The CEO of Babylon Bee had this to say

I know Elon is a fan of their work, so this might have had something to do with it

I just love that it was these toxic woke morons banning a satire site that finally saw their little empire come crashing down. It's just too delicious for words. Go Elon Musk.

“Aww, it’s so...average,” she said to him in a cold brick of passion
Edit: Not a funny post. I'll pass after rereading lol

It died when pornography wasn't allowed anymore. I only use Twitter for that too.
I used to tumble a time or two back in my day
Tumblr pornography was quite artistic.
Just watching this stuff unfold has been the most fun I've had since COVID dropped.

What are the chances we get another one of these reactions soon?

Is that a smash player when they're told they have to take a shower before entering the tournament/tendies hall?

Former Tesla board member tells Twitter to 'put on your track shoes now' and prepare to work with Elon Musk

Former Tesla board member Steve Westly warned Twitter that it would have to learn to work at Elon Musk's pace after the social media company announced on Tuesday that the Tesla CEO had joined its board of directors.

"My advice to Twitter executives is put on your track shoes now because Elon is going to push you to pick up the pace," Westly told Bloomberg on Tuesday. "Here we are day one into this and he's already saying 'Hey, maybe it's time to get that edit function in there.' I think he's going to shake things up," the Tesla investor added.

Before the announcement that Musk had joined Twitter's board, the billionaire tweeted a poll: "Do you want an edit button?" A day later, Twitter announced it has been working on an edit button for the app, though the company denied the development was related to Musk's poll.

The billionaire said he is "looking forward to working with Parag & Twitter board to make significant improvements to Twitter in coming months!" Wall Street analysts have speculated that Musk's ideas for Twitter could lead to a clash with the company's CEO, Parag Agrawal.

"It's not going to be quiet," Westly said about Musk's potential interactions with Agrawal. The longtime Tesla bull, who is managing partner and founder of venture fund The Westly Group, also noted Musk can be "a bit temperamental and irascible," but said his involvement could be a "big win for Twitter."

With over 80 million followers, Musk is one of Twitter's most powerful users, but he has been outspoken in criticizing the app in the past. On March 25, he posted a poll asking if the platform adhered to "free speech" principles. In December, shortly after Agrawal replaced Jack Dorsey as CEO, Musk appeared to criticize the new CEO. He tweeted a photoshopped image of Joseph Stalin and former Soviet official Nikolai Yezhov, with Agrawal's head photoshopped on Stalin and Dorsey's on Yezhov.

The Tesla CEO is also known for his intensity. At Tesla and SpaceX, he has pushed for lofty goals and has even been known to work as much as 120 hours a week and sleep on the factory floor. Former executives have said the billionaire can be a difficult person to work for, prone to bouts of anger and even instances of rage-firing employees — allegations he has adamantly denied, calling them "false" on Twitter and saying he gives "clear and frank" feedback to employees.

Ultimately, Westly said Musk could help push Twitter into the future and provide an example to other Fortune 500 companies of how to build a direct relationship with consumers.

Twitter stock has soared this week, following Musk's disclosure Monday that he had taken a 9.2% stake in the social media company and Tuesday's announcement that he had joined the board. Shares closed Tuesday at $50.98, up nearly 30% from Friday's close. They continue to trade around $50 a share.

Ok all these anti wokes cheerleading elons Twitter. Literally nothing has changed and at best he’s going to add an edit function and get more aggressive with monetization. He owns 9-10% of Twitter (while breaking the law as usual for Elon). That isn’t the same as owning the company he gets a say not THE say in how things are run.

Twitter will likely be better for it but I doubt any large changes are coming.

You can either throw around dismissive terms, or you can debate the merit of the comparison. Why isn't it valid? Seems like a valid criticism to me, but rather than "whataboutism" I think a stronger question would be where has Elon prevented that story from being discussed on twitter or anywhere else? And if he is a hypocrite when it comes to free speech, people should point that out and challenge him to be the absolutist he claims to be.

Another point to make is if one person is trying to use twitter to censor criticism of his company, and another group is trying to use twitter to censor criticism of someone running for president, neither of those things are good, but I have a strong opinion about which of them is worse.

More than anywhere else? It's not even the second largest social media website. Hell it isn't even the third most popular. Facebook, Instagram, and Reddit all have more daily activity and traffic than Twitter does. Calling it "the public square" is ridiculous. It's a private platform that is entitled to impose it's own ToS. If you want to use it then just follow the rules. If you break them you get suspended or banned. That's not a free speech issue. Also the narrative that Twitter only allows one viewpoint or bans everyone of a certain political opinion is also nonsense.

I also know that Musk is smart enough to know this. So I assume he has an angle here somewhere. The price of the stock is obviously going to go up now after his purchase. Might just be a quick flip for him.

Reddit is more active than Twitter?

Wtf lol

It's crazy how 99% of media is Left leaning. But why is that? I'm guessing it's because Hollywood and Silicon Valley are California based?

She subscribes to the fallacy that no change is better than some change. If Elon Musk only censored stuff about himself but left everything else as feee speech we would undoubtedly be in a much better position than we are now. Small price to pay to be honest.

I believe its mainly because they've taken over academia and thats where everyone gets hired from. Especially humanities/arts/social sciences departments are full indoctrination camps and no other thought is tolerated/passed. So every single journalist, writer, editor joining news organization is a brainwashed leftist. This has happened over decades and now the takeover is complete. Now they are coming for STEM too. In general colleges, especially in the US, have gone so far down that rabbit hole that people with other ways of thinking cant even get it, let alone survive or thrive.
And not even a right leaning government can change it. Its a famous quote in left academia in India, which I think applies everywhere now- 'So what if the government is yours, the system is ours.'
