Erotic games thrive on Switch as PlayStation’s rules grow stricter

The biggest issue is lack of discovery tools/filters. Same shit exists on Steam, but I never see that for the most part.

However if I go into eShop sales, it’s free for all. There are no recommendations, ability to filter out tags, discord queues and so on. It’s aggravating as hell, especially considering how slow the whole thing is.
yeah their online design has always been a little clumsy, lets see if they improve it with next generation

Make sense. Sony want to protect their audience from being exposed to such contents.

Thinks buying more servers can fix a bad patch
There was a change because Nintendo's sales strategies with the Wii U and 3DS weren't working out for them, they were losing their audience

They realized most of their audience are adults now unlike the 90s /early 2000s and they simply allowed all third party companies to publish their stuff unchecked thats why there are so many Otome games on Switch now,why they publish Bayonetta and let tons of violent M rated content.

Most of these games on the eshop aren't actual porn they are standard visual novel stuff that appeals to a niche audience

It doesn't really damage their image,or the quality or their games heck they are about to release a first party visual novel about a serial killer wearing a paper bag who murders high school students

Nintendo hasn't cared about censorship in a long time, they help the ESRB to allow more content its just that their main brands appeal to the whole family and target audience was casual gamers, they changed focus to core gamers with the Switch

Some people here are still stuck in the 90s

I come to believe this is by design. They don't want you to find exactly what you're looking for; it's like those spare parts boxes in a supermarket where you have to dig through everything. You're supposed to browse through a ton of games and start with the impulse purchases.

Personally, I stopped browsing real quick and rather look for specific titles. On Steam however I really like to browse by those tags.

That would have been fine… if they didn’t have a lot more shit that nobody sane would buy vs actual games you may want to splurge on.

If I am browsing through their sales and I have to go through giant piles of crap VNs or asset flips, I just give up and don’t get anything.

On Steam side since crap is mostly filtered I have gotten plenty of games at random. Plus the return system and robust review implementation help for impulse buys.

Steam is likely the worst. Reviewing new games coming out and at least half are porn games. I do not mind some amount of adult content, but when you view the game page it is always hardcore porn with exaggerated genitals. It will only get worse.
You have to actively opt-on to seeing porn games, or so someone told me.

There are settings you would need to activate/deactivate (based on your own setup) to see that shit. If people are seeing Porn games at that rate... well, its what they look at.

Whoever wrote that article doesn't know what they are talking about. Eroge refers to games rated 18+ with actual sex scenes etc. They do not exist on console. When they want to bring an eroge to console, they remove all of that adult only content, so it is not an eroge any more.
Furthermore, many of the games shown in that Twitter image are also available on PlayStation.
