Yeah went through a few songs and it's absolutely not my thing, someone mentioned it earlier and they're undoubtedly "Me Too's". That intro track is nice though

Oh yeah I just found this after hearing it the other night, this is pretty bomb. Ariana Grande remix from the legend Mr. Knuckles and Eric Kupper :D absolutely LOVE the key change, her vocals are so fitting for this, really nice and percussive to compliment a nice classic house track with some jazz influence.

Baby i (A director's cut mix)- Ariana Grande

Interesting drum and bass take on Strobe. I don't know how I feel about this, the intro isn't changed much from the original (it doesn't need to be), and the drop feels... too slow, weirdly enough. The BPM is so off from the original it doesn't really work at the higher speed because the producer made the decision of going with a halftime melody.

I don't think this Strobe EP is going to impress me. To me, Strobe is one of those tracks that shouldn't be touched.

Deadmau5 - Strobe (Dimension Remix)

Tritonal is dead to me ever since they called extended sets marketing gimmicks.

And made shitty music, but yeah.

Lol, I remember that.

Popping my head in here because I need some D&B recommendations for my cardio sessions. No words or wub-wub or overproduction, just straight up speed.

To give an idea of the style I like: this always gives me a huge boost of energy whenever I'm starting to run out of gas.

Any ideas?

New Mat Zo EP MAD is out. I have to say I am NOT a fan of Mat Zo's recent work, I expressed this in my review of his second LP but he's totally lost his old funky sound that he brought to the table with Damage Control, that album is so fucking fantastic. Self Assemble had a BIT of that but it didn't hold a candle up to Damage Control. Anyway, in MAD the production here is impressive in the sense that it's clean and a lot of detail put into it - BUT he's gotten too weird with his music, he's trying too hard to be so wacky with the sound design it distracts from the music so much. It's not even smart production though it's just sounds, like on the track "MAD" it's just a bunch of crazy panning between left and right, when I listen to it I just think "cool story bro". Troglodyte is the only one with any actual musical content and even then it's not the most interesting music he's ever written and is focused a lot more on the sound design. I used to be impressed by stuff like this but to me music that's smart and harmonically/melodically interesting is a lot more impressive than just random, nonsensical sound design choices. Mat Zo progressed into white noise with this one for me, and I feel he's become a lot less popular due to his direction too.

New Calvin Harris September 16th. No featured artist named (yet?) but it's a single. Possibly a vocal track from the man himself ala Feel So Close/Summer

PACHA GROUP IS NOW UP FOR SALE

Pacha Group is reportedly now up for sale for the lofty price of €500 million. Though the price tag is high, the conglomerate's asking price includes not only the notable Destino and Lio locations, but also multiple franchises located around the world.

Sadly, the reason behind Pacha's choice to sell seems to come down to frustration about the island's monopolization. Pacha's founder Ricardo Urgell "cannot stomach" the Matutes family, who owns Ushuaïa, Ushuaïa Tower and Hard Rock Hotel in Ibiza.

"Pacha does not believe in this new idea of a rich Ibiza as pushed forwards by Abel Matutes J," A source close to Pacha Group said. "The founder cannot go on any more, and his children do not want to bear witness to the future. For this reason they are looking for an investor."

Pacha's Ibiza branch opened in 1973 and was the first expansion of the Pacha brand from its original venue in Sitges, Spain. Pacha includes multiple venues in Spain and Brazil and also in Buenos Aires, Dubai, Tel-Aviv, Macau and more.

The fight starts this week - Fabric London

Following the revocation of our licence by Islington Council we are no longer able to bring the wealth of music and experiences to London that we have enjoyed here in EC1 for nearly two decades.
This is not yet the end for us.
We are determined to fight the council’s decision and challenge the way that the police brought this review against us. Without challenge these tactics could close every licensed premises in the country, something needs to change or our night time economy and culture will continue in this worrying spiral of decline.
To achieve this we need your help.
The fight starts this week at www.fabriclondon.com
We cannot give enough thanks for all the support that has been shown to us over the last few weeks. So thank you, to you all.

Honestly it's really hard for me to recommend something just like this because I almost wouldn't call it drum and bass. I've been thinking about it and this sounds like something intended for a video game and the creator is clearly pointing at that based on his comments, "overproduction" tends to be a hallmark of drum and bass very often.

