Well, that's the thing with the FGC. Shit always runs late.Next year they should really focus on following the schedule, it's the most important thing for the casual viewers.

They really should have had all demonstrations on saturday night and only have the main six games on sunday. Starting an hour or two earlier would also help.
Not sure if you're trolling or mixing him up w/ Infiltration.Gamerbee, who had to resort to counter picking to win!!
No offense, but you and your friends sound like scrubs.

Last thing: Dieminion is my psuedo AE Evo champ*. The 2 matches he lost to were the most unstoppable force in Evo history, and Gamerbee, who had to resort to counter picking to win!!

If you want 3/5 Grand Finals for KOF to continue, I think they're going to need to shave down to at least Top 6 the day before.

Just a little quip about Mahvel.
First of all, congrats to Champ for winning it all. Secondly, I have to give all the credit in the world to Chris G. for this tournament. He ran a ridiculous gauntlet through top 8 to get to losers final. He beat (and really outplayed) Justin Wong, beat the man who sent him to losers in the first place, Flocker, and beat one of the most talented fighting game players in the world in Combofiend. Then he played Champ in an amazing FT3 set. I know alot of people criticized his raw tag decision to lose the set, but cmon. He had a million ideas and strategies running through his head in that 1 second and probably went straight to muscle memory in tagging to save Morrigan. I personally think Chris G. is the best Marvel player in the world and will always consider him a favorite to win. Also, props to Infrit for blowing it up too. Never will I sleep on him again!

I can't imagine that VF5 and TT2 ran longer than maybe 45 minutes or so combined, and Evo finished out at what, 2-2.5 hours late? Not really the problem there.
Gouken isn't a counterpick to Guile.
If you were not amazed at the master screen control by MAD's Duo Lon then you need to get your fighting game credentials checked.
KOF was super hype!
around 2 hours for Marvel. Around 3 for KOF but like others are saying even SCV started a half hour later and SFxTekken started an hour later.looking at the schedule, I honestly think one of the biggest problems for EVO running super late was Marvel. I get that people like the 3/5 format, but grand finals took 30 minutes alone iirc. I don't know the exact start and end times, but I see 1.5 hrs were given to Marvel, anyone know how long it actually took?
Gouken isn't a counterpick to Guile.
It was a counter-pick for Die if not Guile.

MK9 won't be back anyway.I don't know what exhibitions they will have next year, but if they have 2 main stage set-ups to cut out the button checks, and actually get started at 10am next year, it should be better I think.
And ban fatalities![]()

didn't infil like 11-0 dieminion at SB this year? or something ridiculous.
Having to look up the move is pretty bad. I can't imagine needing to look up the input for any character I play in any fighting game.I agree about the fatalities.
I thought that last year it was considered bad taste, this year we had people doing them left and right and even looking up the move lists.
If I remember correctly things were even or Die was winning until Infil switched to Gouken and utterly bodied him.

When I played UMK3 as a kid, I knew the input for every single fatality, babality, and animality for every single character in the game. I find it hard not to learn these things while playing normally. It puzzles my mind.Well the fatalities aren't part of the actual match so why bother remembering it when you have to remember the specials moves and strings (many of which aren't intuitive)?

Should I feel bad to join the tourney for EVO next year just for the goody items I'll receive? Although I completely suck at the game.
(Shirts, Glasses, etc)?
Look at how many people signed up for KOF just for the shirt!Should I feel bad to join the tourney for EVO next year just for the goody items I'll receive? Although I completely suck at the game.

Sigh. First, it's not an issue of priority - it doesn't take a lot of commitment to figure this stuff out. Second, when a good player learns a character, that player learns everything about the character, even the stuff that is considered useless. How would learning the stuff that only is discovered by mashing button combinations be considered the norm for competitive purposes? I would think run cancels, kara jabs, relaunches, the various dial-in combos would be higher priority for UMK3. Even more so now that some of the strings have a built in mid/low to them.
Was just watching that.
Capcom....you can redeem yourself....
You know what you must do.
