So is Twitter functionality borked for anyone else? It logs me in and then immediately says I'm not.

I didnt get to play too much last nite...still in the first town. Im a little confused about the quests. I took on that early one, where you
have to find the flowers for that lady.

When i went to the menu and made it my active quest, you can hit a button to "show on map", and i did that....but it didnt seem to visibly highlight anything. Then when i went back to the game, the little map in the lower corner didn't show anything either. Did i do something wrong, or am i just not getting how that works?
Some of the quests are a little vague on purpose. That one specifically wants you to explore and find them. If you make it the active quests though, anyone with specific knowledge about it will have a red "?" above them. They'll give you clues on how to complete it.

What's the earliest I can become a Magick Archer? I have no idea how to unlock it.

Be sure to have at least 12,000 in gold if you want to go Magic Archer at that Inn because you can not have your own bow any longer, only magic bows and the bow in the city costs 12.200,- gold.

Is there any sort of fast travel in this? I'm fine with it either way, but currently need to go back to the starting town for a minute and don't really want to run all the way back. :)

Also, right at the beginning of the game when you walk out onto the steps after you
wake up from the dragon attack
, (next part is not a spoiler at all, but marked for those who like to explore and be surprised) if you jump down
onto the cliff below the stairs, there is a cave with three chests that hold a Seeker's Token and below that cliff is another cave with a gravestone with some sort of wine.

Yes but it isn't the kind of fast travel you may be accustomed to and it is rare.

So after the PS3 corrupted savegame file fiasco yesterday I switched back to the 360 version, made a dude that I love the look for. Spent some time exploring and was promptly crushed by a rock...good times.

I think I might play through this again now. I thought I would move on but each class is so different it seems to warrant a second playthrough.

This pleases me.

Leaving the Witchwood...my guys were so beat up and so burdened with supplies and materials. I was wishing for a quick travel BUT...the journey back was so harrowing and memorable, it made everything much more enjoyable when I got back to town.

So many pawns with only the two default skills.. Hire my mage if you want 6 skills and an augment! Kidding. I hope people catch on quick and learn to set skills etc.

What is the best version to get?

I know the x360 has screen tearing and PS3 has some framerate issues, but what do you guys recommend?

I just about pissed my pants!

Was walking to Gran Soren, and unfortunately it had gotten dark by the halfway point. Was walking through the narrow passageway with cliffs on either side when out of the damn pitch black in front of me swoops a Harpy and kills me in one hit. :O

Quests are made epic by how long they take. Getting halfway to your destination on an escort mission as night falls and then trying to stay on a path in pitch darkness as you encounter new types of enemies is nuts. I think I lost over an hour for not understanding how the save system works, but still thought it was incredible overall.

Can you elaborate? Did you not manual save in between autosaves or..???

Ok, so, I have an extra weapons upgrade pack code from Amazon - Xbox 360 version. Whoever wants it, first post gets it. I'll PM you the code.

Did you hear their song? You should hear it before they attack.

Man I hope there's a Dragon's Dogma 2 that improves on all its faults while keeping the 'feel' of the game alive.

I get the feeling it either won't happen or it'll be so changed it won't be very recognizable, though.

Yeah, I just wasn't using any manual saves, and I think it only saves you at inns otherwise.

What faults couldn't be fixed by a decent PC version?

Are the GameStop pre-order bonuses those fake kind of pre-order bonuses where the bonuses are actually already included in the packaging of the first run of the game, so I could just go buy it now and get them?

Or are they the real kind of pre-order bonus where the store gives you a code separate from the game packaging?

My only major complaint so far with this game is loot and item pickup. Sometimes it is tough to see the little object that you can pick up off of a body. The worst though is when you find a bag or something and you have to repeatedly press B/O to pick up the multiple items instead of just picking them all up at once.

Man, this game. Dragging myself into work with two hours sleep was rough, but so worth it. I made the mistake of accepting the Courier quest from the boards way too late into the night, and the journey there was epic. I couldn't quite figure out which path on the map took me there at first so I got stuck halfway there (I hoped at the time) when night hit. I probably gained three levels on the wolf invasion before daylight finally arrived.

Which brings me to my main gripe about the game--the maximum health deterioration. It's just a personal gripe though because I realize that most of the difficulty and tension relies heavily on it. Just wish there was a high level mage spell that could take care of it out on the field because I've always hated using consumables in games. I find myself really missing a roll button too, especially after just coming off The Witcher 2. As for the tearing, it's not as bad as I was expecting and it's something that usually really bothers me. I mainly only notice running around town. No biggie.

Other than some minor picky stuff, this game is amazing. Love the art and character designs. The combat animations are top notch. My DMC sword moves inspired me to make Dante and Vergil as my arisen and pawn

I was only able to play for a few hours last night, but I really liked what I played. Atmosphere is great and the combat is fun. I was really worried about the tearing going in, but it hasn't really bothered me yet. The only thing I'm not sure I like is the amount of HP common enemies have. It feels odd to have regular enemies take so many hits to kills, it doesn't feel as satisfying to me.

Elemental weapon buffs for the appropriate weakness seem to help a ton for me.

Whoot, just bought it off a friend at work for 20 bucks (the price he would have gotten for trading it back to Amazon). He played it all last night and apparently got fed up with what he calls piss-poor design and a shitty engine, which the combat doesn't make up for. He's got limited gaming time as a new father so I can see his point. For 20 bucks I'll gladly deal with it.

Also not sure if it's been posted, but here's a Giantbomb quick look.

What class are you? I saw the Strider has a roll skill you can buy but didn't get a chance to try it yet.

"STRIIIIIIIDERRRR (IF YOU THINK YOU'RE HOT!)"
without fail i hear this in my head everytime that word is mentioned.
I wish we could have a hybrid class where we could choose a single exclusive tech/spell from each mastered class to utilize.

They're real bonuses. It's a code printed on the game receipt. All it really does is give you some currency and some earlier access to some things, it's no big deal at all.

Yeah, it's kind of irritating too since if you close the window, it jumps back into the game, to relog, the game quits to the twitter screen again.

What I do is after I log on and it says "login successful", I use the back button on the browser and press on share on twitter again, sometimes it takes a few tries logging in over and over.

I go through the hassles everytime because I wanted to share my pictures

This game is fucking cool. I'm only a few hours in but I'm already digging customizing my Pawn with skills. Have to take a break, I could easily spend all day playing this game.

This is one of those games where the surprises, the lack of hand-holding, and the clever, great feeling gameplay seriously rewards people who have the patience to tolerate some ugly bugs and occasionally really ugly animation and textures.

Not saying the games are really similar, but I feel like mentioning that the reason I got so tired of Skyrim was that the underlying game was so shallow I couldn't keep looking the other way. A fantastic overworld and pretty graphics were pretty much my only reward for having patience with the game's faults, and you didn't have to earn that, you got that out of the box.

So far the game's flavor reminds me of a cross between Dark Souls, old Capcom Resident Evil, and pre-Kunark Everquest 1.
