Hehe. That scene really surprised me the first time, seeing
the Duke with spit in his beard, trying to strangle his wife to death... Wow, I really didn't expect that.

Guys, I need some info.

I just fought the
cockatrice
. According to the questgiver of the follow up I am now at another "point of no return".
What quests does he mean that I now have to complete. All of them, including the kill/collect quests?

Jesus heavenly Christ pawns. Stop it. Stop. Stop it. Stop it. For fucks sake. My main pawn is cool, but these two cunts I have with me won't leave the fucking chests in the Ever-Fall alone. They are making it harder on me to reset the fucking chests. If they pick up the first Secret Softener they see.

Some escort quests might be gone from the board if you continue, but any other quest you've accepted will still be there.

Go through alone -- or only with yours, and throw their ass out of the way when they try to open something.

Never had problems with my Pawns opening up chests and stuff. Just make sure you have Pawns who don't have the Pioneer inclination.

Wow so after having taken the long easy stroll down Sorcerer lane I've found that starting a new vocation in Magick Archer to be like slamming into a 90 MPH difficulty car crash haha.

I seriously was not prepared for it to spike like that. Sorcerer is so unbelievably OP. Probably didn't help that I did the
Griffin
quest and... yeah... taking on something big like that with only the most basic of vocational skills for both me AND my pawn (changed her from a warrior to a mage) was proooobably a bad idea.

Was funny though, on my way out of the tower one of my pawns decided it'd be great idea to lose his balance and plummet into the ocean. "What a gaffe!?" Yeah no kidding.

Go do some solo runs at Everfall. There's a room with two Wights, Hellhounds, Gorechimera and a Chimera. It's pretty tough even with a full party. Now trying it solo...

They don't have Pioneer.

If I open the chest and say its a junk item. I usually just walk away, check the other chests and leave the room and they close back again, but when I leave the chests open. They decide to run over to them and from the time I hear " Ahh, whats this " I know that chest is doomed to their ignorance.

I've done all of the quests Ser Max gives you, but I can't turn them in. He keeps saying that I need a Wyrm license before he'll speak to me. What do I need to do?

go to gran soren inn, speak with asalam, manage inventory, withdraw wyrm hunt license (should be under special) and go back to ser max ;) if you sold the license, well - check the black cat shop ... if there is nothing to buy, you're fucked O,o or someone gifts a forgery...

Its not that bad a solo to be honest, I did it fairly comfortably around lvl 100. Needed to use a few meds but provided you take out the Wight asap, its straightforward enough.

Got fucked by a drake so I decided to go ruin a cyclop's day nearby.

This game looks good imo, the image quality and technical problems dragged it down.

Feel like an idiot. I kept wondering how to use certain abilities, and just found out that it tells you in the status menu if you switch details. Turns out there's a second heavy dagger attack I can trigger just by holding the button down.

My mind is blown.

I found the only way around this is to make sure they are a good few feet away from you & the chest, quick save & open the chest. If it's junk, immediately use the Godsbane & use the retry option. Repeat until you get something rare.

It was not fun re-doing that for nearly an hour for one unique helmet.

Wow, badge of vows 39 (DLC)... what a sneaky bastard!

The quest only appears when "Deny Salvation" is active and on the way up to fight the Elysion. Once the dragon appears and the Greatwall gets trashed its gone, and to add insult to injury its actually hidden on a wall in the upper spiral stairwell; you need to shoot it down with an arrow to collect it!

Very epic final boss encounter. Got a nice magic bow and dagger for my MA, was I lucky or do those drops depend on one's vocation? Also got a good part of my gear dragon forged.

Why was that fat merchant (furnivol) there?

You'll get a weapon drop depending on your class - 100% of the time.

Warrior - Dragon's Bite
Fighter - Dragon's Dogma
Assassin - Dragon's Rancor and Dragon's Vein

He's your Love Interest lol. Be thankful it wasn't Asalam XD

In other news, worthwile DLC for DD to be announced soon?

Oh god, no :(. Oh well, at least he's rich, right? And he might not live that long with that big belly of his... Plus his head is on my Arisen's breast level...

I don't think I've seen a single snake in my entire playthrough. I did have the same reaction to chimeras jumping in my face in utter darkness though...

I noticed that during the post game
Dragons pop up in the dungeons in some of the old dungeons.

Are there any other places I should head to? The tower to the east, witchwood, etc; I want to see what else was added during the post game.

there is in blue moon tower. Btw. I finally used my veteran ring thing and its x2 exp. :) Huahuahaah. There's a chest in witchwood that seems to give it everytime you head over and the chest refills. Somewhere to the west/north when you get it.

