You know, wiiu is the first Nintendo system I felt has really bad third party support. Wii has a lot of really good third party exclusives to be honest. It doesn't have the triple A multiplats but exclusives were solid in my eyes.
Anyways I feel what you're saying, I'm cautiously optimistic. It may just be another Nintendo player like a WiiU, and if that's the case they better bring the games fast and hard

It's especially ridiculous because Emily Rogers has one of the better track records of any Nintendo insiders but she still gets these "oh, attention-seeking" "oh, more BS" allegations. It's nuts.
Nobody can ever point to why they doubt her either, aside from rumours from years ago or which she had no involvement in. The past few things she's reported on have been right with no strings attached (i.e. they don't involve any backpedalling or sudden revelation of pertinent information that she allegedly knew all along but didn't reveal), so I think it seems fair that she's earned our trust.

Care to elaborate..? I haven't seen any solid reasons to immediately discard what Emily Rogers says. A bit of caution, sure, but she has a good track record that's not fair to dismiss entirely as some people tend to do. There've been a fair few doubters making things personal or acting like she's a hack or attention seeker, but that just isn't a fair accusation.

Between this and Nintendo stopping Wii U production, it sounds like Wii U first party support will drop off to 0 when the NX releases.
While it seems like their plans for the NX is to have all handheld and console hardware and software development combined in the future, I wonder if the NX will be able to combine both starting with the NX and the 3DS (assuming that will be the only SKUs getting support in the short-term future) or is their plan to get some handheld replacement out there soon so they can take advantage of their more streamlined work output for the NX?

So please, don't get your panties in a twist. There have been more posts mentioning "Team Emily!" than there have been posts about her being an attention... Nobody has heralded LCGeek as a hero, just that he has he trustworthy trackrecord and he gave us the first bit of actual information on what to expect concerning performance. The Redditors were mostly laughing stock.

If Nintendo's NX output is of WiiU's quality but more of it, then I'm good. WiiU might not have the most extensive library, but Nintendo's games are fucking fantastic on it. Many classics on that system and I think people will get a newfound appreciation for its library in time.

I think, re: home consoles, they might realize that they have ten million people who will buy almost anything first-party - games, accessories, toys, etc - and that they can be profitable by focusing on those folks.
I also think that, at least in terms of expanding their ecosystem, that's why they have Amiibo and are venturing into mobile - the idea is that those things can catch the eye of people outside of the ecosystem and be tied back into the ownership of a Nintendo console by interacting with the console, which is probably pretty obvious at this point. But I do think that this will be the roundabout way they take to expanding their ecosystem - and in the end, those 10M of enthusiastic Nintendo buyers are a bedrock that they can count on, and they will make any NX home console profitable.
(I didn't touch handheld consoles in my previous post because I really don't know what to expect from the dedicated handheld market going forward.)

Emily Rogers has a tendency to overhype things while being incredibly vague about them. The "NX will have all the software." rumor is something that doesn't lend a lot of credibility. 10k at least was concrete however dubious some of his information was.

tbh, I like my Nintendo games to take a long time. Their output is top notch. I rarely see any issues with their first party releases. Cutting down on dev time seems like it will hurt this.
