DriveClub Being Streamed Early by Twitch User

Other circuit games have similar mechanics c0de. Maybe not as fast as the 3 sec timer, but they'll reset you on the track all right.

Yes, similar, for sure. Falling off the track in Mario Kart you are also set back on track, sure.
Perhaps I "played" it wrong at Gamescom as I thought I could go and explore the surrounding a little bit and the game didn't allow me to do that.
Either way I think the timer is a bad choice for this game and will stand by this opinion.

Most Forza Horizon posters really coming off as incredibly obnoxious in Driveclub threads when I look at them lately to be honest. And I don't even bother reading half the DC threads that pop up either :/

I liked it better when most were (rightly) calling foul on this game being 30fps even after the delay, but those posts seemed to vanish overnight once FH2 was revealed to be 30fps as well. What a shock.

Also, "corridor racing" might just be the dumbest phrase I've read with regard to gaming since "Feel of 60fps".

The frame rate for Horizon 2 was known even before it was announced. What are you talking about? All these 30fps racers are making you crazy, bro.

I do agree that corridor racer is just silly. Really, be ashamed whoever came up with that chestnut.

Since when do you go exploring on circuit base racing games ?

I can't wait to see complaints about corridor football games next. Why can't I leave the field and go drive cars in the parking lot? Sorry I missed the live stream, but looking forward to trying out the PS+ edition before deciding on a full purchase.

I refuse to play football games that don't have side-quests and collectibles. So last-gen.

SMH at this thread

No, you generally don't play a racing game to "explore the surrounding a little bit". You don't have time to do that because well it's a race.

Either way I think the timer is a bad choice for this game and will stand by this opinion.

Your post history tells me you will indeed.

I understand what you mean, and hopefully turning off the notification will help. Depends on how quick and what qualifies starting it too. If it pops up every time you get a tire off, that'll be too much, especially if you're battling AI for position around corners.

I do get the design choice, to keep the race going. MotoGPs have an automatic penalty timer that adds time every moment you're off the track. Probably would have been too harsh for a game like this.

Corridor racing is a good one.

I'm interested in a corridor 2d platformer next. Tetris is a corridor puzzle game!

Like it looks like what you'd see if you were taking a virtual reality test to improve your driving. The graphics are nice, but the world itself is just kind of there to me. Nothing about it pops out. The ui is cold and to the point, like no flavor to it.

The snow track looks better than the night track, but it's still just kinda 'eh' to me.

Are you a Forza fan at all? Because if not Horizon would definitely suit your needs. The oversaturated color palette gives the visuals that pop you're looking for and the menus have some attitude with the hot pink and grungy photoshop brushes. Plus the first one was a really good game.

You just say troll or wanna kick off of this thread to anyone who says anything bad about DC.

I love fanboyism.

I mentioned FH2 not for being the competence, but for being a good example of clean IQ that DC dont have.
I have said FH2 as I could have said any PC game with MSAA x8.

God, you are always ready to get on arms.

The share button screenshots from the beta prove you wrong. You're talking outta your ass at this point, and I invite you to look at the Console Screenshots thread, some FH2 screenshots in there that might surprise you. It's IQ isn't as good as you seem to think it is.

And there's a difference between saying something bad about a game, and needlessly comparing it to another racer at every chance you guys get. We don't see any of that shit in the FH2 thread.

Nope, still 'shat'. As in 'he will be shat upon'.

'Shitted' just isn't right godammit.

You do understand that shitting is the verb of shit right? I shat, I shit/I am shitting, I will shit/I will be shitting. I will be shitting, they will be shitting. They will be shiiting on him for what he has done.

Can't keep from giggling on the bus and sounding like a retard

For fuck sake, it would seems it's literally impossible to have a DC thread not get shitted up with comment about framerate or comparisons to other (dis-similar) racing games, or talks about "delays" or crying about how the PS+ versions isn't the entire-full-complete game.

I was pleasantly surprised yesterday when I went into the Forza Horizon 2 Demo OT and saw nothing but open (positive) discussion about the game... no one was in there saying "this looks graphically inferior to DC" or "the physics are too arcade" or, "Xbone".....

I guess it's too much to ask for a DC thread to have a similar level-headed dialog?

I'm surprised no one has compared Driveclub to Destiny at this point.

Driveclub threads are like you're on an elevator to the racing heavens, but on the way up half of the people getting on are farting before they leave on the next floor.
Exactly

No, you generally don't play a racing game to "explore the surrounding a little bit". You don't have time to do that because well it's a race.

So it is wrong to find out in a demo or to be curious which amount of detail the surrounding has in a game much praised for graphics?

Your post history tells me you will indeed.

Ah, the almighty post history card to officially and publically denounce people, that's all that was missing. You are a pro-user *thumbs up*.

Corridor racer is amazing. Just amazing. DriveClub OT now has to have something referencing the fact that it's the premiere corridor racer on the next-gen!

Oh, DC has details, a lot more details than FH2 actually. But you don't need to explore the surrounding to see them.

Well, you're the one who wrote all that. Let's say that hardly makes you an "unbiased" poster.

I'm still jaded over the PS+ edition but outside of that the game looks fantastic. I think Corridor Racer is probably the best term I've seen used this year.

If I had to vote, it would win GAF Term of The Year© for 2014. It's up there with Too Realistic© PC games.

Now I have to know, do you try going off the tracks to "explore" for every single circuit racer you play? Do have any idea how asinine you sound right now?

I can't wait to see complaints about corridor football games next. Why can't I leave the field and go drive cars in the parking lot?

Indeed!

LOL. There you have it.

So all games now should be open world or bust?
Well that would be one true next generation feature i guess, something that clearly cant be done on last gen. ATM fh2 and dc and 90% of the games this tear are games that could have easily been done on last gen minus the graphics of course.

Im not saying every type of game NEEDS open world
