1. Evil within looks cool
2. Wolfenstein looks cool
Bethesda get off your high horse, stop having your own conference and appear on the three console makers. You´re not worth having your own thing. Second year in a row.
5 out of 10.
Edit: Dropping it to 4/10 for the pure fact that this was a waste of my time.
Being on the same level or worse than EA isn't a good look. Should have had a deep dive into both TEW2 and Wolfenstein 2, with extended gameplay demos. Not sure why they shied away from that this year when it worked so well for Fallout 4 and to a lesser extent, Dishonored 2.
C before taking vibes into account. Can't knock it too low with TEW2 and that Wolfenstein trailer. B with vibes -- it was generally very enjoyable to watch. The Bethesdaland gimmick and their live action production quality did a fantastic job buoying what would generally be 'fuck off, get on with it' time.
The Evil Within 2 trailer wasn't very good imo or at least wasn't enough to sell the game. By itself, it was just an incoherent - albeit stylish - trailer.
I´m annoyed. Bethesda´s not big enough for their own conference. And the payed mods is a damn insult.
Also, EA can have their own thing if they want, but they better go back to being on monday sandwiched between the other conferences. Because they definitely don´t deserve their own day as well. If they´re on their own day next year again i´ll skip it.
I think it was not very good aside from the Evil Within trailer, I'm still shocked at their EA scores. I wonder if they would have significantly lowered their EA scores if it wasn't the first conference, or after Microsoft.
I don't want to type up a huge post right now so I can watch Devolver, but I way disagree with them on Bethesda. Maybe I'm just letting my own personal interest in the games bias my score, since the trailers were admittedly unclear for a lot of the games, and paid mods is a scummy thing to slip in there, but I think Bethesda has been the best conference so far for me. I know it was short, but I'd prefer short over filler any day. Some of the trailers just needed a better editor.
I'd give it like a 7.5 or 8, probably on par with Microsoft.
