Nah, as someone who has been to a lot of live events, the commentary helps a lot in the venue. The players generally use noise-cancelling headphones anyway so it doesn't bother them.

But again, you have to mic the crowd if you intend to cut back to on-stage award presentation and pre-match hype men. Cut the audio during the match if you have to, but if you're going to the stage we have to be able to hear the ambience of the room. This is basic production.