This would probably be a good place to start though for something RELATIVELY similar, has some vocal tracks but you can weed out the ones you like >> Then & Now (Liquid Drum & Bass Mix)

This isn't really drum and bass but it reminded me of the sound you enjoy from that track >> Hudson Mohawke - Thank You

Really strange comments coming from one of the most expensive nightclubs on the Island.

Pacha doesn't do, or offer anything different to the other big nightclubs. It's still notoriously expensive for tickets and drinks and they pack so many people in its hard to enjoy it. I absolute hated it when I went.

I just get the feeling they're pissed off that they've missed the boat on getting a hotel complex big enough that they can put a stage in and host open air events at.

Yes Ushuaïa is crazy expensive to stay at (I can see why people who have the money choose to stay there though) but the tickets and drinks are just the same as Pacha. I have no doubt Pacha would charge the same for hotel rooms if they had the idea first.

Good ol' Infected Mushroom :D they somehow always seem to keep a familiar sound but do something distinctly different in each track. Anyway that whole soundcloud page has great psytrance if you're in the mood for that

Infected Mushroom - Nutmeg (sample)

ALSO I've posted this song before but...

ZEDD & GREY - ADRENALINE

HI GUYS!!! :)
Unfortunately I'm sign to a label that has a complicated contract with Soundcloud which makes it impossible for me to actually name this song "Zedd & Grey" - Adrenaline .... In the end of the day all those label / distributer / platform fights only hurt the artists.... Real bummer - HOWEVER I wanna make sure to give GREY a shout-out... This is a collaboration and not just my own song.... sooooo listen to it, enjoy it and give Grey a follow while you're at it! :)

I wanted to make a point about this because holy fuck why is there always bullshit with Soundcloud lol. No other music platform had a problem with it being explicitly a collaboration between both artists. I really appreciate that Anton wrote this, he's a good guy.

People of Tomorrow, Tomorrowland is delighted to announce it received the permission from the city of Boom and Rumst to start all preparations to organize 2 festival weekends in the summer of 2017 (July 21-22-23 and July 28-29-30).

Full announcement will follow before the end of the year.

Not sure that's a good thing. Kinda spoils the 'magic'

Zouk nightclub hired a fake Marshmello and the real one is pissed

Lol probably played a better set

Not sure that's a good thing. Kinda spoils the 'magic'
That's not the first time they've done that, I went the year they did two weekends in 2014. It absolutely is a good thing, dramatically decreases third party value that scalpers set. Tomorrowland just gets bought out by people who sell the tickets for 700 euros online, that's not fair to anyone and isn't really good for the industry.

UGHHH COULD THIS DAY GET ANY BETTER

Justice - Randy (Official Audio)

I gotta say I am DIGGING this new style. I've always thought their songwriting is great but this is a great midpoint between Cross and Audio, Video, Disco. I liked both albums but I always thought Cross was TOO glitchy and "in your face" while audio, video, disco took a total 180, which was a bit too extreme considering where they came from. From what I've heard so far they've found a very nice blend of their different sides for this new album, and I am really excited about it.

You bet I'm gonna have a lot to say about the final album release.

That Justice track was good. Definitely will try to listen to more tracks when I have the time.

That new Calvin Harris track is, well, more Calvin Harris. No complaints from me.

I haven't been listening to anything new lately. Lost my groove these past two months. Been mostly lurking here.

HMM I'm a Calvin fan but I am not impressed, this feels really predictable, it starts off feeling like Feel So Close but quickly turns into kinda a boring slow tropical house song. The hook doesn't really do much for me melodically or sonically and I feel like most people wouldn't give it a second listen if Calvin's name was not on it.

But my biggest criticism of the song?

You are the one thing in my way you are the one thing in my way you are the one thing in my way you are the one thing in my way you are the one thing in my way you are the one thing in my way you are the one thing in my way

Additionally, I apologize about the Daft Punk remix shared earlier. Turns out the remix was fake as confirmed by Boys Noize himself. It was still pretty cool but I thought something sounded wrong about it, that's too bad.

Chainsmokers I guess will have a new radio hot soon. They are recording with the lead singer of Coldplay

As a fan of their past and some modern music, I truly hope they don't burn themselves out. In this era of consumerism, it's always this this and this or I need this right now. It seems to me that Alex and Drew need to slow it down. Take their time to make a track that will be unique and thoughtful while still remaining Pop-EDM. But I don't know if people will like it. I bet if they did do something like that, many, many people will go:

Where'd The Chainsmokers go? I knew they were only a one-hit wonder! They fell off the music world. Etc.

