ELDEN RING delayed to February 25th, 2022

Video games are genuinely in a bad place. It's crazy that covid has caused such an increase in hardware sales but software has slipped so much.
The output does not warrant the increase in hardware sales imo.

Horizon just has bad luck.

First game has the GOTG (BOTW) come out a week later.
Second game apparently is meeting the same fate lol

Horizon will be fine.

Elden Ring and Souls games in general appeal to a niche.

Horizon has MUCH broader appeal and will find a larger audience. No question.

Console only Test... god damn it

Also, with literally all games delaying, I petition that the next game to release day and date on the first announced date will get a Award, not to shame everyone else, but because I think that would be a fun award.

Why not just say 6 month delay to confirm all bells and whistles and then deliver early if ready to go versus asking for 30 days when that might be enough. I'd rather wait for the good finished product than patching/bullshit upon playing

This seems to be pretty normal for games that were due to release in September, October and November. There's such a rush to get games out by November which seems to be when the big money is made and every year we seem to end up a with a mass of potentially good games in February and March the following year.
I don;t really mind delays as I do tend to only buy games now when I'm ready to play them in comparison to years ago when I would buy games at launch even though I was part way through a game already. These days my purchases are pretty evenly spread out out over the whole of the year.

It's not a bad delay but personally I am going to be knee deep in KOF15 which comes and Destiny 2: Witch Queen with this new date. The old date was perfect but now I might have to wait before I pick it up :-(

I actually didn't think it would be delayed because they took a good long time before actually announcing the release date.

It's annoying. Elden Ring, Horizon FW and GT7 will all launch within a month of each other. Well, I think Horizon FW will be the one I'll get later because my hype for Elden Ring is higher, and GT7 has been overdue for like 1,5 console gen.

These games may be "repositioned"
Like when the last of us 2 and GoT were

Its a possible strategy from Sonys side, but I hope they won't be. GT7 and Horizon FW doesn't really compete with each other in the way GoT and TLOU2 did, and they probably still wanna get the games out for the pretty big PS4 crowd.

Yeah, no doubt about it. But it was successful last time and GoT was a new IP and needed some room to breathe. But these 3 are monster releases that have legs and Sony can only control 2.
If people are going to wait getting these until they get a PS5 a small delay wasnt going to sway them anyway. Miles morales is proof of that and that was a launch title.

Sad news, I'm hyped to play it during the cold winter days, but nevermind at least its only 1 month, though i have to wonder when the delays start maybe they dont stop there, who knows they may delay it even further and pull another Cyberpunk. This delay puts a red flag around the game for me.
Something else will get delayed from February to March-May. That list is far too stacked.
Not really, most of these games are not really hyped, only Horizon, Dying Light and Elden Ring.
And personally i think Elden Ring is far more hyped, followed by Horizon and then Dying Light 2 (which im sure will get delayed again lol)

Yes, Elden Ring vs Horizon 2! Let them big boys stand and bang!

Will get both either way, LOL

Any word of a special/ collector's edition yet?
