Entering the third day of EZoo and I can't fucking stand the main stages at all. It's like every single drop is some variation of that Garrix Animals stabbing sound or a dubstep drop circa 2011. Plus they don't bother mixing anymore, they just play the 30 seconds before the drop, then the drop, then the music goes quiet for a few seconds before they bring in the next song. It's literally just drop after drop after drop. It makes my ears bleed.

Thankfully the smaller stages have more than made up for it. Saw Paul van Dyk and Sasha tearing it up yesterday. Gonna try to get there early enough today to see The Magician, whose mixes I am in love with.

Yeah, unfortunately that's how most mainstage sets are. There's definitely great ones but usually it's pretty easy to figure out which ones are gonna play a full on bigroom house set and who's not. I'm all for having a set that goes hard but it's the guys who play different tracks and sets that nobody else plays (or don't play tracks that sound exactly like every other bigroom house track) that are the good ones.

Lol yeah right after The Magician's set we were heading over to Myon and Shane and the music just stopped all throughout the festival and we were asked to leave. We jumped into one of the tents thinking that the show would continue after the rain passed but they announced that the rest of the day was canceled so we just left.

Sucks, but thankfully I did finally get to see The Magician and he played the best set of EZoo by far. No regrets.

Not going to any more EZoos though lol.

I pre-ordered this album a few months ago and it arrived about a fortnight ago. This has to be one of the best ever prog house debut albums, just amazing from start to finish. A really nice journey over the course of 75 minutes, with some nice nods to other artists and genres along the way.

Best part is it's really well priced and direct from the label. €8 for the MP3s and €10 for the physical disc (with great packaging and presentation).

I wouldn't be too worried about getting tickets to Ultra. They didn't sell out until after the festival had actually begun.

But if you're looking to get them cheap, just keep following the site. No information so far.

Eh Ultra was so hit and miss for me. EDC Vegas is much better imo. Ultra was the shit shows of shit shows.

Yea EDC was awesome for me minus the shuttle situation on day 1 (I didn't get back to the strip until NOON), but hopefully they fix that up next year. Day 2 and 3 was fine they had plenty of shuttles, and lines moved at a decent speed.

Dude... so many fucking feels. I almost cried in about 4 scenes. The whole thing is just beautiful and amazing. I highly recommended if you've been thinking about getting it.

I saw him do a three hour set at Tomorrowland but it was at mid day. Such a stupid time to put him on, I know they couldn't give him a three hour set at night on the main stage but Prydz needs to be seen when it's dark, he needs to hit you with those laser beams.

Progressive House - Eric Prydz, Alesso (kinda leans into big room at times though), Steve Angello, Armin van Buuren at times, Above & Beyond (Anjunabeats in general really), Audien, Kaskade?

Genres are so hazy that YMMV.

I personally think genre labels are almost useless now, or they're at least used completely differently than they used to be. Was just trying to give a starting point for newer stuff.

I mean, look at the Beatport Progressive House chart (not that Beatport charts are at all useful anyway):

Edit: Changing gears - EDC vets, when should I start looking out for tickets and start planning flights/hotels/etc.? Thinking about going next year.
