Wow, I generally hate new school A&B Trouse, but this album is kinda decent
Lots of catchy tracks

ok, I retract that statement, after listening to this this A&B album for a week, it sucks. Way too much trouse and cheese :\

Couple decent songs, but not my style at all. Would love to hear an old school trance A&B album.

Yup I just listened to it, not a fan at all.

I'm not a big fan of songs that aren't well articulated, I dunno, they tried to go for too many big supersaws and shit like that and it just doesn't SOUND very good engineering wise. That basically sums up Trouse, it's like, man either go full house or don't because that just doesn't sound good. I mean when you compare the first song "We're all we need" to that Eric Prydz/CHVRCHES song, the A&B song just sounds like too much is going on and the sounds aren't separated very well. I use that Eric song as an example because there's a lot going on in that song too, which is a challenge to make everything "work" and "fit", but he's talented at that. This might be me being picky since I'm a producer, but yeah that was the first thing that stood out to me (not that I can do better :p I don't have as many years of experience)

I wouldn't be surprised if they partook in the "loudness war" from the way I'm hearing it too, would be curious to see how compressed some of the songs are on the A&B album.

This is a subjective thing too obviously but yeah that was my takeaway.

They said they want to do another Oceanlab album in one of their album promo Q&As.

The other day I re-listened Tri-State. Still one of the best EDM albums ever.

Anyone here ever try importing a CD from Russia? Trying to get this song in flac and I can't find a digital purchase option. Found a purchase option but the seller lives in Russia and I don't know how Russia - US mailing goes. (Would rather avoid being put on another government watch list) So yeah, what do you guys do when you can't find a song?

So I saw a list of Grammy nominations this morning and under Best Dance/Electronic Album, I see "Mat Zo - Damage Control".

In the middle of saying holy shit he got nominated, I hastily type in "Mat Zo grammy nomination" into Google.

Fourth search result:
Holy Shit, Mat Zo's been nominated for a grammy for "Damage Control"!
forum.anjunabeats.com › Anjunabeats Forums › Open Chat

So very happy right now.

Yeah I'll be skipping that.

If you're wanting to go to a festival in the UK keep an eye out for Northern Lights (located in Newcastle) line up announcement on Thursday.

Oh and it looks like Tether' release date is 17th February.

EDC UK lineup is....... rubbish

probably won't be going

----

oh crumbs forgot about best of 2014

anyone else got a list? Stuff to vote on is a few pages back

That's actually a decent line-up for the trancey-sort of people.

I might do one eventually. Is there an easy reference to see everything that came out in 2014?

Wow at Tether. Good shit

Beyond lineup is pretty meh for me. No trance I need to see. At least UK edc has PureNRG. Would love to see them live

SAMF undercard is fucking rad, but nothing that you wouldn't expect from an EDM festival in 2015. Not going this year, but not too broken up about it. Definitely not a fan of the crowds it's been pulling.

Festivals these days are all the same. I'm not sure what it would take to make me interested again. I don't feel like it's worth my money or my energy to go out and see the same artists again with the shitty crowds. God I hate festival crowds...

GRAMMYS for electronic

Best Remix Winner: John Legend - All of Me (Tiesto's Birthday Remix)
Best Record Winner: Clean Bandit - Rather Be ft. Jess Glynne
Best Album Winner: Aphex Twin - Syro

LOL at the remix winner

Syro is fine, it's the perfect circle jerk album to "give EDM cred" to the Grammys(albeit a solid album)

But Clean Bandit and Tiesto

Knew Superman had no chance with Aphex Twin nominated, but just getting the nomination itself is pretty damn cool.

God that Tiesto remix is so basic. Was Porter not nominated for best album? That makes me sad...

Just bought tickets to tomorrowland via Viagogo for € 270 inc Fee.

Was waiting 2 hours in the queue last saturday on the official tomorrowland portal to get to see the "sold out notice".

Excited!

Festival season is starting next month :)

Grammy nominations are weird, he could still be in the running for 2016. Mat Zo's album was released in 2013 for example.

Wow that's a great price, good job

Gonna try to get tickets for the Seattle show when they go on sale on Friday. His last show here (also at Foundation) sold out almost immediately, so I'm gonna have to be ready.
