I cant stop playing this. I think im addicted :/

I went to Ho Hsi and did my part, doing a few errands for Jet Corp. Then jsut flew around investigatign USSes for a bit. Made over 160K today :D Ma, one piece of advice ill give anyone buying a hauler tho, dont ever bother getting into a fight. Just run the fuck away. Unless youre really lucky and just watch other people fighting, then get in a few shots at the end and pick up a nice 16K bounty for doing absolutely nothing, lik i did earleir lol. Bt real talk this thing is a space bus. Trying to fight anyone is hilariously shit in it

Yeah, had to force myself to stop playing today. It's easy to forget about missions, which is kinda unfortunate since they're time limited, haha.

I'm about to get the game, it is so hard to resist. I just wish I had a OR before playing this. Don't know if I should just wait for OR to release before getting this. It would be such a long wait.

Don't forget to set the GUI to green and (if your GPU is good enough) downsample.

Oh man, those different colour UIs look beautiful. I think my 970 should be able to, I'll give it a shot.

You've been making a grave mistake, my friend, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Just make sure you try to place your real life joystick as close to the in game joystick as you can. And then watch in amusement as moving your hand moves the joystick in the game.
Watch in awe as your ship rotates and slides around on the landing pad.
Sit in amazement as that star or planet just keeps getting bigger, even though it looks like it couldn't possibly get any bigger.
Never lose sight of a ship again in combat as you reel your head around behind you to keep your eyes on the guy.

Playing on a monitor after all that just feels incredibly claustrophobic.

Well, now I really wanna try this as soon as possible. Not sure if I can be bothered setting it up tonight, but you're tempting me.

I'm being told to meet a contact at a space station. No idea how that's accomplished. I've browsed through the entire Contacts list at the space station and can't find the dude I need to talk to.

It is, I was getting 200+ frames on my 970 at max settings@1080p I set the DSR to 4x and running at 4k at 60fps. But I'm overclocked at 1500mhz as well. It is dropping down as low as 40ish range during large fights though, so I think I may just DSR at 2x

Does anybody have any experience with the Logitech G940? Used to be Logitech's high end HOTAS solution a few years ago, basically their Warthog/ Cougar equivalent as far as I can tell. Supposedly very durable, and it comes with rudder pedals, dual throttle like the X-55, tons of buttons and hats, and one of the hats is actually a secondary analog stick, which should be pretty awesome for thruster controls.

i think i like this color the best

It's a bug, just abandon the mission,go back to the station you got it from and you get the money.

Got it. Thanks.

Now I'm on a mission in which some pirates are trying to convince me to attack Authority spacecraft. These fuckers are trying to make me an outcast. I just want some hauling missions for fuck's sake!

I was originally sent out to destroy some Pirates, and then received a message to meet someone at a space station. Not sure how this doesn't exist.

Oh my bad. I thought you were referring to the permit missions that say to go to X system and talk to the naval contact. There's no naval contact.

I mentioned the frame rate issues I have in supercruise earlier, and it's clear now that it's me alt-tabbing out of the game causing it (in borderless).

So this is a bit annoying since LHS 3447's stuff is miles away.

That is very sound advice. I got interdicted on my way from 3447 to Ho Hsi, got fucked up pretty badly, managed to escape with maybe 30% hull integrity, jumped to a system and exited hyperspace so close to the star that my stupid flight computer immediately disengaged supercruise, leaving me right next to a huge ass ball of plasma frying my ship while I was waiting for my FSD to cool down and start up again. I arrived at Alexeyev with exactly 1% hull. Just to find out that Alexeyev has no repair facilities. That was fun.

Damn dude, sounds like you had a shit day! Ive been lucky so far, haven't lost a ship yet. Ive managed to escape all interdictions (and the only successful interdictions mustve lagged out or something, cause no one was there).

Oh also is there any point in collecting toxic waste? I found 7 containers floating in space, grabbed them, then it started eating through my shields lol

I found a guy being attacked by the cops in a USS, he FSD'd the hell out of there and left a floating bounty of slaves and tobacco. Jackpot :D

Note to self: Once you've got a few bounties under your belt from random Wanted, cash them in instead of going after an Elite ranked Wanted mission and lose everything.

I've not lost a ship yet either. Ultimately managed to make it to Hand Ring, dock and repair my ship. It was intense, and I probably cursed like a sailor, but I had a lot of fun.

There really needs to be like a smuggler's cargo rack in game. Something like half the cargo space (so if you could have say a 16t cargo rack you get a 8t smuggler's rack), but it makes it so if you get scanned it's takes 50% longer and has a 50% chance of coming up clean or something.

Put my Viper into storage, got myself an Adder with mining equipment. Ho Hsi has great rings to mine at but sadly the game automatically spawns police vessels no matter where you drop out so I can never actually mine in peace.

Gotta find a different system tomorrow I guess.

How viable is an Eagle as a bounty hunting ship? Wondering if I should deck it out with better upgrades or just get a Viper. I like the mobility of the Eagle, but I guess the Viper is better in pretty much every other aspect?

The Eagle is a fantastic bounty hunting ship to start out with, a great ship if you can utilize it's crazy maneuverability.

The Viper is not nearly as agile as the Eagle but is faster, stronger and deadlier.
I mean, it also costs more than 3 times as much as an Eagle!

Do note that the upkeep on a Viper is MUCH higher than on an Eagle, the Viper eats fuel for breakfast and repairs on it are more expensive. Rebuy cost is of course higher too.

So do upgrade to one,but only if you have the cash to back it up.

