Tom Bergeron was a great guest in NNF. What a fun episode.

He really was.

I also really liked that he came early and was a part of the show from 15 minutes and on. The show had energy.

Also, this thread needs more love for hello from the magic tavern. I was so tired of interviewy shows with guests that it's so refreshing listening to one with characters. The main guys have great chemistry and they have played off all the guest characters really well.

~~ Boys night ~~

Anyone recommend more shows like this?

Hello from the Magic Tavern is great! I only started listening a few weeks back so I've been making my way through the backlog and having a blast doing it. Chunt Please!

Not sure what shows are similar, I mean Comedy Bang Bang sort of is, but Improv4Humans scratches a similar itch as HFTMT for me. It's nothing but great improv from masters in the field, it's so funny. It's crazy it's not more popular. Lauren Lapkus podcast is all characters too and can be a lot of fun. Also, if you are tired of interview shows Hollywood Handbook is literally a parody of those!

Man I haven't listened to Bang Bang in a while. Does Bob Ducca still drop by on occasion? I fucking loved Bob Ducca. Bob Ducca's list of heroes is still one of the funniest fucking things I've ever heard:

I don't think he's been on in a few years. Seth Morris pops by every now and then, but it's typically been one off characters or as Marissa Wompler's dad.

Latest episode of CBB was great. Nick Kroll is funny as always, but he was really pairing well with Sanberg.

Does anyone here listen to Rhonda and Beverly or Sklarbro Country these two are so highly underrated podcasts that I wish got the recognition they deserved.

The ending bit with the creaky gate might be the best moment of 2016 so far.

I was into RnB for a while a few years back, but I lost interest in the characters after a few months. Isn't Sklarbro Country a bigger show? It feels like it is, but I haven't heard it before...

Beautiful/Anonymous really is an exceptional podcast.

Why doesn't Spontaneanation get more love!?

Hollywood Handbook is secretly the greatest comedy project of any medium, ever.

Ronna and Beverly has been one of my favorite podcasts for years. It's totally slept on but is consistently hilarious. It's honestly worth starting from the beginning, the character development and ongoing gags are fantastic.

Strange thing happened today. Went to listen to today's CBB and on Howl's app it shows the episode as a Howl Premium exclusive. Tried restarting the app, updating, etc. still locked it behind the paywall.

I instead used the standard podcast app on IOS, which worked just fine, but I just found it odd. Must be a mistake.

It's a fun episode. Ben Schwartz and Horatio always deliver when they're together.

Totally agree. Also you need to get on that N-word episode and that's like three episodes in.

Relistened to the Shelby Fero episode. One of the greatest jokes of all time...

Shelby: "I don't know... It's kind of gouache."
Sean: "Yes, there are a lot of ghosts there."

Midroll media CEO Adam Sachs has stepped down

Adam Sachs, the company’s CEO, is stepping down. Sachs has been the CEO of Midroll since June 2014, taking over from Jeff Ulrich, one of the company’s original founders. He shepherded the company through its acquisition by Scripps in late 2015. (The sum for that deal was undisclosed. So mysterious!) Previously, Sachs was the co-founder of Stepout, a dating app that was acquired by IAC in September 2013.
Sachs first announced his departure to the company in an email sent out last Tuesday. “The truth is that I've been running a startup (Stepout and then Midroll) for nearly a decade and that's exhausting!”, he wrote. “Still, at my core, I'm an entrepreneur. I still have the fire in my belly to build companies.”

According to the note, he will remain at the company for another week, after which he will spend another month on a consulting basis to aid with the transition. There is no clear successor or succession plan in place, though Diehn and Friedman are expected to take up the brunt of Sach’s managerial responsibilities. Sachs told me that a replacement might not take place any time soon, but added that he believes the company has a strong enough management team to handle the interim.
He has no idea what his next move will be, or so he tells me.
As for The Wolf Den, the company’s podcast about the podcast industry, there is also no clear successor in line. Though, from what I hear, Friedman and Chief Content Officer Chris Bannon are campaigning hard for the role.

Also interesting is that Midroll recently purchased Stitcher.

It's actually Scripps (Who owns Midroll) that bought them, but yeah, Sticher is basically meant to operate under Midroll now. They are creating that podcast empire I guess. They did say they wanted Howl to be the Netflix of podcasts. Here's the article about it if anyone missed this. http://www.wsj.com/articles/e-w-scripps-buys-podcast-company-stitcher-1465239600

Scripps is expanding like crazy. They bought Cracked, Newsy and Earwolf last year too.

I liked Adam on The Wolf Den a lot, so it's a shame to see him leave so soon. I wonder what was the actual reason for what seems like a very sudden departure with no replacement lined up, or even any potential replacements in sight.

Potential spoiler for Hello from the Magic Tavern:
The advertisement for the live July 9th show mentioned that this episode will have Chunt's Night, possibly meaning that Chunt could be free of his curse soon.

I just watched some episodes of Bajillion Dollar Properties and... Not very good :( It compares very unfavorably to something like Burning Love which I found hilarious.

Up side was seeing Drew Tarver in only underwear.

After hearing all of the things Sean and Hayes said on that secret recording by Brett, I don't know if I can listen to HH anymore. They hate the troops AND the fans? I'll probably listen the next couple of weeks and that's it. I'm excited that the Beatles are going to be on.

My favourite part was that they really love Howl. I also loved the realization that *gasp*
Sean actually owns a TV
. Hollywood Handbook is like the Wire of Podcasts, they're literally paying off a bit that was in the first episode of the show.

Also, maybe the funniest line ever in the show:

SEAN: "I hate movies and I hate showbiz. Look, I do this for one reason and one reason only."
BRETT: "... pussy?"

Started listening to Ronna and Beverley. The first one I listened to Beverley immediately sang a song about hating ISIS and it was hilarious.

Howl's got a new original that I really dig, First Comes Love. This dude puts out ads on Craigslist as a porn CEO and solicits scripts and puts on these live shows where comedians act these horrible, awful, terrible scripts. He's been doing it for a while and it sounds like they're recording some for a mini-series on Howl. It's a shame how much better the concept would work visually, but it's still fun and the host is funny.

"...and they are all being friends, body-wise and head-wise, then that's when you start to scientifically understand that, yeah, this is really bugs!"

Rhys Darby is great on today's CBB, just such a naturally funny guy. I also would have never known about "The Hunt For the Wilderpeople" if he hadn't come on. I don't keep up with Taika Waititi's going ons as much as I should, but he make terrific movies.

Catching up on HH. I damn near pissed myself from laughter with the SXSW 'live' broadcast. Brett's stumbling through his parts as the moderator and audience member made it all the better. And I particularly lost it every time Hayes would whisper 'be more diverse'. I hope they do more 'live' stuff in future episodes.
