I've never seen even the most cynical Rooney fans dismiss his talents and ability when he was younger. There's a difference between that and what he is now. You only had to watch the 10 man United performances last season to see that.

Come on. He was injured for a big part of the past season. And obviously players change as they age. Rooney is one who is clever enough that he can still be effective in a different way in a different position.

The fans in the stadium aren't usually the issue, why punish them? it's the morons who have no intention of even watching the game that are the problem, what they should do is ban all travel for problem nationalities to that entire country unless you have tickets or proof of your business to be in the country.

Until they figure out a way to do that, the problem will only get worse, especially at the next world cup as the Russian police will give no fucks about breaking their bones or even killing them, providing of course, they actually get a visa to enter
