EVO 2012 Thread 2 Because one thread wasnt enough to hold all the hype and the salt

Different teams and different producers.

Nitsuma, MVC3's producer has been adamant that he's done with any patches.

Ono, SSFIV's producer, has not been as concrete and definite, so more balance patches can be expected. I expect a final patch.

To be fair I think the MvC3 thing is out of Nitsuma's hands (i.e. he probably has no team/funding/say in the matter).

Man, I forgot all about SFxT, we gotta watch that today, don't we

I fell asleep early yesterday and missed a bunch of Mahvel. Just finished going through Guilty Gear, Blazblue and Skullgirls top 8 in an epic stream monster journey. Now I find out I'm only halfway into the MvC3 footage.

God help me...

Yeah, I think the same. It's pretty frustrating because it's a good game, and there seems to be a lot of fan support. No replay saving still stings. Sad so much money got wasted on SFxT.

Look at my previous post.

I did, I was just responding to the ''Look at the OP'' comment. That is all!

Also, I don't think I will be awake by then, so is there an archive place where I can watch the finals in it entirety? I only care about AE btw.

@Fancy- He did a Lvl. 2 super that caused a Guard crush on his opponent. The Lvl. 2 super also gives Shen Woo an attack boost. He then followed with a combo that ended in a Lvl. 3 super which resulted in big damage.

I remain pretty convinced that Niitsuma held out vain hope for a while that one final patch / small DLC expansion for UMVC3 could possibly be made, and that's why there are certain teases in the game such as Mega Man's wanted poster being clean of any captured or dead text. They probably do have design docs for the other 8 characters that he wanted to do.

But at this point bad priorities screwed the pooch and it is probably a done deal. Really bad priorities. For example: given how popular SFIV and Marvel are in the tournament scene, it's pretty damn stupid that a patch for either game hasn't been made to enable stuff like select screen button check. But something like that would require a bit more financial investment, as it would require altering interface graphics and such. A pure balance patch for AE might happen because it is more practical within the meager resources being given the teams.

Sadly, Capcom suits seem as if they want to take advantage of the fact that there is an enthusiastic robust fan community for these games... but they don't want to invest in supporting said community very much. The game producers themselves want to support it, that is pretty clear at this point.

Out of curiousity, why is the only stage used in UMvC3 EVO play is the danger room? Is it part of EVO rules, like MLG, or is it just player preference.

I remember when Africa was the main stage used SSFIV for most tourney, but that was pretty much player preference.

All player preference.

Other stages cause lag.

Instead they're throwing over $50K at a SFxT tournament. Oi.

Been streaming on iPad all weekend. Been hard to cross post in the thread.

But did anyone execute the Kubota escape at all yesterday? Thinking not...

I agree with you.but why can't people just give the game a couple more years before releasing more patches and dlcs. like no one uses jill or s.gorath.

So has the finals schedule been changed at all?

I heard they're trying to get VF5 finals on main stream, and watch it totally take the place of SFxT's top 8, because Cross Tekken is the FGC's whipping boy.

EDIT: Also, I want those fucking hype intro packages before each Top 8. Please say there's some info on those continuing to exist.

God help me...

I'll tell you a match you need to see. MameSpiderman vs Superbot Cl0ckwork and then F Champ vs Knives.

Some of the best stuff that happened were these matches. Also watch out of Frutsy and Kinderparty. They are entertaining guys rocking oddballs like MODOK or Arthur.
