My 2 cents: Keep the two channel split. Probably a large amount of the EZA audience is only interested in just the shows and the archive Twitch streams can kind of drown out the other content at the rate they are coming out.

Unless you're deep into this thread, it's very possible you don't know all Twitch archives are going up on a different youtube channel now. Maybe put a 20 second video up on the main EZA channel announcing the 2nd channel.

Also, I'd consider having links to each youtube channel/Patreon/twitter/merch/Twitch on basically every video/everything you do. Links to Twitch and youtube channels on Twitter also a solid idea.

While in the mode of giving unsolicited business advice to people who are running a very successful Patreon that I'm delighted to support, I really hope you get Bosman's "show" on the main EZA channel. I totally understand why he's weirded out by the pressures of being associated with the Patreon, but just don't have his content associated with the Patreon! Just put up a post highlighting the caveats that his content might appear or end at anytime. We get it and understand it.

It's just kind of awkward and decidedly "un-jolly" seeing his video go up on a different channel.

This is a really bizarre post to me. Views are not a zero-sum game. Somebody doing a cut that helps bring in publicity... helps EZA.

It really doesn't. I see so many people that I personally know that shows me a cool video without a shit to give about who made that content. The majority of people watch a funny and cool video and move on. And if it's on a different and un-affliated channel, they don't care enough to find the original source.

I'm basing this on my personal experience mostly, along with statistics about how often shit is stolen online for tens of millions of views on sites like Facebook.

As far as "taking advantage" of fans. That's exactly what it feels like, and I'm not 100% comfortable with using someone's work without compensation or having to tell them it's not quite good enough or feeling like I have to chase someone down for an episode every week.

There you go, guys.

Anyway. EZA. That was a good podcast.

As far as a weekly highlights show goes, that is something I'd like to put up on the main channel, but we need to get some of the other stuff underway before we do it ourselves. I don't really see it as taking advantage. You guys have 4400 people willing to give you a wide range of money every month through patreon (plus the people subbing on twitch). Most patrons aren't donating to receive the exclusive patron content, but simply because we like you guys and want to see you succeed. If you are willing to accept money directly from your fans, I don't see a problem with using content they willingly provide. Some people have more money than time and have plenty of funds to give, while others might not have money and want to contribute through other means. While chasing someone down for an episode could be a problem, I don't see accepting willingly made content in any way exploitative. You know it will be much easier to do retrospectives if fans send you gameplay footage ;)

I'm glad you moved the streams to another channel. Never been too interested in them and if I was I'd catch them live. I also think Bosman's show should be on the main channel. Hell, I forgot he had a new show.

PS. The podcast was great this week.

Agh... I just don't get it.

I know streaming is the new thing that everyone loves. I've never understood it, but I thought if I could watch anyone play games instead of play them myself it would be the EZA guys.

Just tried to watch the PSO stream, seeing as it's one of my favorite games of all time:
https://youtu.be/huB6jWb-LZk

I don't think I can do it. It stresses me out to much. I just want to be able to reach into the screen and take their controllers from them or tell them where to go/what to do.

From the beginning when they were trying to figure out how to start the mission, and then when they went down to the planet and Huber was using heavy attack as a single strike repeatedly and no one was telling him you can turn that shit into a combo. I wanted to be able to tell them that the best way to start a combo off is with 1 or 2 light attacks, and then finish off with a heavy as it makes the heavy more likely to hit.

I know if I was watching live I could participate in chat, but I've found my comments are rarely noticed. It's so hard to time your comment to when they are looking at them instead of the game.

Anyways, I'm glad other people like this whole streaming phenomenon but it's just not for me I guess.

My sentiments exactly.

Sometimes you just gotta repeat things if you're not noticed. I'm pretty hesitant about doing it myself, but it's okay to do it as long as you're not spamming. Ben's even flat out said to the stream to repeat stuff if he doesn't catch it, because it's pretty difficult to read and play. Don't give up on being a part of the stream!

One thing that might help you enjoy the stream more is watch it for the people and the talks. Not for the game.

I can practically listen to some stream as a podcasts and those are the best streams to me. Just like the group stream. So much banter is going on that it just makes it fun no matter the game.

Unless it is don gambling. Thats always Fun and intense.

Sweet mother of god I don't pay attention to the pateron amount for a few days and its gone up past 36k? It's just not stopping, holy shit.

I completely played through Resident Evil 6 when it first released, but I have absolutely no memory of this entire church/statue sequence.

Super weird.

Just finished recording our 2nd podcast. It was the most fun I've ever had on a show.

This is gonna be good, can't wait!!

Is bens podcast for patrons only? He said they did a second episode I didn't even know a first was recorded!

It's for everyone and is not time delayed for patrons either. When it goes up it should be for everyone right away. I am wondering if it will hit iTunes as well?

I'm a huge fan of the EZA guys, and even I sometimes am floored just by how entertaining I find all of them. I can literally watch Brad and Huber play a game they hate for hours and enjoy it.

I don't know how many times they tried to record the first episode of the second podcast, but the debut one is yet to be released, i'm also looking forward to how they will name it.

Is this going to be a bombcast/beastcast situation or am I reading into this incorrectly?

I don't follow Giant Bomb, so i don't know exactly what to answer, what i do know their main podcast is about gaming news and this new second podcast with Ben as a host will be about games itself, old or new, i think the first episode will be heavily focused on FF XV.

They both have different focuses from what I know. While EZAP goes through the news in an hour, EZAP2 sounds like it will be more in depth on specific subjects and not always just what's in the news.

Wonder what they'll call the second podcast.

After the naming of the first one, I'm betting on Easy Allies Podcast 2: Podcast Harder ;D

I mean, I doubt they'll all be very long, but this is Ben and Brad talking Final Fantasy. I can't see it only being an hour unless it is just Final Fantasy talk exclusively this episode.

No, it will be free for everyone.

The "first" podcast is the GT Time spiritual sucessor, Easy Allies podcast, it releases on Wednesdays only for Patrons and then Friday for everyone, it's in the 3rd episode already.

It's really weird the direction that they're going for thumbnails and titles. They really don't want to people find out their content in a easy way hahaha. From the thumbnail/title it's seems just an audio thing.

They had really cool thumbnails for the podcast but took it off for some reason =(

They did ask people to send them topics and said it didn't heavy to specifically be about gaming.

GB style would mean it is about games for the most part, with a lot of shooting the shit in between.

They should do what Funhaus do and stick a picture of Justin Bieber on their thumbnails and title their shows, I dunno, "PORN, LADY GAGA and VIDEO GAMES".

That'll get the views.

And loooooooong. Ben has talked about bombcast being an influence, in that it will be them talking about the games they have been playing recently and bits of news and more emails than the main EZA podcast does.
