Though in this case, why dusk did what he did was beyond stupid. Though the fact that he admitted it kind of gets him off the hook because of his sincerity. The other real fanboys like Tom Warren, jez, brad Sams and klobrie would never ever admit to it.
And i also kind of understand why Sony fans are so jumpy about this. It's been a hell of a year or two with all the github stuff and the outing of Xbox discord. Can you really blame them when the following turned out to be true:
- Hmgqq was the owner of the github folder all this time. And admitted to taking it down to fool us into thinking that amd took it down
- dukeblueballs was Tommy Fisher
- Tom Warren spread shit about the ps5 overheating based on an anonymous comment under a YouTube video.
- brad Sams and Alex downplaying the ssd getting smacked around by naughty dog devs then crying to mods
- Alex continuously spread uncertainty about the ps5 ray tracing capabilities even after the second wired article confirming it was hardware based. Shadows only rt he used to say.
- Xbox era crew getting caught red handed literally plotting strategies on how to attack the ps5
- Alex joining the Xbox era discord crew is simply unacceptable for a DF employee
While i have defended digital foundry and Alex here at all times, i cannot and wont offer Tom the same courtesy. He recently made a fool of himself on era.
I think guys like Jeff Grubb and dusk get caught in the crossfire but this is part of the game. Jason has been there too and has received a lot of shit from Xbox fans for simply saying the ps5 is more powerful in other ways. This kind of pushback isn't exclusive to Sony fans.

When the xbone launched vs PS4, the difference was noticeable on the launch games.
This time, we haven't seen a launch game running on XSX and the PS5 games have only been captured on PS5, so we can't do a full comparison.
As for resolution, it doesn't matter this time around. Almost everyone would agree that the industry is pushing 4k too soon. A gen of 1080p60fps or 120fps, with all graphical bells and whistles would be preferable to 4k@30fps. With that in mind, the resolution doesn't matter.
Please, you and your ILk, stop jumping at Ghosts that aren't there. As Microsoft fans we should be going nuts at Microsoft for their incompetence this gen, not covering it up and pretending it's all OK. The last time the shills did that we ended up with Kinect and the Xbone!

Can I just add, while I have no horse in the race, the blatant lies from the gaming media Re: ps4 in 2011 and 2012 were shocking, while the same media denied, defended and downplayed the obvious short comings of the Xbone.
I'm not entirely surprised that those who fly the Sony flag are relishing the troubles that Microsoft are having.
Though I do wish that Microsoft fans would stop taking the disasters as conspiracy theory and really rally round Microsoft to simply do better. More Xbox 1, less Xbox one

I'm not necessarily talking about this rumor alone. The rumor for months now has been that this year's Xbox hardware is shaping up to be more powerful, while the rumor is that the PS5 may likely be priced higher.

PS5 is going to be 499 for the disc version and the digital is more flexible... you can estimate these things from the forecast for the year.
PS5 will have no issue selling everything they make.

PS5 architecture is way more advanced and leagues better than nextbox in ssd, i/o, certain engines and features so a marginally stronger gpu does not a stronger console make, it's a sum of its parts. Sony will advance and be better in many areas. Only idiots omit tht architecture fact.

To be fair I don't think either platform holder is going to have problem selling everything they make this holiday season. There's pent up demand for new hardware and assuming the economy doesn't get worse, folks will be buying.
This ain't a Wii U/3DS situation.

We haven't seen much from Sony either. Rachet and Clank looks great but it's hardly a gen leap visually. And where is Miles Morales at ? That's a launch game, still no gameplay ? Where is the PS fans outrage ?
Now we hear reports 3rd party games run better on Xbox Series X. And we should just dismiss them because you don't like the sound of it. That's childish.

At this point, xbox fans need to start worry about the Xbox console, since we haven’t seen anything running properly. Now with the Halo delay, and god knows what other studios may struggle with (who knows).
Gamepass on pc is still not really interesting. With FS2020, i will use it again. I think gamepass on xbox has a better value, but the moment Sony talks about the big upgrade and overhaul for PSNow, and opens it up for every dev, i think Xbox will have not much more to counter. I hope for the xbox fans that they don’t push people to much into these kind of services. The majority of the people in the world still want to have something physical, and people still love to have consoles.

If you see the breakdown by Cherno, R&C is beyond anything you can get anywhere currently, the amount of particles, the portals, the ray tracing and the overall fidelity is incredible...
Maybe you think less of it because of it's cartoony style but it is packing a lot of advancements.

I think it's all about conversion to services for them, the XSX is like a goodbye present to their fans who like consoles and will keep them happy for a few years while they try and transition as many as possible to Xcloud and GamePass IMO.

Nope we will get more new Xbox consoles in the next few years , I don't know how well they will sell but they are setting it up so they can release a lot of different Xbox consoles , I think the S will come maybe 6 months or so after the X then it will be another one in about a year or 2 .

Everybody knows the SDD is better on the PS5. But that means only the SDD matters then. So everything else is irrelevant right. The SDD won't help with the resolution you know