Wyvern atop Bluemoon Tower.
Wyvern flying around the road to Windbluff Tower, just south of it.
Wyrm in the Watergod's Altar
Drake at the Conqueror's place, just north of Bloodwater Beach, where two Cyclopes were before.
Drake in the fields outside Gran Soren, on the way to the quarry.
GoreChimera on the beach outside Cassardis.
Cockatrice inside Soulflayer Canyon, and around the Eradication Site, east of the Male Bandit camp.
Ogre, Grim Goblins, in the shortcut canyon through Moonsbit Pass.
Golem, GeoSaurians, on the main road of Moonsbit Pass, from the Waycastle to Gran Soren.
Metal Golem in the 2nd area of Witchwood, where Selene went for the Witch Hunt quest.

Most of the new/changed enemies are found on the roads from Cassardis to Gran Soren.

nice! :) I eradication site it to the west of the male bandit camp though

stop grinding the system :) I didn't know you could not pick up the item and try again. I thought people were saving and reloading. Do you only do these to the big ass ivory chests?

huahahha @ fovinal being the love interest. it really is amusing when the game does this.

Is it bad that i still use the basic vocations for my MC and Pawn (Fighter and Mage)?
I prefer fighter than warrior and my main pawn is a dedicated healer/booster with only one high offensive spell. The rest of my team constitutes one ranger and one sorcerer pawn.

So is there any real reason to change their vocations if the basic ones still work for me?

New augments if you want them.

God the combat in this game is so awesome. I honestly like it more than the Souls games, as much as I never thought I would say that.

Just did the quest with
Mercedes, where you end up having to watch her duel Julian. But he tried to trash-talk me before turning his venom on Mercedes, so I said "fuck that" and just killed him. Snakebite to the face, Hundred Kisses until dead while he stood up. Next time don't go and let your mouth write checks that your ass can't cash, bucko.

Trying for a Mercedes end, although it could be Madeleine or Selene since I helped them with quests and ended up with the pink glow on them. I gave Mercedes the Arisen's Bond + quests + gifts though, so I'm hoping she'll win out. Had to threaten that Asalam guy because he was starting to get too friendly (had the chimey noise but no pink glow).

I did my homework, no "surprise" love interest for me. Glad I found out about that before I finished the game and got someone I didn't want, like some people getting trolled with Asalam/Fournival/etc.

Good to hear they are doing something. Worthwhile DLC please. That is all I ask, and you will have my money. No more of these nonsense board quests. A proper fleshed out land and new NPCs.

Noooooo!

I went to the great wall and encountered ye ol uberdragon with a great accent...I just remembered the Wyrm who fucked me up last time....and he's gone :( damn it I wanted to fight him now.

Also I just got easy kill for my assassin....good god! I love the combat system, between easy kill, cutting wind and hundred cuts. fucking awesome, and I have soooooooo much stamina.

Try out the Spiderbite kill, it's pretty cool too.

Wooo I'm pretty pumped!
I finally was able to take down the drake in Devil Fire grove with lvl 40's. Still on my MA, and my pawn is Mage. Had a ranger and a warrior with me; Angel and Pat on on ps3. Hopefully they can take home some extra RC for their owners :3
I've tried to nail that drake so many times in the past, this time I was victorious!

Damm this game is so amazing! Okay back again for another DD session!

Is it just my HDTV or is the darkness and brightness a bit off in this game?

Like it will be midday, sunny and in the forrest the shadows seem too dark.
Same with inside buildings. A bit hard to adjust.

I have game brightness on like 8 or 9 but it still seems off.

I found it kinda hard to get it just right in this game as well. Pretty much even if you turn the brightness way up so shadows look normal in the day time, night is still too dark to see without a lantern so it doesn't screw anything up

Huh, nope never had any problem with it. Are you playing on the 360? It's weird gamma curve always makes it so I practically have to adjust each game individually and they honestly never look right to me.

Game has a massive dynamic range of lighting. It's a feature, not a bug :p

Seriously though, the whole point is to create areas of darkness that are hard for the player to see... without the lantern on.

It's actually quite immersive. I've even turned off the lantern at night to see *further*, so I'm not been blinded by the light from the lantern, even though I can only make out dull shapes in the distance.

Just beat the game and holy shit!
Number 1, that dragon fight was ridiculously hard! But soooooo rewarding in terms of feeling of accomplishment.

Number 2, if Capcom would have brought the story to the surface a bit more, shit would have been even more amazing than the OH SHIT moment in which your character looks down the eventide and sees itself looking down!

I haven't started the eventide stuff yet, but I'm going to take a stab at the story. So this is what I'm thinking, every time an Arisen fights the Dragon and takes the "deal" another layer of reality is laid upon the previous one (generation) so when your Arisen kills the dragon, you break all of said layers and shit hits the fan like whoa?

This game is so gooooooood.

I actually turned the brightness down in the game, maybe I just got used to not being able to see shit in the dark, hate the cloudy days though, so depressing
