Lich
4x hellHounds (that as far as i can tell just infinately respawn)

I got raped, with serval wake stones, i can take down the chimera no problem but the gorechimera keeps getting healed by lich, and the lich i cant even seem to hit as a fighter and the sheer chaose of the hell hounds this seems literally impossible at level 50, any tips or should i just bail out :p

There's another setup of this with everything the same, except TWO GoreChimeras. I ran into it yesterday.

So I've done all the wyrm challenge quests from Ser Maximillan and the only one left is the Audience with Duke but he warned me that if I go in my other quests will be forfeit. Is he referring the to other Wrym hunt quests (which I have completed anyway), or to all the other quests?

The wyrm ones. All my side quests stayed.

fml I thought I'd get some fancy reward with reynard's questline but I maxed his affinity and he's now gone so I can't lower it, and the game autosaved

:(((((((

I'm on my third playthrough. I don't think I've ever done this before in a RPG @_@

I mean, I've played a lot of RPGs multiple times but not threes straight times after launch.

So when does affinity come into play? I've naught heard of such a thing in game.

There's usually a little jingle that plays when you first talk to them or repeatedly talk to them. So far I have been doing everything I can with Quina. I found some flowers that Cassardis women liked and gave her a few when she was in Cassardis. In addition to escorting her twice, I have been giving her statues that are valued by the faith.

I wish there was a way to see affinity for everyone. I hear jungles with Symone, which is down right creepy. I hear jingles with Asalam but I don't care, I was hoping he's drop the 500 gold price to sleep at the Inn, but its not worth me risking messing up other affinities, when I have nearly 700,000 and I still even haven't done all the quests for Maximilian.

holy shit!!!!

i was waiting for fournival to buy a maker's finger for the ur-dragon and thought i'll do a drake run in chamber of fate...

obviously, i enter and face the infernal trio - you know who i mean. i just hired a sorcerer pawn... holy moly, she killed ALL foes in this room with one high gicel. can't stop laughing.

Yeah. I was playing a Mystic Knight at the time and couldn't even get any buffs or spells off. Was just constantly juggled. Knocked down by a fireball, dragged off by a wolf, knocked down by a fireball I was standing up, rinse/repeat. I pretty much only bring out MK for Ur-Dragon fights now since I fell in love with the Assassin vocation.

You can get augments that prevent knockdown while casting and/shorten casting times by leveling up sorcerer. Mix and match those augments into mystic knight and then you can wreck them with the cannon/ruinous sigil combo.

Mixing and matching augments between vocations is awesome and you can create combos that will make you indestructable.

I'm selling at 34.5k in Everfall compared to 31k outside (no Suasion).

I just made notes as to which chambers contained what as I did them... seemed like the only way to ensure I checked out all 15 areas. There's a nice guide on gamefaqs if you don't feel like doing the legwork yourself which is especially useful as it has chest counts per chamber, so you can basically focus on those which are the most likely to yield nice gear.

Kind of disappointed with the ending. Not really spoilers but to be sure
after reading so many reviews for this weeks ago, all saying the ending was absolutely batshit insane and how I will NOT see it coming, I was hoping for this to be actually true. I love the ending and what they've done with it, but this was all fairly predictable (except for a few minor twists here and there) and honestly I really did see this coming. I mean were they that shocked to see the game didn't end with the Dragon? I can't exactly name other games or films right now, but this has been done many times before. So, it's obviously not the game's fault, like I said: I thought it was a great ending, but the insanity never happened.

But what a great fucking game this was. I'm now doing the quests I missed out on first time 'round and I really feel like I need me more. I've played for 80-ish hours now and it still has a firm grasp on me, very very few games manage to do that these days. Too bad the difficulty seemed a bit low the whole time, not that I didn't die a few times, but I never really got into any serious trouble. Also too bad NG+ doesn't up the difficulty. A sequel should fix quite a few issues the game currently has, but on the whole I consider this to be a near-classic. Kid Icarus still takes the top spot, but this has almost assuredly cemented itself in the top 3 for this year for me.

the ending was bizarre
if I remember correctly, ign said the exact same thing as the oxm uk Q&A, so technically it's only 1 review

you can also use blast arrows for an easy kill. they will drop from the sky almost immediately.

there is an wide open area on the way to bloodwater beach/traveler tomb. lots of oxen around there. sometimes you will see griff or cock hunting there. maybe you can lure them out with a corpse.

I don't think many people expect the game to
end up becoming a self-aware fairy tale. You're definitely right about many other games having stories that tackle similar fourth wall-breaking concepts and/or twist themselves toward grander creationist themes, but most of the surprise with Dragon's Dogma comes from not really expecting any story payoff whatsoever, I feel.

i'm late to theparty but i started last week ...With E3 and all i didn't have time to fully commit to dragon dogma but as expected it's a good game.
However there are just 3 things that seems out of place

-how do i order my pawns ? sometimes i just want to advance and not bother by small fries or big ennemies i wish i could give them orders i recall seeing something like that in the prologue but now i'm confused ..i thought that you could "GO, HELP, COME" but sometimes they don't for example i've trouble with the bandits near witch wood ( i'm a strider ) sometimes i want them to just follow and stay low profile but they don't ..

- how do i know that this quest / or another is too high for me ?
How many times did i try this quest and i realise that i'm unprepared ? given this is my fault but what is the tip/hint to tell me that i shouldn't take that quest or not ?

-Why does some quest get cancelled like that ... it's almost as worse as "talesof" some quest just can't be done if you progress too much If they are timed , then SAY SOMETHING in the description !!!

STUPID COMPLAIN#1
Who the heck complain about moving by hiding on the roof ? I'm looking at you pip !! With no levitate in sight i sure was bothered AND even after all this trouble either i lose money and be an idiot , or i gain 10k and get called "names" .. WTF

Eppy Thatcher

God's had his chance.
Finaly got a bunch of gifts from arc I believe (bunch of warrior/fighter gear and such) Still need my twilight gear (all except the mask which I managed to find myself! Huzzah!) ...

Now, is the Carnation the strongest 1 handed sword I'm gonna find? Kind of curious just how lucky that find was (got the Holy Enchanted sword as well... ) Love my setup... but i need a change of look for my gear... soooo bad...

Nope. Once they're gone, they're gone. Complete all side-quests that aren't "kill x of x" that you want to do before moving on with the main missions.

Aw crap... but thanks for the heads up. So they were locked out because of me meeting the Duke ? They'd have reappeared on the notice boards if I didn't ?

Shit, I hate these time sensitive quests which force you to accept quests as they appear and the fact that resting can lead to lock out. Now because of this I have accepted 2 quests at the same time (witch hunt and the cultist investigation for Maximilian) and I'm afraid that by the time I'm done with one the other will fail...

What happens if someone's pawn reaches 0 HP and I run away? Because I was being chased by a double digit amount of lizardmen, a few hobgoblins and a dragon and there was no way in hell I was going back to revive her.

Ah, finally slayed a Griffon, they had a habit of getting away before I had a chance to deliver a killing blow. Stabbing it in the back of it's head with flaming daggers as it was flying through the air was so fucking epic. This game has delivered quite a few amazing moments like that. Now I need to deal with that big red Dragon that I've ran from several times...shit won't be easy.

Anyone have a Noble Limbs Longbow they can trade me ?
My main character is a level 42 ranger with a level 3 Plain Longbow and I want a stronger bow.
My main pawn is a warrior - do I have to switch him to a Ranger to be able accept the bow as a gift ?