Finally got to Ho Hsi too. My Cobra is serving me well to the point where it's super rare to fear anything from an NPC ship. Now I'll need to find some trading routes around here.

So after all this talk of the OR...

Should we be waiting for the Consumer release supposedly next summer, or go ahead and pick up the Dev Kit 2?

Will there be any significant upgrades by then?

Took on my first Elite, he was in an Eagle so hard to track. After a 15 minute knife edge battle I finally kill him, check my awesome warrant reward... 120 CR. Cost me like 3K in repairs.

Definitely not worth the risk. :)

I upgraded to a Viper but I miss my Eagle, it takes longer to kill the bountys but you're in way more control and dictate the fight. Feels 'easier' with its turning speed to get in behind ships.

I think it balances out pretty well, Eagle is a great ship.

I am now wondering about saving up to get a Python (my god it is expensive) just because I want to do a bit of exploring on top of bounty hunting.

I mean, it makes sense that it's random. I was having some crazy luck at Balatu (before I got destroyed :-|) and another gaffer and I went out and didn't find much, though there were a few 15k bounties.

I am not using a warrant scanner so probably limiting my finds but I was getting so much money before, I had another session and mostly duffs until the end when I got a bunch of 10-15K rewards.

Yeah, I've been using it with some basic upgrades and it does well against anything that isn't too high ranked. I just like the idea of zooming around in an Eagle taking out top tier bounties, but I guess that might be difficult even with the best upgrades. Maybe I'll just keep it as a side project.

I might just wait until the updates come that allow planet landings and getting out of your ship. That sounds much more like fun. Otherwise, just from what I know about the game, it sounds a tad boring... Is it just me?

Every time I find a nice, fat Wanted Anaconda, some idiot security vessel slips right in front of me.

So if I am Wanted in a system, I can just go to another system and pay off the bounty?

NM. System Map lets me know which systems are safe.

To someone who like hand holding and are afraid of depth in the sandbox, yes then it probably is a bit boring :)

Seriously though, no game is for everyone, but I for one haven't had this much fun in a loooong time. I miss a couple of things, but those aside it's fantastic. And it really has some depth, I wasn't joking about that, neither the hand holding, you have to invest a little to understand what's going on.

I just screwed up two times on my pirate hunting today.. I forgot to turn off "report crimes", so after I took care of a pirate and scooping in the cargo he ejected to make me not kill him, I got a 30k fine from some federation security vessels that showed up to help me.. At least I got some credits from selling the cargo.. Second time I did the same, got some valuable bounty and some cargo to sell on the black market. But then on my way in, to avoid a scan I engaged my afterburners one time too many and crashed into the station ( I might have turned off flight assist..).

Could really use a hand at Ho Hsi nav right now. Tons of heavy cargo ships for Ho Hsi corp flying in with escorts and they are armed to the teeth! I took 2 vipers down before getting my ass handed to me by an Adder or Cobra. Had to pull out! :(

Well possibly yes, in this thread. You create your own fun. Though I admit I cannot wait to walk in stations and on planets!

Space Truckin' really pays exponentially once you get the Type 6. Managed to make about 1.4million Cr last night just hauling. Now that my ship is upgraded I'll really be able to start pulling in the credits. My Trackir ProClip should arrive tomorrow so I look forward to that.

Owl, whats your CMDR name? Mine is Anton Sugar.

Think I'm in a different instance, bummer. May head to Balatu w/Wreav.

EDIT: Wreav and I are actually headed to Ho Hsi nav now.

If anyone needs slaves for missions at Ho Hsi, it looks like the closest system is LP 811-17 - Doyle Dock is Anarchy type and exports them. 25 LY (4 hops). The station's close to the arrival point at least.

Filter the government type to Anarchy to see the alternatives.

CMDR Horsebite.

I went back to Nav after a repair and still a decent amount of Ho Hsi transports here. Might be a different instance! :( That sucks, but oh well! I'll do my best. :D

How can I have my D.Scanner separate from my primary fire? Is that associated with the Fire Group(or whatever it's called)?

Yes. In the right UI panel, switch to Fire Groups. You probably have a single fire group already set up, with the scanner disabled; click over to the + icon to create a new fire group and assign just the scanner to it. Voila!

We just left to Mantxe black market, things got hairy for us at the Ho Hsi nav, haha. Might be back.

Gonna have to hop off, that was pretty interesting, lol.

So...should we be attacking clean Ho Hsi ships, cause the cops were on top of us IMMEDIATELY.

Also, I racked up 17k in bounties, but I can't turn them in at any Hsi Ho station...what's up with that?

Switched to the freagle, and I gotta say, it has one snazzy interior. Lovin it so far, taking a break before I start hunting some bounty in it.

Aside from that, it looks like there are just systems that Ill need to stay away from. There's a bunch that Supercruise very quickly becomes a slideshow. And its not even a matter of inconsistent frame rate -- irlt pretty solidly drops all the way down to 15, from what is otherwise a very high frame rate.

I think we done fucked up. Any bounties earned in Ho Hsi have to be turned in at the Ho Hsi system station or any other Independent station, I think. If we earn Federation bounties at a Federal system, we can turn them in at any Federal station (like Steiner or Alex).

Is that right?

Anyone know details about mining? I've got a Hauler set up to mine, but I went to a Metal Rich ring with Pristine Reserves and the only metal I saw was Silver - and that was in about 1 of 30 rocks. I ended up with only a couple of loads of Silver and the remainder was assorted minerals. I was under the impression that Metal rings with Pristine reserves would have a lot more metal.

Also, is the type of metal in the ring fixed if I leave the area and return or is it fixed?
