not sure if serious...
melee players get close to 400APM in an analogue, physics based fighting game with many pixel, angle and frame perfect techniques.
if you cant tell the difference between that and its followups which nintendo had zero interest in appeasing that crowd, then you might want to do some reading up on it.
By this standard every sequel should be featured because it was a game of its own.

Relegating Marvel 3 to the Player's Choice pool feels like they already chose the full roster of 9 games and are just running the vote for entertainment and participation value.
That said, the hardcore fighting game community is a subset of the already niche hardcore gaming community. Any big name in social media, e.g., PewDiePie could probably propel any title to the top by himself.

Chris G won, which was long deserved and would be a nice way to cap off the life of the game if it doesn't win (and ATM it looks like it will).

I've played all Smash Bros, still doesn't change the fact that it is 16 years old and other games have been booted once a sequel came out. It's over stayed it's welcome. NOBODY would say that it is superior to a game like 3rd strike and 3rd strike isn't there.
