Driveclub "the new" footage in HD

Could those who have a loyalty to another console, or never liked Driveclub and never intended to ever like Driveclub, please have the decency to be honest.
I'm a junior and even I know that's a ridiculous request to make on a discussion forum.

I think this game looks graphically amazing, but I wish they would show actual racing. All I see in these videos is formation driving. It's like they're being very careful to show that the game has no car damage.

Just watched the new less compressed footage. Looks great...EXCEPT...there seems to be aliasing issues. It's a little disappointing because it messes up the IQ quite a bit.

I'm noticing some IQ issues with your post history.

For all those complaining about visuals, do you remember pre release motorstorm Pr?

For all those saying the game looks boring, do you feel the same about project gotham racing 3?

Am I going blind or is the aliasing limited to only the powerlines? This game doesn't look as jaggy as Ridge Racer V to me, however some posters are making it sound as if its as bad as RRV.

Games visuals look good, not great. For having so much extra bun-in-the-oven time, I guess I expected more.

30fps is the only thing that I really can nit pick. Racing games really shouldn't be held back to increase visual fidelity. Rock solid 60fps should be the first thing put on a piece of paper when designing a racing game from scratch.

Yeah, it may just be the powerlines. This level just seems to have a lot of them, so you notice it easily.

this is just lame...do you watch tv shows and movies and whine about them since they run at 24 fps? That video was smooth as ice

whats wrong with you?

umm the video has screen tearing indicating it is not locked at 30...

either that or their capture equipment is borked (might be more likely) Video looks very framey to me and not very smooth. This could be any number of factors though it seems evolution are not video encoding experts.

Nah it's not as bad as some say, and the powelines are the least of my worries. The cars should be clean though imo (this gen).
It would look from good to amazing if the jaggies were gone. They're distracting from how great the game actually looks.

First vid didn't impress me much, but man the second one with the black car, wow, absolutely stunning, photo realistic, much better track, environment, detail and lighting really awesome.

It says x30 time laps on the second video...maybe a dumb question but is that just the sky or the whole race is sped up. When I watched it on ign I was impressed with the speed on the second video, but maybe its not really that fast?
Just the time of day is sped up. You can control this when making a race/event/whatever.

The racing is normal speed.

These are the visuals I would expect at 60fps. Not sure what they have been working on for the past year.

Since its not a simulator, I would go with the visuals and a stable 30fps.

DriveClub looks a bit bland during night-time

Evo needs to get a bit creative and add stars, meteor strikes and a milky way rise to that skybox
That would be fantastic to have random light meteor shower and a higher count of stars. Add some spectacle to the night races. Random fireworks would be great as well ala Gran Turismo

To me it feels like it doesn't look quite as good as it did back in October, but it's hard to know for sure because it's not a proper point of comparison. The new footage seems way more compressed or something, too. I don't know. It still looks quite a bit better than the jagfest that is Gamescom '13.

yes! Please implement meteor strikes, stars and milky way rise into your night skyboxes!

It's almost as if DriveClub isn't finished yet...

I don't tend to enter threads for games I'm not interested in so I don't know if it happens for MS previews, but man alive is every Sony preview thread full of incessant trolling.

Why is it that I don't see the small problematic details until people point them out but I CAN see that this game has got progressively better in these pics?

What struck me was how shit the Gamescom lighting looks compared to the newest screen, back then I thought it was lovely. I reckon visually the game is going to blow my Cerny-face socks off by the time it's released.

I agree but it seems they made some changes. The lighting looks better but the image quality doesn't. I was never impressed with the lighting in the day-night cycle back in October but I am with this new footage.

Looks pretty good. It's just.. Those hands, they look weird to me, for some reason.

One of the best looking racers to date going by the latest 1080p footage. There has been progress and with 4 or so months left to polish i have no doubt Evo will deliver. They always have.

On another note, where is the enthusiasm. You people are too busy nitpicking and not looking forward to PS4's first racing visual spectacle minus Gran Turismo.

There should be a cheat code (microtransaction potential ahoy!) that lets you change them into tentacles, cat's paws or trotters.

There is enthusiasm, mang. You can't stop the internet, people are going to like what they like, and make sure they tell you when they don't. But there are some issues with the game that we've seen so far, even if some of the criticism is a little uhm overblown. Personally, I think Evo will pull it off for release though, like they always have.

It's not just the power lines that have bad aliasing but the cars, too. The frame rate doesn't look quite solid yet, either.

Anyway, the lighting looks phenomenal and I really like the environments. Let's hope the year long delay will finally smooth things out once they're no longer in 'beta'.

Looks very good, but not very "clean", I actually don't know how to explain it. The road right under the car looks weird when you're very fast. Weird effect.

It's probably because the cars are so cool and fast, and the graphics are so good, that the road doesn't know what to do with itself.

So after being really underwhelmed by the youtube clips I have to say I think the clips are really amazing.

-The sense of speed is amazing
-I love LOVE that the game rewards clean driving. When he grazes the wall or takes a turn to slow he gets passed immediately. I miss the skill of a clean run.
-Day to Night is unreal. The Lighting is truly stunning and looks like CG
-30 FPS isn't any big deal at all. Game looks smooth and responsive

I noticed jaggies in the environment but thats it. Game is going to look unreal by launch you guys.

Finally I am getting hyped for actually playing it.

Not "blown away" by the videos but honestly I'm not going to pass judgement until I see it in person for myself, am still mostly excited for this title.

DLC hands incoming.

No but seriously, I've discussed this before. We really should have the option to change our hands in racing games. Different gloves etc, and robot hands, why the hell not? Lol.

You really notice the motion blur plus dithering effect here 2:48 into the video... Dash in particular.
