That gaf reference was unexpected for sure. Although, not really in hindsight, coming from Nick. I wonder how he feels about being attached to the earwolf thread.

Speaking of Doughboys; I thought it was hilarious last week when Mitch was clearly actually upset about Nick giving him shit, seemingly forgetting that he himself sighs, says "oh my god!" in an annoyed way, implies Nick a pedophile, or generally calls him a garbage person after literally everything Nick says or does on the the podcast.

He wants to dish it out, but he's such a softy
and a racist
.

pretty sure they make the shape of headphones
Ah, gotcha. It's cropped and that extra line coming off the headphone for the microphone always threw me.

Sean and Hayes on Spont this week. They're the interview subjects and improvers. Pretty Great. Bonus Sean and Hayes is always appreciated.

Oh shit, thanks for the heads up. Can't wait to listen to this now! Them on other Earwolf shows is always great. I particularly love their episode of With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus.

Thanks for the heads up! I'll be sure to listen.

EDIT: Within five minutes of using Howl on Android the app completely froze. Killing it did not stop the audio and when I tried to bring it up it was just a black screen. Had to kill Pocket Casts for some reason to get it to stop and then it started up again.

Yeah this is the best. Paul is such a disarmingly good interviewer, could easily have listened to another few hours of these three fucking around.

Me too. I liked how honest Sean and Hayes were about each other's flaws.
Yeah, it was great to hear them out of their HH characters while still being really funny. Hayes's tree story was good and Sean is just so naturally hilarious. The improv scene was good too.

Sean's recent appearance on CBB is worth catching up with too.

They seemed genuinely offended that their improv segment was so short, given how they've said in the past that PFT wouldn't let them on his show because he only wanted "experienced improvisers". Still thought they were funnier than most guests, probably due to that they don't exactly play by the standard rules.

Eh, that's a lot to read into the one comment made about it feeling short. The episode as a whole was on the longer side of the non-live ones. Probably could have done more improv if they didn't keep going on diversions when PFT was introducing breaks or the rules of the show.

Finally did something that I should have done a long time ago and paid for Never Not Funny Players Club. I spent the better part of this weekend catching up on older eps from this year. Its so worth it if you enjoy NNF. Having 2 episodes a week now is going to be great and the video adds so much.

Episode 150 of Hollywood Handbook...

I can't believe I have to wait all week to know if it's really, actually the last episode!

It better not be done. Hasn't its subscription count increased a lot recently?

They've been doing better, I believe.

They're doing the Now Hear This thing. It's not the last one, guys. :p

It could still be the last one recorded in studio with the Now Hear This ep being the final farewell to fans :(

The real issue isn't listenership, it's that both Sean and Hayes are really busy writing on shows and the fact that they've been running this premise for 150 episodes... You gotta expect some burn-out to set in and it's not like the show is so popular that they'd be giving up something huge.

It's hopefully a bit, but you gotta admit that this would have been a pretty fitting ending to the show. Perfectly HH.

even HH wouldn't have their last ep be a surprise at the end of an episode Hayes wasn't there for, and if they did one of the guys would say something to confirm it and the Now Hear This appearance would be acknowledged to be the last show. was a joke making fun of Doughboys again

Wouldn't be surprised at all if it ended next year though

I haven't listened to CBB since November of last year. I'm way behind. I think there was a run of average episodes and I got a little tired of it, now I don't know which are worth listening to in the backlog so I can skip the filler :(

I bet they'll switch up their format like they did with RSS. 150 episodes as those characters is probably exhausting as fuck.

Anything with Brendan Small, Jason Mantzoukas, Thomas Middleditch. I think most of the PFT episodes have been solid. Andy Daly is always funny. The entire CBB tour is pretty amazing, too.

I'm wary of subscribing to Howl knowing that I haven't been listening to the regular podcasts though, I'll end up not listening to ones I'm paying for.

All those guys are solid "I know I'll like this episode" picks - I'm just worried that I'll miss out on new people I'll really enjoy, like when Claudia O'Doherty hit it out of the park from her first episode, or amazing episodes like the Calvin Twins. I suppose I could listen to the best-ofs and then just go back and listen to the episodes that were picked.

Well, I watched Loosely Exactly Nicole. I'm a big fan of everything I've seen from Nicole Byer. I was really excited to watch this, but it was pretty disappointing IMO. Nothing really hit for me except maybe the very end.

I think most of the characters minus Nicole are very weak. Only one episode though, so we'll see.

It's too bad that Hollywood Handbook was really canceled last week like you all suspected and didn't have an episode this week with Captain Kangaroo—Uh—Captain Boomerang Bennett where the boys play an excerpt from the Audible version of Sean's new book "It Was My Idea" with a foreword from the real Mark Ruffalo and definitely not Sean doing a hysterical Mark Ruffalo impression

"In my salad days, I would often sit and reflect on what had lead me to the career I'd found. Was it my groundbreaking performance in You Can Count On Me, where first-time director Kenneth Lonergan took a chance on a young New York theater actor in a starring role in a movie? Or was it simply that I met the one man with all the ideas at the perfect time? I think it was the latter, and I'll tell you why. I sit now on my veranda, sipping a tall glass of whiskey, and looking at the front of a newspaper where the top headline reads, 'Sean Clements Had The Idea For The Voice For The Teacher Thing That Beck Did'. The newspaper article is as true today as it was in 1979, when it was reprinted on its 30th anniversary...uhhh what else"

Sean singing 90s alt rock has always been my favorite thing, and just this weekend I listened to the third eye blind s/t for nostalgia kicks. So I had to listen to him sing how's it going to be three times

"WANNA TASTE THE SALT OF YOUR SKIIIIN" "so gross. I hate that. So disgusting" "sah of uh BLIVIOOOON"
