Dual Analogue controls.

Then I'm at a total loss to why you don't want to use DA even in situations that are ripe for it. Do you have probelms with playing Splinter Cell on consoles, control wise?
Heh, like i said... I refuse to adapt. I'm a very stubborn guy, so much so that I basically don't buy the games for console or even try them if they're exclusive.

I bought Splinter Cell for my PC. I bought Halo for my Mac. I own Halo 2 (CE) for my non-existant Xbox (which I'll buy when it goes down to $99 or less), but I'll probably end up playing Halo 2 on PC or Mac (if it's ever ported). As long as there are ways around playing these games without two analog sticks I'm not going to use them.

BTW, there are some FPS i own on console like Timesplitters and i don't like using the default controls. I own SOCOM 2, i heard some nice things about it, but because of the controls I haven't played it for more than the first two hours. It's been on my shelf collecting dust since then.

Then I'm going back to my original assertion. You suck at teh two things at once! :P

That way, crouching could be really useful for entering enemy bases because you can't be seen on radars, and you could aim without any problems. Right now, I almost never use crouching, because if you try to enter the enemy base, you're dead meat the minute someone sees you.

Dual Analogue? Bah!
It's all about Dual Digital!

I think they made it difficult to crouch-walk on purpose, they didn't want the game to be a stealth game (or so they say in interviews about lack of full-camo for the arbiter..)

As a few people have mentioned, WASD PC players should transfer to Dual Analog control reasonably easily if they can get used to the sensitivity

WASD = Left Thumbstick
Mouse = Right Thumbstick

Does anyone play PC FPS with anything other than WASD???

I remember playing Duke Nukem 3D with no mouse, using the Numpad to look :lol :lol :lol That was hard :D

I use QWES. Q for turning left, E for turning right, W for forward, S for backwards movement. It's a lot easier to move this way because your fingers will be aligned for the most used buttons. I use A and D for leaning left and right.
So it's like this: Offense = top position. Defense = bottom position.

I actully don't find dual analog to be a "logical" progression from wasd, or any other keyboard/mouse combo. first off, middle 3 fingers for wasd does NOT equal thumb for analog stick in my book. there are complete different sets of muscles used, besides the fact that on a game controller you use thumbs almost exclusively, whereas keyboard/mouse is much more of a whole hand setup, and i find that to be much more intuitive and easier to get ahold of, especially for fps games.

It isn't about three buttons and such. It's the combination of strafing and walking forward/backward wich also leads to manoveours like circle strafing. These things work exactly the same on dual analog pads.

I wish FPS games had a fixed turning rate so everyone was at the same level. I hate the 180 degree turn in 2 frames that Quake has.
Everyone is on the same level. It's not that hard to move the mouse to get an almost instant 180° no matter what your settings are at.
It's almost realistic too. Humans can turn around really fast, although not as fast (or as easily) as you see in FPS. If newer FPS made the camera have a disoriented look (as many FPS now do) when doing a quick 180°, might allow for some interesting gameplay.

Unless you mean console... in which case, stop using inferior controls!

you just have to stick with it and keep practicing. you sell yourself and your God given ability to adapt and overcome short when you give up so easily.

there is always a pot of gold to be had at the other side of the rainbow. but getting there has and always will be hard work.

try to have some constitution and dont quit so easily just because something isn't easy.
