Wow...I just watched a flock of harpies chase down and brutally murder some random NPC screaming for her life. I hope she wasn't important.
Worth buying the guidebook? I just feel so overwhelmed (just left the camp after heading there from Cassardia. After resting, had to battle).the Hydra
Does stuff like this happen at random out in the world or is it all scripted quest stuff?
Judging by how the game carries itself, I have no clue if things like that are scripted or not. =\Does stuff like this happen at random out in the world or is it all scripted quest stuff?
After the pawn camp go left at the first fork and then take another left when it forks again. It's a ways from the pawn camp.Where the hell is the WitchWood!?
You'll be fine with any class--just choose one that appeals most to you. And if you decide to try something else, you're free to change as you wish. If you really enjoy climbing and slashing stuff, you might want to stay away from Mages and Sorcerers since it's not as satisfying (or safe) doing that with them. Strider is technically meant to be the master of the climbing thing.Im just starting and I was wondering what class would be great for straight up attacking and doing damage? I liked climbing on the Chimera in the prologue and the Dragon, reminds me of SotC.
Lost Cause quest
Where's the damn snakeskin purse? I tried looking around the rivers near gran soren including the nameless falls and I still can't find it

Well, they have access to daggers, staves, and magick bows. You can use a staff instead of daggers if you like or switch between them if you don't mind going into your inventory constantly. Their dagger skills consist of regular dagger skills and Magick Archer-specific skills that have magical properties. If you want to cast spells, you'll have to use a staff. You cannot do dagger and staff since you are forced to use the bow as a secondary weapon. So can Magik Archers uses blades too?
What is a good level to take on a chimera though?
Just spent the day traveling all over the map. My pawn also just got 17.6k in rift crystals. I wonder what she was up to... Plus the dude gave me a 1 for appearance
Just had a tussle with a chimera and about 12 saurians on my way to try and escort Mercedes for the scout quest .. (is the right way to where she needs to go south past the bandit camp?)
Was nervous as hell at first as it was in the distance lounging around a bunch of them lizards so I lyncean shot one and knocked his tail off in one shot... he and a few friends come over and start the tussle and we work them over fairly quickly but the second wave of them pull my group forward a little too far and in like 3 seconds the Chimera is on his feet and in my face covering easily 20 yards in seriously no time at all. We luckily kill the goat and snake at almost exactly the same time and he hits the floor... mount the side of his face and and gouged the holy shit out of him. Half a stamina bar = 1 1/2 life bars .. albeit with a little help from my friends.
We WRECKED him completely. So glorious ...
Directly after this i'm walking along a cliff edge and one of my pawns gets hit by a random falling boulder and off the cliff edge. Dead instantly.... i sware i stood there over the edge like "...... well fuck." for like 5 minutes. Felt bad but i had to leave her thank god it wasn't Mercedes.
the first person that ever took my pawn for a spin and actually took the time to rate/comment on him gave me 4s for combat and usefulness and a 2 for my appearance. I was both proud and humiliated at the same time :X
So can Magik Archers uses blades too?
Aiming for the eye
And he is toast
Something that I really dig is that some of the quests are so long. It feels so damn good when you complete one.
So true. I went straight for Magick Archer when I first started, but I'm totally in love with Sorcerer now. I see myself playing every class eventually because they're each really awesome in their own ways. The extra augments along the way don't hurt, either, haha. What's everyone's favorite class so far?
I've been an Strider, Assasin and a Mystic Archer so far....
tough to chose just one.
I started out as a Mage and made my main pawn a Fighter (no way I would play this without a hunkyWhat should I choose for a Primary pawn? I assume a Tank/dps class??
Wow...you really let em have it. I wonder if you could climb one and stab them in the eye.
So I am about an hour in. It's a bit of a mixed bag for me. I do like the gameplay, but the technical side is a bit disappointing.
- The textures look washed out (360 version), and the npc's sometimes look like they belong in a Wii game :lol
- When wondering around town exploring, the frame rate will suddenly stutter and drop below 30fps for no apparent reason. The town could be empty, and the frame rate will just suddenly crap itself for a split second.

- Walking through ladders, just so you can climb them, boxes that can be picked up and broken, but can be walked through, wrecked boats that can be walked through, etc. Feels like a sloppy unfinished game/engine.

I've been looking at the behavior of characters and mobs, and kinda wonder if the collision being turned off for so many protruding objects, and obstacles, is to help keep pawns and other free-roaming AI characters from glitching. Getting stuck, paths breaking, etc.
It does make the game feel a bit janky in that regard, though after I while I stopped noticing it.
guys help i just restarted for the fourth time to tweak my character and my pawn ;___;
it's a disease.
you could spend your rift crystals on the potion that lets you alter yourself and your pawn once. and even spend more RC on individual potions changing your pawn's characteristics. Might be better than re starting
Its not exactly that but if you are familiar with them, yes it has some direct comparisons and the general feel in a way.Been busy with Diablo 3 and since its freshness still hasnt worn off for me, I thought I would get DD after a couple more weeks (maybe even after a price drop), but reading its universal praise makes me want to jump right into it now. Did somebody say this game is like a 3D rendition of the old D&D arcade games? If that's true then I would literally jump out to get it this very moment.
I'm still a little sour that there's no real multiplayer in this game though.

Texture washout might be due to the thing my brother and 2 other posters had here. Make sure your color settings and HDMI reference settings are right. The 360 Auto sensing of those settings is off. Make sure its NOT on RGB it should be on the high def setting. Black levels should be on intermediate or standard but not on expanded.
I have now walked maybe 15 people through these changes and 11 of them did indeed have their settings wrong. I posted the settings last night in the thread but you can PM me too.
Actually, that makes sense. I never thought of that.
Ah ok. I am running it through VGA (hooked to a Samsung LED TV).