That's what I hope doesn't happen to them but it seems like that's where they are heading right now. Is it possible in this new era of Music though? If you are a legend already, sure people will give you a pass but if you are still relatively new then people will not give them the benefit of the doubt.

Cool video I saw of BBC taking a tour around Shangri La Studios in Malibu, California, where a large chunk of Gaga's upcoming album was recorded along with many MANY other famous musicians over the years, since the 70's I believe. The studio is owned by Def Jam Co-Founder and legendary producer Rick Rubin

Honestly I don't see them keeping it up. They've become too popular in such a short time and at the end of the day it's because their music is trendy. Don't shoot the messenger, their manager said so himself that they hopped onto a different trend when one thing was already popular and to me that doesn't make you a lasting musician. I mean shit, look at Afrojack, do you ever hear about him now a day? Just saying I doubt many people will be listening to Closer in ten years time frankly.

That's the problem with doing that, if you hop on a trend and get known for that thing you can't shock people with your music because there's an expectation. For example I criticized Kygo's album for sounding very samey throughout but it's because he didn't have any room to do anything different. Obviously you have to maintain some sort of similarity throughout your music, if you make an album you'd probably have a hard time having one song that's EDM and another that's goth metal, but following a trend or doing one thing has short term benefits without longevity imo.

I've never been there before, how's the venue?

I am gonna head over to Centurylink field box office to get tickets tomorrow. Fuck those fees from ticketmaster
I'm a fan. It's under the stands of CenturyLink Field. Usually good sound quality, lines are usually not awful, convenient to get Ubers/Lyfts in and out, lots of space.

Yea in all honesty I don't see them keeping it up.But people eat it up though, Aomber. People do love eating it up. Props to them if they do maintain their popularity in a few years from now.

Early morning digging around r/monstercat, r/hardstyle and I found this!

Stonebank - The Only One ft. Ben Clark It's cool that Stonebank delved a little deeper into the Hardstyle scene. He's been on the DnB and UK Hardcore/Happy Hardcore scene for a while now. This is a decent Hardstyle track. Been some time that Monstercat included something else besides Future Bass and Dubstep.

Really liking the new Dillon Francis song - excellent choice of vocals on what's a nice punchy, fun track. Dillon's definitely getting more consistent with his quality control, Candy was a miss for me but many of his other recent tracks have been nice.

Lyrics are corny, but still, thumbs up.

Dillon Francis - Anywhere (feat. Will Heard)

I'm seeing a band called Miike Snow next Tuesday, just bought tickets for them :D some might remember I remixed them earlier this year. But anyway, you all probably know them best by one member, Christian Karlsson, who's one half of Galantis, and Andrew Wyatt who's been featured on a number of tracks most notably by guys like Flume and A-trak. Miike Snow isn't really EDM per se but thought it's worth posting about them anyway since they definitely have their feet in this scene as well.

Been rocking this track in particular lately. Amazing chords, Andrew Wyatt's voice is so unique I love it.

Miike Snow - My Trigger (Official Audio)

Caught a nice upload from Nik Cooper that led me to the original version, Kobe Bourne & JK West ft. Gloricely - Hold Me Close. Damn, she has a nice voice. She really made the track that much better.

Here is the Nik Cooper version, CUZZINS Remix = Bounce Remix.

I don't listen to Jay Hardway at all but Somnia is pretty decent. Popped up on my Youtube feed and decided to check it out.

We don't have enough Official Aftermovie's in here so here is the Official Q-Dance @ Mysteryland 2016 Official Aftermovie ^_^ Tracks included are Noisecontrollers & Bass Modulator's Holding On and Hard Driver's Welcome.

Feeling happier now. Said it in the Asian OT but I've been depressed lately and I'm feeling happier lately. Fixed my sleep schedule also.

That Dillon track is fun. Quite a enjoyable song ^_^

EDIT: Turns out according to some HTML that fans have been checking out on the Gorillaz website there's going to be a whole section called "Gorillaz Live" implying a live tour.

Also I love the music video for Perfect Illusion. Despite still thinking improvements could be made to the actual song it's grown on me. Really like how you see all the guys involved in the song throughout the video

Lady Gaga - Perfect Illusion (Official Music Video)

Any opinions on David August? Don't even know if he can strictly be called EDM, but I love his stuff, especially live.

Boilerroom Set
Great music to work to.

Relatively simple track that I love.

First time hearing of this guy but I like what I'm hearing.
