The whole ray tracing naysayers thing all comes down to current consoles not doing it well. On PC it's absolutely incredible and I don't want to play another game without RT or PT.
It reminds me of the 30fps "debate", where 30fps was perfectly fine... until consoles could actually perform at 60fps and suddenly it's a gamechanger and 30fps is unplayable. Or 4k, or HDR, or VRR, or all these other technologies that were talked about as a "scam" because console players didn't have the hardware to take advantage of them. But magically when consoles caught up, suddenly they're vital to the gaming experience.
