EVO 2012 Thread 2 Because one thread wasnt enough to hold all the hype and the salt

What about Zak Bennett? Saw nothing from him on stream, was hoping he'd be shown doing a lot of kidnapping with Firebrand.
 
Daaaamn, most of my favourites to make it out of marvel pools have been cleaned up :( Guess I'll root for Combofiend/Justin now!
 
Anyone have a link to the ST top 8 or top 16? I haven't been able to find it on IEBattlegrounds and don't see anything on the main srkevo1 channel.
 
I really want Humanbomb to win SF, i'll just go to sleep urley 'till Kof comes up or it will be hard to stay up 'till the end e.e

Gonna grab a Subway then head home, finish off a few stuff then watch up til the SFxT matches end, hit the sack then wake up for SSF4 finals.
Can't catch the Umvc3 finals since that starts at around 4 AM mi country time @_@
 
I passed out before they got to top 8 in marvel last night. I'm not surprised by some of those players, but what happened to Yipes? He looked so strong lately.

Also, what was the peak view count last night? SF4 top 32 peaked at around 53k.

50k for Marvel, other people said that SF4 peaked at 58k though. Myself personally I saw it at 53k when Daigo played Gamerbee. Then I forgot to check it out the rest of the night.
 
Stupid heat has had me sick all weekend. Keep missing stuff, but I'll be damned if I miss anything today. Hell, I may even watch SFxTK.
 
So I got home after a night out, caught the tail end of the ST tournament, then proceeded to catch up on Marvel top 100 or so.

It's 4 hours later. I'm so hyped for this to start again! Anybody have an idea of the peak viewership? Seems like this is going to smash records. Shoutouts to Spooky and Iplaywinner for the godlike streams. 720p+ looks glorious on my TV.

SF4 peaked at around 53-58k viewers day 1. That's not counting the other streams as well. Today will easily beat that number though.

What was the maximum viewer count last year?
 
I'm gonna sleep now and wake up later (plus 9 hours here in EU) to watch everything. I don't want to miss anything because this is EVO and I'm pretty sure every games will be hype, even the ones I usually don't watch (SCV and MK9).

ST grand finals were the greatest GF since forever.
 
This probably is the best EVO in a long time. So many new players bring the heat to old tested vets. Its just great, it shows everyone with time and practice even the legends can fall. Gonna go hit the gym and be back to watch all of the finals! AE 2012 is what im looking forward to the most, its going to be fucking epic!
 
So many drops and so much salt. Players are apparently complaining of the PS3 version being used for the drops and delays in their combos. I wonder why they used PS3 this year and not 360 like last year?
 
Is there any chance whatsoever of AE running in time? I plan to wake up early (european here) to watch it but i really don't care about any of the stuff before that (except maybe KOF).

Because Sony sponsors Evo? And i cant see Evolution losing out on all that money. Sony has been a sponsor for a while now. Did Sony air this years Evo on Home?

Its a known fact that a lot of PS3 versions have a 1 frame input lag. That makes a huge difference at this level.

82k was the highest on ustream. But that doesn't take into account the 2nd stream (which also showed grand finals) and the PSHome stream.

I think it was around 30k. Everyone was hype last year when it hit 55k for MK9 last year. It rose up to 72k for Marvel, and finally went to 82 for AE.

As far as I know, EVO has always been PS3. They started with PS3 for Tekken Dark Resurrection in 2008 I think and since they had them in stock already, they just bought more for SF4 the following year and it's been PS3 ever since. Players have complained about this, but it's too late to change now. EVO is so huge that they would probably need to buy 100+ Xbox 360's and hundreds of new copies of at least SF4 and Marvel 3 let alone several copies for the other games as well. The investment would probably cost over 30k just to please a small percentage of the players. Keep in mind that EVO owns all there stuff, they're not asking the community to bring in monitors, consoles, or games. When you consider all of that, frankly it's just not worth it. I think they would change if they found a sponsor just for this, but at this point there is no going back.

Pretty sure they've been using PS3s since the start of the generation.

Yea I just looked It up. For most tournament matches if it's on PS3 they play Danger Room only as well because there's nothing in the background to make the game slowdown either. That's crazy stuff. Well more salt for us.

Edit: Well I was mistaken then as you all above me said. I could of sworn one of the Evo years had 360.
 
Doesn't Sony sponsor them anyway? So I doubt we'll get Xbox for evo any time soon.

Anyway, I'm rooting for dieminion and Ooooooooo Goooooddddddddd dammmnnnnnnnnn
 
Crap. Gonna miss UMvC3 finals. What's the best place to catch replays without spoilers afterward? Or is that not possible?
 
I was watching the ST finals, was really pulling for the Honda to win over the Vega, damn it man Vega is so dirty in ST.

And I found the Mame Spider vs. Clockwork match in the archive, holy shit - I've got my new favorite Marvel match of EVO right now, and looking at the top 8 list, nothing will top it in my book - Spider-Man all the way.

I'll watch the ChrisG match later on today or something, I've been up for a few hours now but feel lazy as hell.
