It's pretty clear that a playable demo hasn't been prepared by this point. Aonuma basically said that it will debut in playable form next E3 this morning.
In my cynical opinion, Nintendo probably has a bias towards attractive people since the Treehouse does a fair amount of PR/presenting.

It will release 2015, just live Yoshi, Kirby and Splatoon which gets a lot of playable material.

Traditionally they don't do a fair amount of PR/presenting. Nate Bhildorff did a few Metroid: Other M interviews, and Bill Trinen is usually in the spotlight as Miyamoto's interpreter but he's former Treehouse staff. But other than that, I can't think of many examples of Treehouse members being used for PR. That's why this Treehouse: Live thing is so cool; it's literally the first time many of these people have been in front of a camera to talk about the games they are working on.

Yes, the US is getting the upgraded version of the game. Kinda like a Bravely Default thing; we got the expanded version, etc.
