PlayStation controllers have analogue triggers and haptic feedback. Much more advanced that Nintendo's so called "Pro" Controller. And they're more expensive.Yeah but aren't the other PlayStation controllers doing that ?

It's called frequency breaking and applying power. Been doing this for ages on the ps2 works the same.Driving games without analog triggers is horrible. I've played both burnout paradise and NFS Most Wanted on Switch and without the precision of the triggers it's painful. It's all acceleration or nothing.
A Moza R3 and some simsonn pedals would run you 450-500 dollars so racing rigs aren't as expensive as you make them to beEither buy the steering wheel shell ($19.99...roughly 1/4th the price of the switch 2 pro controller) or buy a $3500 racing rig.
Frequency braking is in no way better or faster or more comfortable than using normal analog triggers. It's a poor man's excuse. It's called frequency breaking and applying power. Been doing this for ages on the ps2 works the same.
Holy gringe dudeThe Switch gave those kids lots of confidence!! Lol
believe me .. you don't want Sony in the same space, happened before and didn't end pretty for Nintendo.
Be thankful that Sony is aiming at a different category in this industry (high end consoles) and pray that they don't tap in whatever space Nintendo has carved for themselves.
WRC and Grid are even worse.Driving games without analog triggers is horrible. I've played both burnout paradise and NFS Most Wanted on Switch and without the precision of the triggers it's painful. It's all acceleration or nothing.
Guess it has something to do with wireless protocols?I am still amazedy that there are Zero controllers which support all systems wirelessly + Hall Effect sticks + with back or additional buttons...
I would instantly buy one or two...
Easier to reply to you here as this is shorter than your OP.It has to be able to work on a OS level. This wasn't possible on Switch 1. Only if you used a GameCube controller with a WiiU adapter.
And GameCube controllers have horrible analogue support compared to modern controllers.
Thanks. There's no reason to ommit analoge triggers. Nintendo excludes genres and gives players less options. Even in open world games with driving, digital triggers are the absolute worst.Easier to reply to you here as this is shorter than your OP.
I'm flat out amazed at all these folks defending no analog. Like this would open Nintendo up to a whole other genre to flat out dominate. Crazy times. Great thread still by the way.
We forgetting F Zero? That would be perfect for itWhat racing games outsell Mario Kart?
All racing games are good for Switch 2. But only if it has analogue controls. We forgetting F Zero? That would be perfect for it
Analogue triggers have a BIG impact when driving. It's the difference between going flatout or having control. This is spin, triggers don't matter but it does have hall effect joysticks. That matters.
The amount of misinformation going around about Switch 2 is staggering. Haters gonna hate I guess.
If you are playing on a table or your lap...you are neglecting the racing frame which is very expensive.A Moza R3 and some simsonn pedals would run you 450-500 dollars so racing rigs aren't as expensive as you make them to be
But moreover how do you make this work for GTA where you need both land and automobile control? You're not going to be expected to switch from controller to racing sim every time you enter a vehicle
just add fucking analog triggers. Literal industry standard for the past 20 years.
racing game, shooting game, flying game, etc.Wait...is GTA a racing game now?!?!
Still, there should be at least one controller with a switch button or USB adapter, which should work..Guess it has something to do with wireless protocols?
Sure ya can!racing game, shooting game, flying game, etc.
with as many playstyles the game has, you need a unified control scheme for it, & a wheel doesnt fit that as well as a gaming controller
It totally goes against their "gameplay first" rhetoric. Makes no sense. The lack of analog triggers completely ruins racing games on the Switch. Would have been nice to have them on Switch 2.
Nintendo has people excited about camera/chat features that launched with the XBOX 360 20 years ago, so they'll be able to do the same with analog triggers 40 years after their existence.
Not necessarily. Remember the 3DS Ambassador program?Nintendo get away with far too much.
They always have and they always will.
8BitDo what Nintendon't.
It still depends on Nintendo. If they don't allow analogue triggers via OS, it doesn't matter if 3rd parties make controllers with analogue triggers. This deserves 100s of likes...fire emoji....praise the sun....strong emoji...love hearts....brains....treasure...all of them!

It's all acceleration or nothing.
Exactly, the SDK might not even consider them so even if 8bitdo or someone else creates them they won't be able to use them programmatically. It still depends on Nintendo. If they don't allow analogue triggers via OS, it doesn't matter if 3rd parties make controllers with analogue triggers.
Only if you don't play racing games or open world games with driving.Wii U Pro Controller didn't have analog triggers either and it's a GOAT controller.
There are workarounds for this using an 8bitdo adapter, Ultimate software, a pc and an Xbox or PS4 controller. You have to remap the y-axis of the right analog stick to the trigger. It's pretty hacky, but it does work for the short list of games that actually utilize it.It has to be able to work on a OS level. This wasn't possible on Switch 1. Only if you used a GameCube controller with a WiiU adapter.

Especially with a console that doesn't have a dpad on its primary controller and yet Nintendo just doesn't seem to give a shit. It's depressing. If the dpad is still shit this will be an easy skip. Comes before the analog trigger. A proper dpad should be the highest priority on a controller, with the sticks.
Just normal functionality like any other controller on that price point.People are asking too much. It's only $80. What do you want, adaptive triggers and haptics too?
Just normal functionality like any other controller on that price point.
No. And obviously not only kids play on Nintendo consoles and kids also play racing games. They don't care. Kids don't play with those. Do the Joycons not have analog buttons either?
Again, they obviously don't care. It was not necessary to sell 150+.million Switches, they figure it's irrelevant.No. And obviously not only kids play on Nintendo consoles and kids also play racing games.
Nintendo has to allow analogue triggers on OS level. You know ehats the funny thing. There ceryikely be another 8bitdo etc controller with better hw for launch at lesser price so you can just ignore pro controller
It also has paddle buttons, brah. Read a bookThe most hyped feature they listed in that interview is the fact they made the sticks quieter lmaoo. This thing is just a switch pro controller with a headphone jack and they're going to charge u a boatload for it.
What do you mean? Are you saying it has analogue triggers? If only you'd only talked about the triggers. New York Times and Wired would seem to prove you wrong, sir.
