I live in China. My neighbors are Christian, which being China is a very rare thing. We're good friends and they don't push a religious angle other than praying before eating anytime we eat together. No Fuss, no bother and I can respect that.

If she says no it's pretty safe to say she's not interested or a genuine cultist in which case it's an easy way to avoid her from that point forward.
But otherwise she's looking for companionship.

Just a little advice from a fellow atheist as well.
The vast majority of people believe in some higher power.
If you narrow your friends/lovers to just atheists you're going to lead a lonely life.
If it were me and I wanted a relationship with her I would just tell her that I don't believe in the same way she does nor probably ever will.
I might go to church a few times to make her happy but as long as you don't browbeat the subject constantly it doesn't have to be a dominant subject in your lives.

My only problem with that is it allows nuance into friends territory. By asking her out to dinner you make your intentions clear. I want a relationship (physical or otherwise) or please stop bothering me.
It's a good tactic if you might want to be friends though.

Depending on the religion and their practices, even as an atheist I’d rather marry say a southern Christian girl with wholesome values than some free spirit atheist hippie from the west coast. Good chance that religious girl is going to be a good parent who teaches your kids good values and is loyal and caring as a partner. I was on a night shift work pattern had some Jehovah's come round mid afternoon waking me up. Being too polite to tell them to fuck off I listened to them and they wanted to do a prayer for me, asked me what I would like them to prayer for. I said to have a good night shift so they did. I live in a very mormon community outside of Phoenix so I have plenty of neighbors that ride their bikes around and knock on doors. They're kind folks but years ago a couple of them got so annoying I had to tell them we were Satanists for them to go away for good. It actually doesn't make me happy. I was actually a little sad I got zero laughs in response to the randomly flying together stuff. The whole sentence was sarcasm and had nothing to do with any specific church OP left behind. We aren't even talking about my church of choice. OP never stated what kind of church.

Seriously yes, had the same thing (minus the god bothering element). I'd started a new job, she was working there and was 20. No life experiance, hadnt been to uni and still lived with her (somewhat overprotective) parents. She decided she wanted some DILF action with me but didn't know how to get there. Oh yeah it happens. I got stuck training under a guy who thought I was his son or something. That part was fine. He was a nice old guy, whatever.

He did start in on trying to save my soul tho. So I assured him that Jesus was awesome but I don't believe my soul would be lost if I didn't join his fan club. I didn't tell him to stop. Just let him know that I've already thought about it and will do my own thing with my soul.

I don't find it offensive. Part of being a Christian is getting worried about people's souls and then trying to save them. I appreciate it, in a way. Annoying, though. Or exhausting if you can't get away from it- my histrionic dad had a hell of a born again streak.

She's young,, probably around 24 or so, she's nice when I have interacted with her and even has brought over some dishes and deserts she had made (which admittedly was quite good), at first she didn't say anything about church or the bible etc. But recently that has changed, when she comes over she'll bring some food and talk a bit but has started asking me to come to her church, even gave me a religious book; not a bible but a novel. She really is sweet and nice but having grown up in a VERY religious family that, while not at all abusive or anything and did provide nevertheless at 18 I moved out and never went to church again and became an atheist. Not that I push my views on others and I do realize she's not bad or anything by any means, and I know she means well, but this can get annoying.
