Teared up at the end of Logan. Also, there was a movie that I saw while I was in grade school that I think was in alaska or some snowy cold place where there was a dog race and at the end like the protagonist's dog died and I think he had to carry the dog to the finish line. I really wish I knew the name.

Jelly Belly
Mulholland Drive.. Silencio Theater scene.. Rebecca Del Rio.. Llorando..

it wasnt sad in perticular but it invoked a very strong feeling with me. It remains my fav scene of all time. Not just the performance but the whole scene.

Man I fucking love that movie

I got choked up with The Best Years of Our Lives and Shadowlands.

Many others have choked me up I guess, but I don't think I've ever actually cried.

A few times. One that got me the most was the cemetery scene at the end of Saving Private Ryan.

Basically any soldiers active movie. I’m such a bitch when it comes to our troops.

Passion of the Christ.

Since having a daughter, any movie where a parent dies and leaves behind a child, including a fucking super hero movie that will not be mentioned due to spoilering but you know the one.

pretty sure this thread already happened but ya one of the problems with movies is that you know they're not real so its very difficult for me to trigger that emotional sadness to tear up.

but then there are the rare exceptions because it actually was real.

Furious 7 destroyed me. Opening night, theater full of dudes and many laughs were had. When the ending hit the whole room was dead silent, not a single sound and people left mostly silently after. It was kinda impressive.

If it makes you feel better, Paul Walker was an actual peado.

I cried to lots of movies. Edward Scissorhands was one of the first movies where I started balling.

Powder broke me down. I was watching at a friend's house and I had to get up and go to another room as it was too much for me. I felt embarrassed but I cried quite a bit. I never finished it even as a result.

Last movie I cried to was Green Mile which I saw a couple weeks ago. I saw it before but it was about 20 years of not seeing it. I was balling at the end....

after they showed the mouse, Mr. Jingles, who was still alive along with Tom Hanks character since the 30s. The last shot of the little mouse sleeping as old Hanks narrated the end broke me down in tears. No exaggeration but I was crying for about an hour after that end.

Schindler's List, Paris, Texas (that phone booth scene, god damn...) and La Strada by Fellini are the main offenders. I was in tears each time I saw them.

Some movies by Yasujiro Ozu moved me a lot as well. When parents are letting go of their children after their wedding, and end up alone and depressed in their homes. Empty nest syndrome sucks.

Most devastating was The green mile. My mother and I were basically swimming in our own tears when Coffey explains what really happened, and I had read the book beforehand. That was the only time a movie brought me past misty-eyedness or spilling a couple of actual tears.

I've cut onions with a movie for the first time during the ending of Creed 2. And it was not because of Adonis but instead it was because of Ivan Drago and his son.

Jay and silent Bob strike back
Dogma (Jay going mental at god)
CKY 1, 2 and 4
Haggard (bottle throwing)
Naked gun
Bruce almighty (Steve carrol newsreading scene)
Southpark movie

Far too many times.

  • When I was a kid I cried in the cinema when Littlefoots' mom dies in The Land Before Time, I also remember my older brother laughing at me because I was crying.
  • I cried at the end of ET.
  • During the song "Somewhere Out There" in An American Tail
  • For some weird reason, I have cried at the end of The Fellowship Of The Ring, and normally well up when I rewatch it.
  • The Green Mile for fairly obvious reasons.
  • The scene in Hotel Rwanda when all the non-Africans are leaving and the children come running through the rain with the missionaries.
  • The marriage montage from Up
  • The "Take Reily to the moon for me" scene from Inside Out
  • The ice dance scene from Edward Scissorhands
  • The final few scenes from Big Fish
  • John Q

Closer to cry few times.

I find cringe if not scary when I read people saying "I cried like a child for shitty movie n.267".

If you easily cry for movies... how do you deal with the harshness of life? (Spoiler: extremely poorly)

Cried like a baby at ET when I was a kid. Feel like that movie is engineered to make kids cry.

Also Edward Scissorhands. That theme song is so sad.

Lost ending

In TV the end of the Luck of the Fryish, that somehow hit me like a truck.

Grave of the Fireflies messed me up good. 10/10 must watch.

Thank you.

Happens the contrary to me; I can immerse myself easily in whatever movie I'm watching and I empathize hard as fuck.

I cried so many times I've lost track of all of them.

This one is awesome:

Yeah I will tear up at the most hackneyed things these days. Interstellar when Matthew is watching his children age rapidly hit me. He’s a good actor tho. Dude sold the hell out of that cry.

Nothing wrong with crying an emotional movie is almost like a safe space. Cry then so that you can be stronger in your regular life.

Oddly enough watching Luke Skywalker die I felt nothing.

Gladiator always gets to me..
My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next.
