That's a shame, as I hear a lot of Xbox fans were looking forward to itThis showcase is going to upset some people a lot.
You seen Prime 4 ?I've seen development hell you people wouldn't believe...
it already has. It stinks of desperation on here lately. Looking forward to more negative Xbox thread necros, and endlessThis showcase is going to upset some people a lot.
So true. The Xbox trolling is unreal.it already has. It stinks of desperation on here lately. Looking forward to more negative Xbox thread necros, and endlessemojis. This show is going to crush some souls.
I can assure you. he knows nothing!?
Microsoft could show it next month. Unless you know something...?
Ya, that sounds like a brilliant plan. "Hey guys, let's make a big budget AAA, single player, character platformer in 2022!"Just scrap it and make a new Banjo instead
It ain't hard
If its rebooted, then it will take long time.?

Rare be likeJust scrap it and make a new Banjo instead
It ain't hard
First, stop.If its rebooted, then it will take long time.
Rebooting a project doesn't mean faster release date.
For all we know, this project could be canceled.
It was MS mistake showing this project, without production being 70% complete.
Ya, that sounds like a brilliant plan. "Hey guys, let's make a big budget AAA, single player, character platformer in 2022!"
Reboot means, they will have to start back from square 1. It will take them normal development time to make the game again.1. This reboot happened ages ago.
If that teaser is getting rebooted, then the game still on fresh side. It will need alot of time, before it ready for release.2. don't speculate a release date for a game that had nothing but a teaser trailer.
Reboot doesnt mean cancelled. It means old idea is not worth it. They are trying to look at this game, from a different angle. Whatever you saw on that trailer, wont be a part of the new game. Or maybe that trailer was the new reboot. Who knows.3. again more speculation. its not cancelled, if it was cancelled I'm sure we would have found out by now.
you dont make a teaser for a game, which you are not 100% sure, you will work on. MS made a big gamble, and they paid the price. Hope this will teach them, not to rely on CGI trailers. It sets people, unrealistic views, which can harm the game's launch.4. again it was a TEASER trailer. nobody is making teasers for games that are 70% complete.
Not necessarily true. Reboot can mean a number of things on a game development project. it doesn't always mean scraping everything and starting over.Reboot means, they will have to start back from square 1. It will take them normal development time to make the game again.
Again, we don't know how much was built before the reeboot. what the scope of the game is/was. Pretty difficult to know if it needs a lot of time since we don't know where they were.If that teaser is getting rebooted, then the game still on fresh side. It will need alot of time, before it ready for release.
I already stated it doesn't mean cancelled. It also doesn't mean they threw everything away and started over.Reboot doesnt mean cancelled. It means old idea is not worth it. They are trying to look at this game, from a different angle. Whatever you saw on that trailer, wont be a part of the new game. Or maybe that trailer was the new reboot. Who knows.
Yes you do! Sorry but are you a game developer now? Teasers are always made early on to give a glimpse at game that hasn't gone through the paces of development. Nothing is 100% when something is early in development.you dont make a teaser for a game, which you are not 100% sure, you will work on. MS made a big gamble, and they paid the price. Hope this will teach them, not to rely on CGI trailers. It sets people, unrealistic views, which can harm the game's launch.
If you are rebooting a game, which is in development, you are going to change alot of stuff. Which means, certain parts of the game would be scrapped. Not necessarily true. Reboot can mean a number of things on a game development project. it doesn't always mean scraping everything and starting over.
All we know, was that Rare didn't know, which direction to take this game for.Again, we don't know how much was built before the reeboot. what the scope of the game is/was. Pretty difficult to know if it needs a lot of time since we don't know where they were.
Correct. Teasers aren't for us. But for other game developers. Its like job advertising.Yes you do! Sorry but are you a game developer now? Teasers are always made early on to give a glimpse at game that hasn't gone through the paces of development. Nothing is 100% when something is early in development.
I am pretty sure Everwild was a trailer, and not a teaser.Again there is a difference between a TRAILER and a TEASER. Its like you haven't seen a movie before? same thing applies to games.
Not for perfect dark and fable. Both are on track, since they don't have definitive release date.As with Fable and Perfect Dark, this was revealed far too early, rendering the initial trailer essentially pointless.
How do you know? I seriously doubt Perfect Dark is 'on track' given the mass of resignations at The Initiative. Not for perfect dark and fable. Both are on track, since they don't have definitive release date.
Fable have been in production for a long time. And for perfect dark, there is foundation.
Everwild on other hand, is overly ambitious game, which Rare tried to do.
You rally don't know this or even have any context for what games go through in development. Reboot doesn't necessarily mean "a lot" in game development. A design reboot could mean drastic changes to game play without changing alot of art, a art reboot can mean improving or redoing assets to meet a certain theme, that can be done without changing code.If you are rebooting a game, which is in development, you are going to change alot of stuff. Which means, certain parts of the game would be scrapped.
This is true and I agree with that statementAll we know, was that Rare didn't know, which direction to take this game for.
Rebooting it, will allow it to have a solid foundation, which Rare can use it, to build the game.
Teasers are for us. Who do you think the advertising is targeting? Just like movies, it gives you a glimpse or an idea on a theme without going deeper.Correct. Teasers aren't for us. But for other game developers. Its like job advertising.
According to the report the original design leads left before they went into full development. When creative leads leave, that can sometimes leave a lack of direction until someone is hired or steps up to set a new direction or continue where the previous people left off.The problem however, is the direction.
According to the reports, Rare had no idea what the game is. Which led to the reboot.
unnecessary projects? you're putting blame where it shouldn't be. If MS needed content as "fast as possible" they wouldn't be hands off like they are. There was no need to rush anything.MS should have known more about this. Creating unnecessary projects, which you don't know the direction is waste of time, for someone like MS, who clearly needs content as fast as possible.
Its a teaserI am pretty sure Everwild was a trailer, and not a teaser.
Fable, wolverine, and cyberpunk2077 was a teaser.
Fable has definitely been in dev for quite a considerable amount of time. I remember at one of the E3 Xbox conferences i watched, if memory serves, it was the 2019 one I believe Playground wasn't at the show and Phil smiled when a person from the audience yelled Fable after Phil stated they were working on something new & exciting. So, it's been in the cradle for a good long while. Perfect Dark is dancing back in forth in my head right now, especially after reading that its development was so rocky (some ex Initiative devs cited a lack of vision), that it was slowed down almost to a grind and they had to bring Crystal on board to help with dev. That worries me a little, but I'm still cautiously optimistic. Not for perfect dark and fable. Both are on track, since they don't have definitive release date.
Fable have been in production for a long time. And for perfect dark, there is foundation.
