Dragon's Dogma |OT| For the night is dark and full of terrors

On my first run-through of the game, I found a notice board quest to kill 3 Gargoyles, but never did it and half-way throught NG+, I'm still not sure I've ever seen a Gargoyle?

Any ideas where they hang out? They're larger monsters, I assume?

I have only seen Gargoyles in the main quest in Soul Flayer canyon, which can be pretty alright for loot. You fight one as part of The Conspirators quest, but there's a few more there every few days. They look like harpies with dinosaur heads.

You also meet a few in the Everfall.

So if you do fail an escort quest do their quests respawn at a notice board eventually?

Nah.

The person comes back to life after seven days, but you won't get the mission back.

I was escorting Mercedes once and she decided she was going to go fight a Drake right next to our destination. Had to reload from the last checkpoint, rather than the last save point, because the save always started with her heading toward it.

Has anyone gotten a healthy amount of decent post-game loot without dicking around in try/fail/reload exploit?

Gaming the system through reloads on %-based chests is not my idea of a good time, so I've been rolling around just grabbing whatever crops up. I never want to see the word 'Harspud' again.

i never reloaded chests in this game, but i was in post game for like 30+ hours. long enough to get equipment every now and then and farm the ur. you'll have to keep at it, no other way.

The Duke could stand to commission some new roads...

made me laugh for some reason.

Holy shit we took the cyclops down in about a minute and ten seconds with my 4th pawn with us this time. Technically with 5 since Mercedes was helping too though I can't tell how helpful she was. Honestly would have preferred her hiding in the corner.

Haha, what the hell. There was a huge programming error and complete fortune. How did I get Fournival off with that measly evidence I had? I for sure thought I failed because the Guard I was escorting to Gran Soren must have gotten grabbed by an undead and I didn't even realise and I manually saved when I got there because I thought he was right behind me...

I don't know about you but i gave every piece of innocent evidence (less the forged ones) and the witness and he was still guilty. ;(

My Brother is heated, because in his game Reynard is actually alive and he got evidence from him for a not-guilty verdict, and he was still found Guilty. I handed in 3. Count them. THREE statements on his behalf, and he got off, that was so tense, my colon was literally rubbing on my boxers I swore to God I failed....

Ser Dario (near the northern bridge) sends a guy to the castle to help Fournival, that helps a lot and is much better than written stuff. But still I would hand over all four documents purchased from Reynard just to be safe. Also, you have to buy the land from Fournival for 80,000 in a previous mission.

Once my Pawn said Fournival may be found innocent so I didn't give a shit and waited 4 days, and he was still found guilty :\

I just went to all of the map markers (4 or 5 I think) to gather evidence and he was found not guilty in my game.I didn't even go to try to prove his innocence but rather to find out the truth. I didn't find anything of real proof one way or the other though. Was there real evidence of his guilt/innocence that I could have found?

Yes,
you could find the proof of his guilt at his house
:D

Finally, after 200 hours I decided to change the look of my guys. I bought that item as soon as it was available but never actually used it, so I figured I'm gonna do it before I start a new game :)

Ugh I'm so glad I just found this shortcut through a mine near the main city. Sure it had 3 ogres in it but that's taken care of now and traveling isn't quite the pain in the ass it was.

just go in at level 8~10.

Screw you bro, I killed like two of them before dying lol. I'm progressing further though.

Does installing help load times on the 360 version? Cuz they're kinda bugging me right now.

Also, at lvl 10, showed my unbuffed arrows be as weak as they currently ar. I only ever feel like I'm doing dmg when they have fire or holy w/e on them and using the tri-shot.

Chill it happens. Besides there's nothing rewarding in there.

It gives you a free piece of Maelorian helm and the armor! They're like 100k!

Oh yeah for that quest he didn't even give me a key even after handing over the meat, I had to gift him some random herb from my inventory first

Man, I tell you, there were two super annoying things in this game. I didn't dislike them, just they were so fucking annoying

1. The way hellhounds drag the fuck out of you if you get knocked over. FUCK you Hell hounds, get the fuck off my shirt bitches!
2. The way that asshole does the SUPER ELBOW COMBO in that one mission in the post-game in the Pawn Encampment. You move up on him and sometimes he does like a six-to-nine elbow combo in a row, in which you are almost entirely helpless. I just arrowed that jerk in the face after a while, 'cause his elbow shit felt a little like the way people used to do leg sweep cheesing back in the day

Jam! I am the True Arisen!

I wish I knew beforehand that the "Hero" trophy requirements counted across all playthroughs, though. Found that out on the 2nd to last missable quest; turns out I only missed 3 or 4 on my first playthrough.

The Autonomy augment is fucking sweet! Wyrm-hunting alone and raking in the XP -- got 95k from a single Drake.

Actually fighting the offline Ur-Dragon with Autonomy augment and double XP accessory nets you approx. 600k XP. It's the best way to level up in the game.

I've had a really fun time with dragon's dogma but I think I'm about done.

@ lvl 88 there is really nothing to do other than fighting the ur dragon and farming for loot that is for aesthetics only.

Still I can't complain too much as DD has provided me with 100hrs of quality entertainment.

Man the hellhounds were great, even though they're annoying, so glad I didn't just
warp to gran soren in post game, that path was one of the greatest moment in the game, post game really should've happened earlier, make it like FFVI's world of ruin thing

Yeah

That was one of those "What the fuck just happened" moments.

Dragon's dogma doesn't seem like a title that has long legs like Soul series. It sold 450k in Japan, so maybe in world wide it will reach million. It is still a bomb when its target was 2 million.

I will be extremely surprised if it passes 1.5 million.

So before blame someone else's dictionary, make sure yours is the right one.

Who said anything about a dictionary.-__-

Start a fresh game. Play without any pawns. It changes the entire game completely. You'll actually need to use curatives, and to play carefully and tactically. Every food item you find, you will learn to cherish. And you will also learn that moldy vegetables are always better than fresh ones. Each large monster fight becomes a challenge to figure out what tools you have will best suit the task. No pawns constantly jabbering in your ear means you can actually hear the enemies at night way before you can see them. Every careless sprint will cost you dearly, even sprinting right into a wolf ambush just outside of Cassardis is certain death.

Only messed around in post-game for a few hours and hit this realization fast. I could not care less about what that section of the game offers players.

Despite only needing 3 more achievements for the full 1000 after downing the Ur-dragon once (all readily attainable in NG+), I doubt I'll bother. Great game that gave me a solid 60 hours of entertainment, but I'm seeing zero incentive to dive back in for round 2.

How doable is it? I remember jumping down the well with just my pawn and shit got really real when I got knocked over and lantern going out, going alone against the rest of the world would give me nightmares, but at the same time it sounds fascinating...
