Elden Ring Nightreign has sold 3.5 million units in 4 days

Thats how u can tell game is a success, ofc it was mostly assets swap/flip with tiny budget but those solid 3,5m copies sold achievement w/o any subscription service in 4 fricken days is solid af.
Maybe even thats why its even bigger success- short dev time/relatively tiny budget but still pretty amazing actual sales numbers.

haven't try it, I'm afraid I will be addicted, since I have lot of works right now : /
but glad the game is sold well, watching current state of AAA right now, glad to see good news like this
 
Picked up my seeker edition pre-order today. Wasn't sure about it hence the long delay in picking it up but keen as to play more. Only played a little bit this afternoon but it feels so crisp to play. Easily get my money's worth out of it I reckon.

How fun is it with randoms? And how punishing is it?

I've only been playing with randoms so far (about 11 expeditions though) and it's been really fun. In my experience, people have been quite good at responding to each others map markers and sticking together. So quite viable and fun with randos IMO. Most of my teammates have either had a pretty good idea of what to do, or been good at following along with someone who does.

But I imagine it'll be even more fun with proper communication, especially for more critical decisions, like whether or not to cut your losses at a field boss etc.

while im happy that this game is selling well ,i just hope they dont take it as a sign that we want more gaas or live service games from them .

Use your brain. This isn't day one on GamePass and we have no clue how many people actually bought it and how many downloaded it without buying.

Game sharing is incidental.
 
Imagine all these studios dropping billions on GAAS that flops even before being released and From Software just put out a small little project made with zero budget that becomes multi million seller in 4 days.
 
I dont like these news because I dont want multiplayer games to succeed. I want single players to be successful.

I dont know, maybe it's selfish of me to think this way but I just dont enjoy multiplayer games
 
Shipped aren't sales too
They say 3.5+, since most sales are digital, I would say 3.5m sales is not a bad estimate.

You can play it solo and offline, technically it can be a SP game.

aah fair enough but i just want more traditional single player souls games from these guys . they are the best at making those .
Eh, you want to keep this team together, you let their creative guys be creative. If a designer/director came up with this idea and they kept getting shut down, they'd go somewhere else to make it happen.
 
If they balance this for SP i may give a try, until then i m out

You have to know exactly what you are doing to solo this game. I mean where every boss and item will be or might be. like even with the help feature they added already you still need to know these things. its not an adventure game.

Nice to see some kind of roadmap. Didn't expect duos and dlc.

I'll hop back from time to time for sure.

Took me 27 hours to beat all bosses on iron eye and now I'm dabbling with the other classes. Wylder is a blast!

Wish they would prioritize fixing the remembrance quest queues. Some of them never match make.
 
Game looks great. Too bad I hate multiplayer, even if not a live service game.

In fact, the game, in principle, is not a souls game. It lacks the story, the pacing, the exploration, the puzzles and the deliberate plot of elden ring or dark souls. Its just the game mechanics played out on a multiplayer map. That's all.

This is a fun game. Can be infuriating at times if you get idiot teammates, which seems to happen less and less after you beat the first Night Lord, or if you have bad luck with the map.

I think the downed state needs some reworking: with three bars it takes WAY too long to revive someone, especially when a boss is attacking and you have to manage the stamina. I know they don't want to make it too easy, but it's kinda ridiculous at times. More often than not if two people are downed with two or more bars it is a wipe.
 
Alright, good on them. I have yet to pick it up. Maybe if they improved what it is offering. I'm OG from fan but not a lobby game guy. 2 player mode is a good start. One of the rare gaas I would ever consider.

I just cant see miyazaki wanting to do it. The problems in Shadow of the Erdtree and the lack of care in letting Neightreign be made and DS3s philosophy tell me this.

Yeah i'd put money on him being done with ER. He's moved onto his next project while Bandai Namco fleece the name for what they can get out of it while he cooks.

Hit and miss. Last night i had an incredible flawless run, nobody died once and we beat 3rd boss in one try. It has those highs that are unmatched. The lows are pretty low. Amazing game.
