Epic acknowledges that it’s easier to die in Fortnite’s free cars than its paid ones

As demonstrated on TikTok by Nickeh30, a number of the free cars in Fortnite – which can be found in the base free-to-play game or unlocked without spending money – make it easier for their drivers to be killed than some of the paid cars.

In the video, Nickeh30 shows how a Whiplash car, which is free in the game, has a large windscreen which means players can enter the passenger seat of the car, lean out the window and kill the driver by shooting through the windscreen.

He then demonstrates this with a number of other free cars, including the Werewolf, the Scorpion and the Masamune, by jumping into the passenger side of each and killing their drivers by shooting through the windscreen.
However, he then enters the passenger side of a Samurai, a car which can only be acquired with real money, and shows that the much smaller windscreen makes it harder to see the driver, let alone kill them.

“While it’s still possible to hit your opponent sometimes, it’s way more difficult than these ‘pay-to-lose’ cars,” he says.

The discrepancy between windscreen sizes has technically created a ‘pay-to-win’ situation, something Epic has said would never be the case in Fortnite.
As such, the company provided a statement to Kotaku saying it knew about the problem and was looking into a solution.

“We’re aware of the issue and have a fix planned for an upcoming build,” the company said.

It’s not yet clear if this means the windscreens will be changed entirely, or if some other change will be implemented to make it easier to kill drivers in paid cars, or harder to kill drivers in free ones.

There's been a bunch of stuff like this. There's a character called Bushranger who looks like a bush. He was a paid character for a long time and if you stand inside a bush with that skin, he's a lot harder to see than other skins. They eventually made versions of his skin available in the battlepass.

As always: When the product/service is free, you are the product. If you don't like it, don't use "free" products/services.

The new season was extremely fun on launch
Then they wanted to add a solution for people on foot..
the solution should have been either chains of hades return (knock people out of the car) or bringing back the EMP grenade..
but no.. they chose boogie bombs.. and now the game is retarded.

Just use a boogie bomb to force them to jump out of the car entirely and mow them down while they are stuck dancing. Very gratifying.

It's more broken than anything else.. the dance is supposed to end when you take damage but it does not.. it's broken as fuck when you can just toss an item and then murder an entire team with no effort.

You’re telling me they intentionally include poor game design in order to entice people to spend money?
