British men in Thailand are pedos obviously. :/Because the MEDIA
Why DO people want to give Elon such a hard time?
I don't get it.
He is 47 he could have just not called the dude a pedo? Is this real life? Why DO people want to give Elon such a hard time?
I don't get it.
the experienced cave diver rightly called out his pointless "submarine" as a PR stunt.
Yeah, he needs a timetostopposting.gifThe diver was obviously pissed off with Musks antics and was a bit rude but it's pathetic that Musk retaliated with a pedo accusation. Playground stuff.
Musk is 47 though so I don't even
Maybe in twitter the default no u reply is pedo
Apparently the diver is considering legal action:

Don't get me wrong, I agree he's clearly out of line, but do we actually know it was pointless? Musk has provided evidence of the email exchange and it reads very much as him saying 'we're simply doing everything we can to try and help'. And it looks like he was encouraged to continue.
The diver seems unnecessarily churlish about it in hindsight.
Maybe I was a little excessive by saying it's pointless, but it was a clear PR stunt.
One of the low points of being rich and famous, is that even if you want to do something from 100% genuine empathy, some people will always assume it is a PR stunt.
And if one sits around and does nothing due to this backlash, they are greedy/selfish assholes who do nothing to help anyone.
Sometimes you can't win I guess. Just because someone with an innovative mind makeup wants to help, and it may come off as that way due to how their mind has shaped their success, does not mean it was a PR stunt and did not come from a place of genuine empathy.
Is there any evidence other than how well known he is, and the fact the media now fears him with his watchdog site, that this was a PR stunt?
Bullshit. There were hundreds of rich people who did nothing, made no comment, and were not accused of being "greedy selfish assholes who do nothing to help anyone."
Musk has a history of stupid PR stunts. Sending a fucking car into space as one example. If he had done nothing, kept himself to himself and focussed on making cars or rockets, no one would have bat an eye.
He is 47 he could have just not called the dude a pedo? Is this real life?
Oh yeah, that was not cool.
But I've just noticed liberals really hating on him a lot lately for seemingly no reason, I guess just because he's a rich white man.
That's a disgusting thing to accuse someone of. I've never liked Musk, always came off as a charlatan to me, fuck him. I honestly think this guy is a narcissist and everything he does is for attention. I've read an interview where he accuses his father of being evil and says he did everything you can imagine, basically implying that he was abused as a child. Why would you say something like that in an interview? Talk to your pschiatrist. In another interview he looked emotional and nearly cried (or did cry? I don't remember) when the journalist told him energy prices in Australia are so expensive families have to decided whether to pay for energy or buy food or something like that. It looked to me like he was putting on a show. I remember reading he didn't grief much when his son died, now he's crying in interviews? Same thing when he said he's actually a socialist of sorts - I think he just wanted to ingratiate himself with the twitter mob, the people that despise the rich lol. Now with the republican donation they're really coming for him. Enjoy your new friends Elon.
And all his projects are bullshit. Electric cars are nothing new, unless he developed a new battery there's nothing special about his cars. If there's demand for them other companies with make them and crush Tesla. There's also the problem of charging - the grid can't handle the added load so you either need to charge at night at your home or pay very high prices. Cities are not going to expand their grid just for electric cars, how do you predict how much capacity do you need? This is just not going to work.
And the space bullshit is ever worse. There's just no fucking point. Space is too dangerous to live in and resources available there are too expensive to bring back to earth. And you need revolutionary technology like fusion propulsion and who knows what else. When he says he wants to build a city on Mars people should laugh instead of worshipping this guy.
I can agree with some of this, especially about the space shit, it's a distraction, however didn't Tesla develop their own batteries which are extremely more efficient than most other commercial batteries?
Aren't they called the Tesla batteries? Or are they not in the public arena yet?
Tesla's batteries are normal lithium-ion batteries. I think they're licensed from Panasonic too.
Now if they developed something new like solid lithium batteries or lithium-air ones or zinc-air or whatever, then I'll respect them. It's not easy of course, lots of companies and research centers are doing battery R&D, but the reason they're doing that is that lithium-ion is just not good enough. There's also the problem with supply of lithium. I really think none of this will work out and the future will still be Hydrogen and some synthetic/bio-fuel thrown into the mix.
