cool stuff.
kinda weird that three of the richest people are all tech bros from Cali. you have Amazon Bezos, who has been far more successful at destroying brick & mortar competition than the robber barons ever dreamed of.
then you have Bill Gates, another West Coaster, a corporate hippie who got his start serving the world's first DMCA to his friends in the Homebrew Computer Club.
next to these guys, and Mark Suckerberg and the assholes at Twitter and social media, Musk is a breath of fresh air. he is successful at multiple things, not just his cars, which after the Prius have helped popularize the electric vehicle to an immense degree. this is good for the planet, no? i don't see why leftists hate him but of course they hate everyone irrationally, him actually helping their cause doesn't change the fact.
besides doing Tesla he does SpaceX as well, which itself alone would be worthy of massive praise. the space industry began as a wartime industry, with elite Ivy league institutions working in coordination with the US gov't (and employing Nazi war criminals, don't forget about that) in order to race the Russians to the moon. SpaceX is a sign of us growing beyond that Cold War mentality. a bright, shining beacon of hope for the future. if the world had more well-meaning, risk-taking, occasionally foolish entrepeneurs like him, who were actually CREATING THINGS instead of trying to manipulate people and information, the world would be in a much brighter place.
it already is, with Elon Musk in it.
