Senjutsu lost it. It's time for acceptance...let it go..lol
I had Dreamcast under the tv when Sega bailed.
Granted I also had a N64 and was planning to buy a GameCube, but Sega was my jam.

You don't need to see an iceberg if your room at lower decks is taking water, but whatever floats your boat.
Not going to draw enough people to xbox to keep it afloat. As you stated, they will buy more publishers. Ubisoft would be a easy buy. Playstation will get all games. But Xbox players will get first dips. What does first dips mean? Beta test games, get multiplayer maps first, exclusive DLC, etc. Since they games will release in more platforms they will have bigger budgets as well. Sure “Fanboys” might get upset about this. But the mass market will just care they have access to COD, Elder Scrolls, Minecraft, Assassin’d Creed, etc 2 months ahead by “beta” preorder.
Microsoft will still push customers towards Xbox because that’s how they keep 100% of the profits to their games. There is a future where Microsoft makes more money out of Playstation than Sony themselves if they buy enough publishers.
you know this is Microsoft right? Company that bought mixer and skype?lol they are not gonna buy ANYTHING until they get out of this ROI mess first, and that can take years. Even smaller studios would likely be off the table at this point, let alone big publishers.
Looks like someone didn’t keep up with the ABK deal. 0 chance xbox buys ubisoft. As you stated, they will buy more publishers. Ubisoft would be a easy buy. Playstation will get all games. +1I don't believe it.
I'm calling BS. 100% BS rumour.
xbox is profitable, just stagnant. Not going to draw enough people to xbox to keep it afloat.
Until it's official then I can't believe. It doesn't make any sense for it to be real.
Pure semantics with hopium infusion. We know it's coming for weeks now (ever since Xbox CFO slip), Xbox people are quite content with this already.People like Tom Warren are talking about Microsoft considering if some Xbox exclusives should be ported to PlayStation.
There isn't any talk or rumors or Microsoft going full third-party and games like Halo or Flight Sim being released on Playstation.
U didn’t keep up with it either I guess. “blocked”. I threw a random publisher as my example, of Xbox just buying up publishers ala Embracer. Hell maybe even bail out Embracer Group from their own stupidity.Looks like someone didn’t keep up with the ABK deal. 0 chance xbox buys ubisoft.
They got away from all but 1 regulator for buying the latest publisher. You think they are going to step right back in the limelight? Delusional.U didn’t keep up with it either I guess. “blocked”. What did those regulators accomplish? Homies bought Bethesda and Activision back to back. I don’t think really think they give a fuck. Yes they will buy atleast one more publisher by the end of this console cycle. They got away from all but 1 regulator for buying the latest publisher. You think they are going to step right back in the limelight? Delusional.
Complete breakdown of the initial traget of the ABK acquisition and the general shift in Xbox software strategy. CoD exclusivity (the sole reason of this deal) is locked behind a 10-year binding contract with Sony, streaming and subscription rights are offloaded to Ubisoft worldwide for 15 years. What did those regulators accomplish?
The consoles are performing terribly.xbox is profitable, just stagnant.
It ended the quarter with hundreds of millions of net loss even with ATVI money piled right up at the top.xbox is profitable, just stagnant.
I'm pretty sure that Xbox themselves are leaking this information as part of their controlled leaks to prepare the grounds for them. The fact that MS and XBox have said absolutely nothing about this to counter the rumour mill is very telling. Publicly traded companies do not let false rumours float around, for fear of what they might do to share price.
Seems to me that some sort of internal war has been going on at MS over whether to go third party or not, and the decision has been made to do just that, and people are leaking it.

Microsoft offered Playstation 3 years, then a 10 year contract before CMA got involved. The same one Nintendo got. The idea that Xbox won’t buy another publisher because of these terms is silly. The idea that Microsoft were going to make COD exclusive is absolutely madness. Even Jim Ryan said “It is not an exclusivity play at all,” in a private email to CEO Chris Deering.Complete breakdown of the initial traget of the ABK acquisition and the general shift in Xbox software strategy. The whole idea behind the deal was to make CoD exclusive ASAP in order to boost gamepass and hardware. After CMA hardline position, good luck with both.
U-huh, non-binding.Microsoft offered Playstation 3 years

Why is all this information coming from Xbox fanboys? lol. Why is not coming from proper investigative journalists like Jason Schereir? The people who are leaking this information are Tom Warren, Jez Corden, Jeff Grubb, and Xbox Era lol. That tells me everything I want to know.
MS going third party is because of all the debt Xbox has accrued. Buying more devs isn’t on the cards right now.Microsoft offered Playstation 3 years, then a 10 year contract before CMA got involved. Idk why youre randomly suggesting Microsoft would pull a fast one. When the deal Nintendo got months before was binding. The same one Playstation got offered.U-huh, non-binding.
Jimbo went and bent Xbox over for 10-year binding contract. At this point the only think that ABK can make for MS is money on other platform. Any sort of exclusivity plans are on decade-long hold.
Where did we talk about Nintendo?Idk why youre randomly suggesting Microsoft would pull a fast one. When the deal Nintendo got months before was binding. The same one Playstation got offered.

Schreier's got the exclusive on Spencer being axed...

Exactly, there is absolutely no way this isn't a controlled leak. Somebody at xboxera starting things off saying "tomorrow is going to be interesting" then a bunch of other known MS mouthpieces giving out this type of information. They've all been briefed. There likely isn't going to be anything 'official' for a little while longer as they hide in the bunker and let the dust settle. It's clearly been leaked to all the gaming press directly by someone at MS to gauge reaction (same way film studios do the same thing with Deadline and THR). It's happening. Best get used to it.
I had a dream that xbox went third party last night
Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

But it won't be the exact same game. I've heard they're adding cutting edge features like maps for cities. On the plus side, when exactly the same game releases on PS5, it will get better reviews.
I could understand Starfield, but not Microsoft going full third-party. I can't see how it makes sense?

They've been losing money on Xbox's. It makes perfect sense.
I could understand Starfield, but not Microsoft going full third-party. I can't see how it makes sense?
The question is how long can they ride it out ? From the 2013 reveal of xbone they are on damage control and the only good exclusive they released is forza horizon. Its a pity that so much time, money and talent is spent on corporate bullshit and not on actual game development.I could understand Starfield, but not Microsoft going full third-party. What I was getting at is that I've seen no credible rumours of MS going full third-party.
It wouldn't matter to me if they did as I have a PS5 alongside my Xbox. The reason I'm struggling to believe this is because unlike SEGA, Microsoft have the financial clout to ride out this difficult period.
Actually, Xbox and PC version may have one perk over PS5On the plus side, when exactly the same game releases on PS5, it will get better reviews.

No fable, no gears, no good new halo, redfall sucked, sea of thieves sucked etc etc..
Maybe going 3rd party really is better for MS, but then another problem arises. That of competitiveness. If Sony is left to play alone in the gaming scene we probably wont see hardware leaps and the games will become generic and cost $150, as there wont be a need to push.
Also, MS, wtf. They spent $80BN in 3 years to buy everything and they wont use the IPs as exclusives to promote their console?
Maybe Valve will have another crack with some Steam Machine
