The fuck? Arms is made by the Mario Kart team and from all the footage looks like a full fledged fighting game. Voting for Arms is not a troll vote. Its Nintendo's more traditional take on fighting games just like Splatoon was their take on TPS.

I voted Marvel. Objectively speaking I think it's the most deserving game, considering MVC has gone into bit of a renaissance lately, with us getting an all new installment later in the year and UMVC3 being re-released for modern consoles. I think it should definitely have one more year in the spotlight.
I would be interested in seeing ARMS, but I think it's a bit too early (the game hasn't even come out yet). I'd say wait until next year, well after we all played the game and gotten a grasp on it.

I enjoy watching those side tournaments. I would like to see more tournaments for non-fighting games, I'm just not sure where to find them. Neogaf only seems to care about fighting games.

They are not allowed to donate for it, but I didn't hear anything about not promoting it in other ways. Some Treehouse members already tweet about it.
I wish Nintendo would officially do something for it like putting a trailer or something. More than just a tweet by @NintendoAmerica would be nice.

Agreed. Its no less of a troll than the Super Smash Bros games. Tailored to casuals first and intended for party play, but people try to make it competitive by optimizing playstyles.

I think we split a pair and then your connect was lagging like crazy and we both bailed.
During the Switch presentation they said it has a deeper gameplay. Nintendo wouldn't try to get the game to EVO if they didn't believe it themselves. (But yes, it's also good marketing.)
Lots of people just hear the name and see how colorful and fun the game looks, so they think it obviously can't be a good & serious fighting game. Well, from what I've seen it could definitely be a good pick for EVO.

well, mario kart isnt really designed to be competitive... nor were the smash games, but melee ended up being super competitive accidentally, which is never going to be replicated by Nintendo.
We dont know anything really about ARMS depth, so as of right now its a total troll pick, while we know everything about the smash games.
edit: Id vote ARMS just because it would be really awkward to watch

Everyone needs to put their money towards UMVC3. Best commentary via Yipes and it's always fun to watch. It's also the sendoff year for the game because Marvel vs Capcom Infinite is coming out this winter.
