So they don't have anybody knowing how to do sound mixing?
The crowd chanting PI-KA-CHU during the pokken matches had more energy than everything i've seen today

What the hell? You can do both, many events do thatPeople just gotta deal with the fact that we can't get crowd audio because they are piping the commentary out to them. Experience of the crowd is more important than the people watching on stream in this case. Sucks, but that's how it goes sometimes.
Was out for dinner, will surely watch the archive laterMKX GFs were great.
They also didn't have the crowd muted...just...almost no one was there
Actually honestly want to know, how do they resolve these sorts of issues at sporting events or other things with commentary that would normally be held at arenas like this? As far as I can tell we're not getting crowd audio because the stream commentators are also being piped into the arena, so every time they unmute/turn up the crowd we get echo/reverb from the commentary. But how is this not always a problem? Is there just usually just a different set of commentators for TV versus in-house or what? 100% agree people actually physically there should get priority, just not sure why this seems to be an issue since this has to be a solved problem?
Also yes this is extremely relevant for anyone not there since game audio is low, commentators sound like they're intentionally speaking very quietly, and they cut to people on-stage being introduced or Steven interacting with the crowd and viewers are getting dead silence. Makes it sort of hard to enjoy what everyone is watching.

kaz getting bodied
No non-escorts events don't use commentator audio at the event that I can think of. Thank god for that also
It's not like watching more of it will make it less hideous.
The commentators are loud, there is no way for them not to be picked up on the crowd mics.
Unless you want to turn down the commentators so much they sound like whispers in the arena.
Usually you don't pipe the commentary out to the audience at the event.

That's no excuse, more established #esports don't have a problem with this predicamentPeople just gotta deal with the fact that we can't get crowd audio because they are piping the commentary out to them. There are plenty of LoL, Counter-Strike, Starcraft and DOTA tournaments held in venues like this. The crowd, game and commentators are more often than not all balanced and audible for both the stream and the attending audience. There's no excuse for the shitty sound here.

I'm sorry but nearly all production companies know how to deal with that. Even a lot of amateur people.
Fact is, production (video, sound mixing, etc) and logistics are terrible this year. They don't care at all.
